    a fantastic instructional vid - thank you! I have just purchased a TM m9a1 and a Nova m9a1 upgrade kit for my sons birthday and I was going to fit the kit myself. Having watched your very thorough guide through the disassembly (I had no idea just how much was going on in there), I am now quietly terrified! To the best of your knowledge, will I likely have to do any machining or modifications to make everything fit? I'm a bit concerned about the bit where you have to pull the sides of the slide apart to get all the internal bits in - the metal on the slide obviously doesn't have the flex that the plastic does one on the original m9a1 does. Is there anything that I should know before I attempt this that might help? Many thanks in advance

    • @AirsoftAfterHours
      @AirsoftAfterHours  8 лет назад +3

      Hi there! congrats on your purchase!
      There are a few things which must be modified on the kit but the work is pretty straight forward so don't worry too much, some assorted grades of sand paper and a Dremel was all we used to do the work, most of which was removing material from the mag well so the magazines fit correctly.
      Don't worry about the slide assembly as the metal kits from Nova are installed differently to the original Marui ones, Nova has designed it so your internal components just slide in like butter and are held in by a retention bar with two screws.
      Before attempting the install, make sure you have all the magazines present to test one by one. Marui's chrome magazines aren't all the same exact size, after you have installed a Nova kit, some mags will be too tight, some will be too loose, the best way is to use your tightest magazine and only remove enough material from the mag well to allow them to fit snuggly otherwise your loose fitting magazines will be way too loose.
      If you like, we can release a video which showcases exactly what work needs to be done to which areas. We already have the video and can remotely publish it here with a link. ^^

    I have a question. I accidentally lost the safety spring, the really small one @40:36. But it doesnt seem to have that much of an impact on the gun because I can still decock the gun. Is there actually anything wrong with the gun that im not seeing if I dont have the safety spring? And if it is really important do you know where i can obtain a suitable replacement? Many Thanks!

    • @AirsoftAfterHours
      @AirsoftAfterHours  8 лет назад +1

      Hi there! We believe the spring is to aid in the springy feeling when engaging and disengaging the safety/ de-cocker. We've destroyed our original spring by clamping it in an awkward position during service and maintenance so what we did was replace it with a small spring that we cut down from our spares box, we can't be absolutely sure as we've never used this pistol without but we don't think it's detrimental to not have the spring. 😊

      It sounds like the hop rubber is either not installed properly or may be damaged.
