I never knew you could see the Milky Way like that! This is amazing and inspiring! I know where my next trip will be! Yosemite is stunning! Putting it in fast forward really helps you to see our place in the universe. When the earth moves so slow you can't really tell.
+Explorer812 You can see the Milky Way and a much clearer and starred night sky in most places but you really need to get away from the cities to see the entire universe in it's glory.
I have seen the Milky Way.. The night sky from total darkness. When much younger at a camp for girls in the high Uintah Mountains. At first I thought it was clouds.. NO.. the sky was crystal clear, no clouds. It was so awesome I can't describe.. but I can remember it.. vividly! This was in the 1960's so, a very long time ago. It is a memory I absolutely cherish.. and strive to find places to see it again. Some light may be necessary but not the blazing , energy guzzling, make night look like day lights we have now. If Vegas went dark.. Imagine! I know I will get flack for this.. don't really care. I have long since stopped caring what ppl think about me. The fact is this.. we consume energy at a ridiculous rate.. for pure pleasure and excess.. If only necessary light was used at night. the difference would be remarkable!
I witnessed the starts at Yosemite only one time in my life and I wouldn't trade that memory for all the money on earth. Space is the most fascinating thing ever.
Yeah, imagine looking at those stars and its like looking through a window at your next door's neighbor, imagine all the life out there, and they are doing the same thing as you but haven't got a clue...
Used to be a long haul truck driver and have trips out across the desert at night. I'd get the same astounding view of the stars. Sometimes I'd stop for hours just staring up at the night sky...so beautiful...makes you realize just how small our world really is.
9 years ago you commented this... I hope you still have this account and can answer this question. I recently picked up a f150 as my first 4x4 vehicle for the sole purpose of camping and exploring nature and most importantly going to remote places away from light pollution to go stargazing. What were some of those desert areas you've been to that gave you the best views?
Imagine that: no lights whatsoever, everyone standing in their front yards (or back) and just watching the sky, maybe have a barbecue too! Stargazing through the night. Man, that'd be a dream come true!
The bad thing is that even if we did turn off all our lights, we still wouldn't be able to see the night sky like in this video. That's how bad the light pollution is.
Chi MoMo Maybe If we kept them off for years and years and even decades. We could get the milky way light back. But I know we can't get the city lights cut off. Even at my home in the woods, there are not even close to the amount of stars in this video.
Thanks a million for this. It relieved me so much! Now i have the inspiration to go to work tomorrow. 😂 Life must go on just like how the universe have been going on for centuries. I love you dear God for Your absolute heavenly masterpiece. So therapeutic for my well-being. To all the stars above, keep twinkling for me please. Love you all there up above. 😇😍😍😍😍
Wow, thanks for putting this video out, I really enjoyed the segment! I'm an amateur stargazer with a new telescope and look forward to doing some stargazing there soon!
I grew up looking at the starry sky it was in the country setting the sky was pitched black you're absolutely correct no light only the lunar lights, I've gotten away from this over the years, it is magnificent.
Thanks for sharing this great video, I will certainly visit Yosemite in my next trip to EUA. I´d like to ask: summertime can be a good time to see the stars? Thanks!
I'm going to Yosemite in a couple of weeks to shoot night sky time lapse! I'm so excited!!!!!!! Does anyone have any suggestions on where's the best spot to camp out for the shoot?
I need to go there before I die, there's something about the space that intrigues me in a way no other thing does. I get excited when we get more than the normal amount of stars in the city, but this is just beyond that.
song used in the video is called "Genesis - Terry Weatherbe" its a little different from the one used in this one cuz its the original i dont like the animal sounds and waves in it so yea imma keep looking for the version from this video :)
This pristine view of the sky was availble to all humans for many millenia since humans arose, pre-electrification of course. But this grand kinship they always talk about in all galactic view vids did nothing to avail wars even though these grandiose views of the heavens were there since forever.
I have never seen the sky like this. All I have been able to look at all these years were just a few glowing dots. I hope I get the chance too one day :)
Has anyone ever been to the GRAND CANYON & saw the night sky there? That too was magnificent with stars beyond counting. It's a night I'll never forget. The heaven's declare GODS' GLORY!
When God said "Let There Be light" He was clearing the thick atmosphere of the early Earth so that the lights can be seen by the life formed on Earth after the bacterial life forms. Now we cant see the stars due to human light pollution, God should shout down at us and say " Turn out those lights".
Why cant I see this every night? Do you really have to go dozens of miles away from any light source to have a colored view of the night sky? Im currently in the Philippines and from where I am right now (4 miles away from a small town), I can only see the brightest stars like Rigel, Sirius, and Betelgeuse. Is this because the atmosphere is thicker here at the equator?
Yes. Light Pollution from cities block the light from the stars. So you need to go considerably far away from a city to see a sky like this. Also, natural phenomenon like fog and clouds can block stars. So isolated, mountainous, and dry places are the best. That's why deserts are some of the best places to view the stars
LilRedRasta Also, maybe it's because cameras are just better than our eyes on picking up light? But damn I'd do anything to see the night sky like that.
The Stan I live in the Philippines as well, but its alright here, I can see an average amount of stars and I live in Paranaque! (This is only on clear skies) Try traveling to some islands where light pollution is a definite minimal. And try to stargaze from 8 PM to 5AM, for me those are the best times here in the Philippines.
The Stan Yes, cameras are better at picking out the light, due to the long exposures used. From reasonably dark skies, the milky way would appear somewhat like a greyish cloud visually, except that it sparkles with starlight. Also, the sky will not be coloured, aside from a reddish tinge from artificial skyglow. The blue-green colour in the background sky from the timelapse was probably altered to give it a cooler white balance.
I wish many more videos like this could be seen around the world every year. The one experience better than the video is seeing for yourself.
This almost makes me want to cry it is so beautiful!! I love looking at the stars. I wish I could be there.....I'm watching this again.
Same here, it's incredible. There's really no words to describe it.
Christopher Latimer Yeah, It looks so much different from my area where you see no stars,
Misty Lane in the future one day ill take u there and make out with u misty lane.
This universe is really beautiful 💖
Makes you think Our Generation wont be alive long enough to find intelligent life on other planets or to see Interstellar travel
I really like watching stars especially while listening to musics.
I'm one of those who can't remember what a real night sky looks like, this is very beautiful.
Incredible ! I have never seen the nighttime sky as clear as this before. Amazing video...

Yeah its beautiful although I never witnesses it myself, it's one of my goals to see the Milky Way. Too bad I live in a light polluted city.

It’s so beautiful I hope to see the Milky Way one day

Very Lovely Filming !
Awesome scenery !
Awesome Filming of Gods love for us all to enjoy :-)
Blessings Always, :-)
I'd love it if for one night, everyone turned off their lights so they could witness the night sky in all it's glory. That would be amazing.

If you ever have a bear prowling around your tent at night, you'll love the dark less.
Song starting at 05:00 what is the name?

480p??...This deserves better than 480p. Still a good video but would be much better in HD.
What is the name of the songs used? :)
The thubnail seems fake
