I really like your videos. I just bought the boxset and I'm very happy. Your video helped me decide to buy it and I came to thank you! I send you a hug!
At least they still put all the unique mixes from US on this set. I also love the Mini LP CD covers and inserts etc..so top quality. I wish the UK set was done as well and not those digi pack covers. Both sets are worth having. Quality wise this is the set to have. take care
I agree on the packaging. I love this box for that. I’d love to see them reissue the Stereo UK box in this format. Would be nice if they included the mono mixes too. But to have the full UK set in mini-LP would be amazing.
Thanks for another great video and highlighting this box set! Like Matthew said in another comment, this is one of my favorite Beatles sets. As you mentioned, the packaging is awesome, and you also get the stereo and mono versions of the albums. The set was mastered by Greg Calbi, and despite not using the Capitol tapes as the source (I’m one of those who like the Capitol mixes), the set is very well mastered! The sound quality is really very good.
Yeah, for this set, I think the Capitol mix s would have been appropriate. If you’re going to represent these albums, the should be represented correctly. Not just packaging and track listing. I still love the box though. The packaging alone.
Hey Dustino. I recently bought this legit box set. Also on yesterday and today, the stereo mix of day tripper has the original capitol mix. I’m not sure but I think there’s some extra reverb on these tracks that people are missing. I have heard the capitol box sets so I can compare… either way, you’re 100 percent right. The package is awesome! Great videos!
Great video once again! There is a myth circulating about the 2014 The Beatles U.S. Albums that they just sequenced them to the original Capitol LPs using the 2009 stereo & mono remasters. They did use unique U.S. mixes (sometimes mono, sometimes stereo) on some of the songs such as with "I Feel Fine"/"She's a Woman" with the extra reverb. You still have the false start with "I'm Looking Through You" and the extra coda of "And I Love Her" etc. The just didn't use the fake Duophonic stereo for songs like "She Loves You" & "I'll Get You" etc. although I realize some people are sentimental about Duophonic.
Yeah. They did include some obvious differences, but as a whole, I think this should have been treated as the Capitol Albums Vol. 1 & 2 sets were. Representing the true Capitol mixes straight down to the duophonic mixes.
I agree about Introducing... on VJ. I had a copy back in 1964 that was almost certainly counterfeit, but that's another story. But I really think they should have had at least Magical Mystery Tour, if not Pepper and the the rest, which were essentially the same as their UK counterparts (they did different packaging in the case of White and Let it Be but nothing too different).
Well, I may have gotten a fake. I didn't get the "Yesterday & Today" suitcase cover. The "Capitol" on the discs are a little darker than what I'm seeing in your video. The jackets almost all need re-gluing. The rest seems okay. I bought it as a personal nostalgia thing, really. I wanted the covers as much as the music (I'm old). These seem to sound all right. I've just been playing them on my computer as I do other work. I'm not quite what you would call an audiophile. I'll look for your video on the fake box! Thanks! -MJ
I'm still on the fence whether or not I should get this (probably will if I find an authentic one at a good price). But if I do, I'll make some custom ones for the missing albums: - Introducing...The Beatles, with the first pressing track list - Sgt Pepper, with the yellow "stereo" band at the top - The Beatles, based on SEBX11841 instead of SWBO101 because the former is easier to reproduce (custom embossers are expensive) and because the latter has the exact same labels as the UK original - Yellow Submarine with the US text at the back - Abbey Road (not sure if there are markings on the Capitol version that makes it different from the UK original) - Let It Be with the gatefold sleeve EDIT: I'll also probably need to source a second copy of Magical Mystery Tour from the mono box set to round up the set.
@@BeatleDustino Looking forward to that video. There are some detailed videos videos on fake 2009 box sets (both mono and stereo) but I don't think I've seen one for the US albums.
That is for the most part correct. Aside from a handful of songs these are just the 2009 stereo or mono masters. I’m Looking Through You is an example of one they left the false start on the stereo version. I mentioned a few others in the video too.
Totally agree with your review. The attention to detail on the pact has to please even the most ardent fans. The accurate inner sleeves, the inclusion of UA’s Hard Days Night, The Beatles Story, the rainbow labels, the Apple label on Jude, Yesterday and Today with the Butcher cover with the suitcase slick - all beautifully crafted. But why not go all the way in the name of authenticity and include the original mixes?
@@recordtime4923 I know. That was such a let down not getting the correct mixes. It would have been nice also to include Magical Mystery Tour since it was originally a Capitol U.S. album.
On them not using all of the exact same Capitol fake stereo mixes I think since those 2004 Capitol sets already exist there is not too much reason to make them again. It's good the other CD set does preserve most of the old mixes for historical value, but also as a younger fan who first had the pre-2009 CDs as my introduction to the band, many of the Capitol mixes sound completely awful and should be left in the past. The fake stereo mixes were not artistic choices but instead "ah, we are releasing a stereo album and can't be bothered to get a proper stereo mix from EMI." This set seems to retain a lot of the quirks of the US albums while not making it sound like the band fell down a well or are lost in a cave.
I got into the Beatles in the CD generation too. But I love hearing those old mixes. They can be jarring, yes. But I feel if you’re going to represent the US albums you should represent them with the correct mix and not just the artwork and track list.

Thanks. Yeah the packaging is fantastic on these. Some of the more noticeable Capitol mixes were put on these. But not 100% like the Capitol Albums.

A whole box would have been nice. Especially with the mini-LP style packaging to mimic those differences in the White Album and Let It Be.

Sounds like a fake with all that. The audio on the U.S. Albums box was not bad. But my In Mono fake box was terrible.
Great video! Tell me please if the mix of day tripper is different from the UK? Thank you!
Thanks. I do believe Day Tripper is the UK mix. Most are. I listen to the Capitol Albums box more as those are the true US mixes.
I used to think they were fighting over a conductor's baton on the cover of Beatles VI.
😆, nope, just cutting the cake.

That all would be cool to see. They might all fit in there too if you remove the foam. I’ll be showing my fake box of this on Saturday by the way.

Hey Dustin, so these songs are how they are shown on the 2009 UK reissues? They don't have the original nuances, correct? Thanks!

What covers are those?
@@BeatleDustino they were released in 2003 I think 🤔

Yes. Those are the ones.
