In Jamaica we call it Sorrel. We make a spiced drink with it during Christmas time. Some people add white rum to it or they leave it to ferment to make Sorrel wine. It's really delicious.

Fresh Roselle is the best. The nutrients are as rich as cranberry and blueberry. There're tons of vitamin C and A. Good for eyes. There AHA for skin (should use the dried one). However, it effects to kidney, should eat with jujubes coz jujubes remedy kidneys. Roeselle shouldn't be consumed too long. However, I love it!!!

Bit late to the party but here in Australia, that is a hibiscus plant known as the Rosella Hibiscus. We make them into tea, jam and use them to flavour sparkling wine. I’ve got one growing in my yard and a jar of the flowers to make drinks with. The flowers “bloom” in the bottom of wine flutes whilst releasing a red syrup into the drink.

These are Rosella flower/fruit from the Rosella Hibiscus plant. This plant is actually a native of Africa. We grow it here in Australia where many people love to make jam from the flower/fruit. Many other countries also grow this plant and make cordials and tea from it also.

In Trinidad and Tobago, in the Caribbean, we call it "sorrel". It is usually boiled with spice and cloves then sweetened. Delicious!

In Odisha (India) it is called khatta (sour) palanga (spinach, because it is cooked like spinach) or khatta bhendi (ladies finger, because the leaves resembles ladies finger plant). It is added to stir fries (bhaja), curries (in the same way as spinach) and eaten in salads.
