Great review specially about Master Books! I was wondering about that curriculum. Very hard to choose from master books and TGTB I was wondering what exact subjects Simply K goes over? with TGTB it is phonics, reading, art, geography, etc, and it specifies on the cover.
It’s been awhile since I’ve looked through it but I remember it being more life skill type items and if you wanted phonics you’d need foundations phonics from MB. It can be so hard to decide whether you want the gentle approach from MB or a more rigorous one from TGTB. We didn’t use simply k but did use foundations phonics then TGTB and I feel like both in that order prepared my daughter well for reading. I will say though that I did not like the inconsistency in the length of TGTB reading portions. Some days were super short and others were very long.
We had that problem with Masterbooks Language Lessons for a Living Education level 1, it just didn't prepare my son for the words he was expected to read.
I have both, because I must have all the things LOL! I plan to use SImply K for the Life Skills and Bible portions mainly. My daughter could definitely use some work ont he life skills portion. :) I almost feel they compliment each other if you don't think of Simply K as language arts.
At the moment we are using TGTB kindergarten level to help my older kids with phonics but we aren’t sure what we will use for my 4 year old!!! TGTB language arts pdfs are free for levels k - 8!!! I believe that will be the plan for math!!! I agree that it’s too early to teach difficult words!!!
Yeah I believe it changes to 8th next month! Hopefully you figure out what you want to do for your four year old! I know a lot of people are saying they like this new one better than the old version.
Thank you Shauna! I always love a good flip-through. 🌻
Thank you ❤️
You did great comparing these two curriculum Shauna! Love the flip-through.

Yeah, as I was looking through it frustrates me. Gave me flashbacks form college with professors who don’t teach the way they test 😂
Wonderful upload dear. Thank you for sharing! ✨🎉
Thank you!
Great, comprehensive flip through!
Thank you!
I love the LA from The Good and the Beautiful.
It’s nice hearing such good things about it!

Ha ha Just finished your video and see that you are planning the same thing! :)
Haha well you know what they say, great minds think alike!
We are using both too!
Thank you! This is really helpful. Is masterbooks pretty open and go like The Good and the Beautiful, or is it more like teacher guide style?
It’s definitely open and go. That has been something that I loved about it (we have used it for grades 2 and 3)

I know this is an old video so you may not see my comment but I noticed your shirt! Did you go to texas tech?
I did!
@@HomegrownHomeschool me too! That’s wild lol. I still actually live in Lubbock!
@@rewise73 how cool! I went to their satellite campus in El Paso but one of my friend's is in Lubbock now for one of their programs.
@@HomegrownHomeschool such a small world sometimes!
TGTB math k-6 and LA k-8 are free 🙂
Isn’t that in July for 7-8? I thought I read that somewhere. If it’s already out then that’s awesome!
This is so wonderful😀.
Thank you!
