Very nice user review of one of my favorite Fuji cameras. I have the same body/lens combo. Added the Fuji 1/2 leather case for protection and extra grip. I have other Fuji bodies and lenses but will never sell this one.
Thanks! it's truly a hidden gem, I wounder what fuji can bring to the table with an x-e5.the fokus switch and the xtrans5 would be nice in that case I might switch.
You can also map focus to the rear dial (push function). That way your focus is where your thumb actually is. As for AF performance, agreed - it's not as good as e.g. the x-s20, of course, but it's better than the older cameras, and definitely good enough for this type of camera.
Thank you for the video! I also consider this camera the best in terms of price, quality, convenience. But I made a choice XT1. I like the old sensor more✌️💪
Thanks for the information, have you tried enabling AF in MF mode which will give you Peaking with auto focus,. It can be very useful at times, I use back button AF, and I can always just manual focus if I want to dial it in.
I have my cameras set up with back button focus in Af-s and shutter focus in AF-c I don't use the af in manual though since I ofen use face and eye detection witch is not available in manual focus mode. On some fuji models that don't provide the same back button focus experience as the x-e3 and newer models using the manual focus mode to get back button focus is a good work around.
I decided to buy one of these and it arrived last week. I'm going to use it as a back-up to my X-T2 and a bridge camera until Fuji sorts out it's future for the next generation rangefinder "style" cameras. I turned off the screen swipe feature as I kept hitting it inadvertently and kept moving the focus point. That's my only gripe and a very minor one. I think this is going to become my carry everywhere body. I bought a lanyard style neck strap and with the silver body I look like a harmless old geezer with a film camera.
@@heyjeon1840I think you can buy the xe3 also in 2023, it takes amazing pictures and it is a very pleasant camera to use and carry around. The big difference between the xe3 and the new xe4 is the xe4 lacks many customizable buttons that are present in the xe-3 , fuji opted for a more minimalistic style for the xe4(I personally don't like that because they removed all these buttons) clearly is my personal taste overall maybe you prefer a camera with less bottom. The xe4 has the new Fuji sensor but the "old" sensor of the xe-3 is wonderful. The only real upgrade of the xe4 in my opinion is the flip screen while in the xe-3 it's fixed and the add type-c port. In terms of ergonomics and functionality I totally prefer the Xe3.
glad to hear that, I miss this camera and planing to get one again eventually. At the moment I have and x-e2 and an x100v. I have a big rotation of cameras due f to this channel. I even had an x-e4 and I think the things. done right out weight the tilt screen and slightly refined performance of the newer model.
@@Kim_Alexander Yea but now with the fuji hype you have to pay a lot. Here in Germany you have to pay €600 which was the price for a new camera back when it was released. I already own the X-T2 and the X-M1 and initially the X-E1. But the X-M1 just cant hold up on a performance and image quality level.
@@danw1207 well that's not a bad thing it's a good camera and it might hold its value. It means when you selling it one day you are likely to lose less or even get your money back. Some would argue that the x-trans1 sensor found in your xm1 is the best 😉
I have both. While the a6000 feels good in the hand, it lacks dedicated dials forcing you to go to it's menu. Though old, it's autofocus is still good. X-E3 has analog feel and has the flexibility of film recipes. It's ISO is vastly better than that of a6000.
thanks! I'm from Sweden. I used the ttArtisan 27mm alot on my xt3 but also fuji 35mmf2 and occasionally viltrox 23mm I have reviews of most of those lenses aswell. here's the 27mm witch I think works best with the xe3 due to the small slze ruclips.net/video/ES0T0SEg31M/видео.htmlsi=DAqIkLsnO4Ik4K0n
I bought my X-E3 new-in-the-box when the X-E4 was announced. I saw the things that were left off of the 4 and decided to grab one of the last X-E3 bodies while I could. I also was using the X-Pro2 and X-T2, so the sensor and processor was the same, so I loaded the exact same film simulations into the Q menus of all the cameras and could get identical results with three different bodies allowing me to pick the camera for the situation without compromising. I liked the X-E3 so much that I bought the rather expensive Fujifilm grip and thumb grip for better ergonomics. No regrets on this purchase.
I gave my X-E3 to my daughter and bought the X-E4. I missed the X-E3 so much I sold the 4 and bought a used 3. I’m hoping Fujifilm releases an X-E5 with updated sensor and electronics with the X-E3 form factor!
i actually got it from mpb.com i was lucky though, they said there was a mark on the sensor. When i got it it's cleaned off.

Got mine used from the ads here in Serbia for 450 euro ($500) with the MHG-XE3 grip and a SanDisk 64GB SD card included. There are deals if you look around well enough.

Nice!
regarding the touch, you can specifically turn of the moving focus point by touch yet still have the swipe features.
I have this camera, bought 4 years ago and I am completely in love with it💜
Thinking of buying this! Should I still get it or should I just go for newer model with the same price range? Thinking of xe4 but so so hard to find
