I never had an intimate relationship with my mother and most of my triggers that give me asmr are related to comfort and care given by a parent which I desperately wanted as a child. Oof this comment hit hard. I'm lucky enough to not have a HORRIBLE relationship with my mother... just an emotionally distant one. I remember the first time I watched/listened to Emma's "Sleepy Fireside ASMR" video and I involuntarily began to cry while lying in bed hearing her humming. I quickly realized that it was because that maternal comfort was never something I had as a child. It's super wonderful to see the dedication she has to being emotionally present & attuned in their lives--nothing makes me happier than to see parenting like that. ♥♥
Thank you for sharing this, as I thought that it was just me who gets emotionally nurtured in that innocent, childlike way. My mother has never emotionally been there for me in a loving and nurturing way, either. I realize that it's because she is incapable of that, for a variety of reasons, but even though I'm a grown woman, it definitely does leave a void. As a long time fan of your videos this makes me so happy. As a girl I used to lay across my mom's lap while she sat in her easy chair, legs dangling straight off the side so she could tickle my back. We called it "little fingers". Even now, as an independent 30yr old living thousands of miles away, whenever I go home I love to sit in front of her so she can play with my hair at night. I am glad you and Mia have this together. It's such a sweet thing to share.
I had mid back, very curly hair in July of last year. Cut it into an asymmetrical bob. Then into a pixie cut. My hair is now long enough to pull all the way back. I refuse to chop it off ever again!!! I miss my long hair

I just had my first baby about a month ago and I’m already trying to do anything I can think of to make it more likely that he will experience ASMR. My husband doesn’t experience ASMR and I really want my child to because it’s such a wonderful sensation! I hope someday the research will give us more information on what makes it more likely that one will be able to feel it.

As she gets older it's having more of an effect. She dropped forward a few times during this!! I could tell she was relaxed and enjoyed the pampering 😊

I just had my first baby about a month ago and I’m already trying to do anything I can think of to make it more likely that he will experience ASMR. My husband doesn’t experience ASMR and I really want my child to because it’s such a wonderful sensation! I hope someday the research will give us more information on what makes it more likely that one will be able to feel it.
@@FosterMeg My son is about to be 2 and he loves ASMR! He will sit and watch a video with me before bed. He seems to get sleepy when he sees lots of hand movements!

Wonderful video, Emma (and Mia). I’m several hours late watching this, but man was it worth the wait. Everything sounded wonderful in this. I especially enjoyed the tuning fork (which I was pleasantly surprised by because I have never actually watched an ASMR video with one in it), hair, and wooden comb sounds in this, so thank you for including all of those.
