- I attended a special screening of Friday the 13th part 2 in Blairstown, NJ, where scenes from the first film were shot. Steve Dash, who played Jason in most of part 2 (albeit uncredited) was on hand for the festivities and told the story of how he was cast to fill the role of Jason.

Metaluna Zombie I consider myself the luckiest of men to have had the chance to be there and meet him. A beyond awesome man who chanted the slashers forever.
RIP Steve he may be gone but his legacy will live on in the heart's of fan's & the film's.
I had the privilege of meeting the Legend himself Mr Steve Dash at my local horror con in NJ and he was the nicest,sincere and genuinely cared about his fans.
You will be missed Steve aka The Real Jason.

And i will probably be the only one to say this but Warrington Gillette tried to steal the fame & limelight from Steve but any real fan knows who the man wearing the sack was, Steve himself!
Warrington wasn't the first Jason to kill. It was Steve Dash.

It’s true though. Warrington Gillette wasn’t even really a stunt guy he thought he was doing Paul’s part or something. He did that jump through the window stunt and that’s it. Every cast member treated Dash like shit just cuz they vibed so well with Gillette. Didn’t give him a fair chance. Fuck them all. Except for Amy Steel she’s my favorite lol. Steve Dash is the real Jason in part 2.
I thought it was a bit unfair that they took away the part away from Warrington. I mean, we saw the "stunts" in the rest of the movie. They didn't seem like a huge deal. And not only that, Steve DID get injured multiple times throughout the shoot.
@@TheConcertCruizer Warrington lied to get the part by saying he could do his own stunts. He couldn’t even do the crashing through the window scene at the end without being wired up to swing through the window. He basically wasn’t able to do any stunt, no matter how small and simple. It’s because of this, Warrington was removed and they hired Steve Dash to do the entire film as Jason outside of that one scene Warrington did.

@Jared_Wignall it's the studio's fault for hiring an actor as a stuntman without doing any research on him beforehand
