I've never been that into wood latheing and that music was not really what I would normally listen to. But fun to see how a bowl like that is made none the less 👌😀
Jamie, great video mate looks like you just about maxed out your lathe there for the tool rest. Pieces like that are a bitch to sand / finish and polish, well done
Fantastic work jp it looks great Question Dale asked me to contact you regarding a local wood turning club I could join to learn I live in Dymchurch and wondered weather you could help please
Thanks buddy, I’ve always struggled to find woodturning clubs near me, the closest to me is Canterbury and that’s an hour away, there’s also one in Maidstone , best thing to do is look for maker spaces or woodturning clubs near you online..... however.... if you need any help with anything, just ask and I will jump in a remote video call with you and hopefully that can answer your question
Very true mate but A) I don’t own a bandsaw and B) even if I did own a bandsaw, my workshop is too small to put a saw in big enough to re-saw this so the lathe it was 😁
Awesome looking bowl! Love the channel mate. I’ve just started to wood turn and your channel helped in finding tools. Massive fan of EWT 😊. Question tho, do you replace your tips or use a diamond stone?
Thanks mate....i always replace the tips buddy, i never sharpen them, it has been known to be done, personally im not a fan of it, the carbide tips are just not the same
That would be awesome thanks mate. I’ll make something and send you a link. Was thinking a YT channel as well that way I can get feedback on how I’m going.
Great video, the piece is absolutely stunning and now apparently my work will be moved out of the way to make room for it.
hahahaha thanks mate
Dang, Jaime, you just can’t win with the music. Everyone’s a critic. I rocked out to it. And btw, I see how this platter got its name. Lol Great job!!
LOL, its all good, everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if they are wrong LOL..... Thank you

Nice turn J... I noticed a couple of times you were using a real large EWT. Was that the Pro Series, and if so how do you like it? Thanks, V
Thanks buddy! Yes so that was the pro size no1 hollower and it’s a beast! I love it
Jamie, great video mate looks like you just about maxed out your lathe there for the tool rest. Pieces like that are a bitch to sand / finish and polish, well done
Thanks mate, I think it was maxed out yeah, I can go up to 21inches with the coronet herald

Excellent work as always. Not sure I'm brave enough to tackle anything like that.lol
Thanks mate, and i didnt think i was either until i did it ;)
It is cool but seems like a bandsaw would have made the same product and plenty of other plates that are now chips
Very true mate but A) I don’t own a bandsaw and B) even if I did own a bandsaw, my workshop is too small to put a saw in big enough to re-saw this so the lathe it was 😁
Thanks jp where are you based
No worries, I’m based near Margate

Awesome, good to know. Thanks mate. Just rotated my finishing tool so will be needing to replace soon. Only starter a few weeks ago and loving it!
Awesome! Do you have any social media accounts where I can check out your work? I’d like to see how you are progressing
That would be awesome thanks mate. I’ll make something and send you a link. Was thinking a YT channel as well that way I can get feedback on how I’m going.
