I don’t know much about this game, but this thing is so ridiculously well animated and horrifying I’m impressed
Basically a toy company was conducting human experiments turning people into living toys and it backfired hard. Huggy the big blue bastard in the video single handily took out an entire factory of workers and well it's not done yet

Also the way it moves, and the rapid thumping as it tears through the vents after you, like a mix between a cursed muppet and a spider. It's the movements it makes that really scare me.

What scares me the most about Huggy is just how SMOOTH and FLUID his animations are, almost to the point that he actually looks LIVE ACTION 😰. MAN these creators are talented, can't wait for the next episodes and their other future projects! 👏😁
🤔 I suspect that the animation for Huggy Wuggy in the vent was motion captured by a live actor, it looks like it to me anyways, RE Village was motion captured and that’s a horror game, so perhaps the developers did this for Huggy Wuggy to get that life like fluid movement.

The first time you see him, he’s standing still. Knowing we know now, that he’s a living creature, that moment is just him playing with you. He’s perfectly capable of killing you right there and then but he chooses to mess with you.

The vent chase scene is the scariest part in chapter 1 for me. Just imagine running from a tall blue furry doll thingy and it just chases you in small vents

I can only hope that when they refer to his coordination skills that they are indeed talking about movement and not that there are more of those things that work well together

The animator for Huggy did a phenomenal job, everything from the movement, the vent chase to subtle eye and mouth movements. Huggy would make slenderman blush

I just find his height and the way he moves so unnerving, it’s been a while since a monster in a horror game scared me like this.
I know right. I dont like horror games but the main reasons i want to play poppy playtime is because how well huggy is animated and designed and it gives me hope for more crazy looking monsters in this game which i admire. I just like the atmosphere of a creepy, plastic, toy place
@@B9-s3ns3 apparently there's going to be another monster in chapter 2 that's similar to Huggy, but more dangerous. I don't know how true that is, but it seems likely that the factory would make another one.
A remarkably simple design too. It looks like a bastardized version of something a kid would draw.
So the tape you find after is a scientist describing huggy being a test subject, he could cooperate and coordinate, and he locked himself in there. And the screams are workers being slaughtered by huggy wuggy. And huggy tricked you into doing all of that progress, so you got closer to him. So it wasn't just a harmless toy factory, they were performing experiments. That's the scariest part

@@gamermoment9927 There is definitely blood on the pipes Huggy hits on the way down. Multiple youtubers have mentioned it, and you can see the difference before and after.
some of the writing in the vent says 'I'm so hungry' so part of me feels like this is huggy writing on the walls -- so huggy is capable of human language and dexterous enough to use a crayon without snapping it

This game is honestly great. No “cheap” jumpscares or anything besides the capturing animation, which you had coming if you don’t play well enough. I love the little hints from Huggy. The horror comes from the intensity of the vent chase and the dread. Glad it didn’t go with those cheap jumpscare indie games

I dunno if it’s just me, but I think if you listen closely when Huggy Wuggy falls down( 2:24 I think ) , you can actually hear him scream ( his jumpscare scream ) and I dunno …. I like that detail

They could make a nightmare similar to this but adding this game as a literal level wouldnt really fit the the games design. Also, how would it relate to doug? since all nightmare levels are actually related to the players character (doug).
I love how Huggy is clearly alive but the animators never forgot to make him still seem soft and rag-dollish. When he’s in free fall, he just goes limp and I think that’s really cool. I also really like that most of his arms are basically immobile when he walks, and that he gets all scrunched up in the vent to chase you, but once he gets out of the vent, he can get to you in like two seconds-like he’s built up his vigor and determination to catch you. He’s such a cool character and I hope we see more of him. Maybe we’ll see the part of the factory where he’s made!
0:20 that hallway the hand was in, if you go in it and turn around you'll briefly see Huggy pass by at the entrance, very few people seem to notice.

0:20 Im not sure if its removed scene or not but in the trailer after the hallway where Huggy's hand slithers the entrance as you walk in until the middle of the hallway if you rotate, you can see Huggy walk passed you behind from the entrance where you came from

Huggy Wuggy is definitely a genuine and original enigma of what a horror antagonist is, the creators and designers deserve a great amount of recognition. It’s just so perfect for a horror game.

I've played plenty of horror games and I am not exaggerating when I say that vent chase scene has to be the scariest chase scene I've ever experienced in any horror game by far. It's crazy that this is coming from a indie dev.

The way it moves scares me so much. It moves in a rubberhose type of way, the way it went under the door so smooth and wiggly. Then don't get me started on the way it moved around the vents. It's hands were slapping against the walls so rubbery. This character genuinely scares me and I don't get scared from a character that easily.
There’s another animation where if you don’t drop the box in time, Huggy will break through and leap at you! Saw it in Markipliers gameplay

I know a lot of people’s favourite animation is the chase scene through the vents or the way he screams as he falls but mine is definitely the way he enters. The part at 0:35 when he ducks under the door is just so creepy to me, it’s so well done that even just having it go underneath the door so it’s head doesn’t get hit is actually interesting and something that someone can actually pick up on

I think it's a great creature design, cute when it's not being threatening but absolutely terrifying when it's chasing you. I think it's mainly the teeth, long grabby limbs, and the way it moves aswell as the speed of its movement

Apparently, you can actually spot Huggy spying on you in the room when you first acquire the hand backpack. He's supposedly watching from a vent but dashes away fast. There's also a rumor that if you look at him close enough when he's standing still as a statue, he's apparently veeeeery subtly moving as though he's breathing.
For some reason I think Huggy looks creepier with his mouth _closed_ (although he's still very intimidating either way.) There's something very uncanny about his grin.

I’ve honestly haven’t felt this much anxiety and sense of fear in a looooooooooong time. From such a, simple monster design and I absolutely adore it. I can’t wait for chapter 2 and to see Markiplier play it.
The scariest thing about this is that Huggy follows you wherever you go, it's just he is hiding somewhere.
Unlike the animatronics in FNAF, Huggy Wuggy wait you patiently to solve the tasks, really chasing you and doesn't come out of nowhere to jumpscare you. He's kinda like Bendy from BATIM.
I can't wait how the next chapter will look like with another characters.

Huggy's appearance doesn't scare me. It's the movement, so well-animated and especially where it chases you through the vents. It's difficult to make large enemies look good in tiny spaces, nonetheless animating it. Whoever worked on the animation deserves a reward-

The fact that the alarms went off when Huggy appears tells me the company who made him knew he was a threat and installed an escape protocol in case Huggy went haywire.
The animation is outstanding. I can't believe how good it actually is
