Black guy from Louisiana and never truly got into Baseball... I loved Manny he was my favorite thing about baseball. I love how he was always ready to fight for his teammates even when they weren't in a big altercation he was just ready to have their back at all times.
That outfield trio is legitimately one of the greatest of all time. All three are HOF caliber players, two of the greatest power hitters and the BEST leadoff hitter of their era. It's really a shame that none of them will get in, because their stats are certainly deserving.
Roids or not, Manny is one of the greatest RH hitters of all time. Kills me that the Tribe couldn't have won just 1 World Series. Along with all the other great hitters in their 90s lineups, just having Manny and Thome hitting back to back from '94-2000 is among the greatest RH-LH power duos in the history of the game.
Great 1st episode. I remember not being so thrilled when the dodgers got him in 08 after his clowny actions that year in boston but by his 1st week there i was literally screaming GIVE HIM ANYTHING HE WANTS at dodger stadium. Such an amazing player
Manny Ramirez and C.C. Sabathia have the two most prominent seasons I can remember where they played for a team for just the last half of a season. Probably the best ever, as that "we're going to trade away our farm system to rent you for three months" thing kinda came and went within a decade. Teams wised up, though you could argue for the Brewers and Dodgers, it was almost worth it those years.
Benjamin Voegele Randy Johnson with the 1998 astros as well ... 11 starts 4 complete game shutouts 10-1 1.28 era 116ks in 84.1 innings. Helped them with the NL Central. Went on to sign with Arizona the next season.
I remember waking up to that front page of the Boston Globe. What a glorious day in Red Sox history. A day before ARod had signed with Texas for 10/252 and 3 days before Mike Hampton signed with the Rockies for 8/121. Those 3 contracts led to the explosion of massive deals in baseball. What a great time to be a kid growing up watching baseball though.
I'm a life long Yankee Fan....Manny was one player I really liked....he was ALWAYS MUST SEE, ya NEVER knew what he would do at the plate OR in the outfield, ya just KNEW it wouldn't be ordinary....
Growing up every Dominican who moved to The Bronx and lived close by Yankee stadium were mostly Red Sox fans because the team was filled with great Dominican players including Manny Ramirez. That’s cool you added that manny liked the blue jays because of a Dominican player.
The baby bull was the man. As a life long Indians fan he was so great to watch and also as a red Sox fan it was great to continue to cheer for him. Man ram is the man
I played against manny on a rainy day on long island in early 90. Herricks high school field during fall ball. He homered right down the 3rd base line into the tennis courts. I went yard as well. Great memory.
Manny was in his second year. Playing in right. We were in first row right behind him. He stretched the whole top of the first. I’m not exaggerating when I say he missed 10 of the 15 pitches. Wasn’t even close to looking. Had it been today, the video would be everywhere. It was a classic Manny move. I loved him. Everyone did.
I am from the Cleveland area and I knew of a girl whose friend was dating Manny . She called his place and asked if her friend was there and he said yeah and hung up the phone . Manny being Manny .
I grew up and played with Manny at George Washington HS, and he was the same even back then. He is a free spirit akin to a Bohemian. Everyday after BP he would run laps endlessly, he worked really hard. It was really an amazing sight to see Manny hit with an aluminum bat in HS, I'm talking some legendary taters, it was like seeing a ball launched from a mortar tube.
Fun fact I was at the game that Bob Hamelin grounded out and then just walked to the lockerroom and left... 1999 Ned Skeldon stadium Toledo, Ohio... well Maumee, Ohio at the time technically
Gonna say it again, like I did when the message came out about this video happening last week. Manny was my favorite player growing up. He is the best. He roided and that's not good. But dang, he still will be my favorite player. I'll say it again when part 2 comes out next. Big sox fan too, cant wait for next week.
This is great Manny Ramírez was my favorite player I used to be the only one wearing a number 24 grey redsox jersey in the middle of New York everyone hated it
Awesome vid bro. I subbed after watching. Im a Tribe fan who was growing up in the early-mid 90s so i remember all this very well. All my guys growing up. Lofton Manny Baerga Thome. Brings back alot of good memories. Except the braves and Marlins series 😅😅
Manny moved to NYC but shows a Chicago Skyline 😂 great video though really enjoyed this. My pops actually played with manny on that dominate youth service team. Which is that “YSL” hat he has on.
Funny enough, both my father and my uncles went to high school with manny and were very good friends with him. I ended up going to that same high school for my first 2 years of HS. And the teachers told me stories about how Manny would be in the field day and night, rainy or sunny, just practicing, it’s pretty amazing.
My favorite player ever...and I'm 26 in 2023. If Ortiz is in the HOF, he should be in a different type pf recognition, because he outclassed David at every turn
I’m 40 and remember him coming up and playing on the Indians. Ive seen Manny hit in person. You’ll never see a hitter better than him. His bat speed is insane. He can hit anything.
Mannnnn I love your channel! I really appreciate the videos about Manny Ramirez! One of my favorite all time players.👍🏽👍🏽 The Emmys really should recognize RUclips videos and channels. I’d definitely push for you being nominated and winning. 💯👍🏽👍🏽👌🏾
As an Indians fan.... man does this video hurt, it’s just gut punch after gut punch. Might as well cover the 2016 World Series at the end just to put the final nail in my coffin.
I guest one of the key reasons Manny hated the Yanks was because only the Yankees defeated the Braves in the World Series. The same thing happen to the Ray's in which Tampa lost to the Phillies while the Yankees dominated the Phillies the next year in that World series.
Heard about him but never saw him before, it was before my time but very impressive also bit unlucky player( although not with the money part lol). When is part 2 coming out ? cant wait for it.
We hope you enjoy the beginning of this series! For further updates on the releases of future parts (coming soon), you can follow both @StarkRaveSports and @SRSMike on Twitter. Thank you all for the incredible support!
I like the music you used through out the video
When are you gonna make a Rube Waddell video
Well done 👍🏼
Second part
The Marlins win the WS in their 5th and 11th seasons, and no one cares, not even their fans. Now they're a chronic doormat, a real joke.
It's insane that those 90s Indians teams never won a world series... so much talent in that lineup
Kanye West incredible offense but mediocre pitching I think 🤔
Kinda like this current Yankees squad
@@mikeprince2036 hell no the Yankees suck
The teams that blow my mind the most for not winning a WS are the 90's Indians, early 2000's Mariners, and 2010's Tigers.
@@upperechelon5692 you can even add the Jays too that too. The year they got too the finals - they had a pretty solid lineup
Being Dominican and from uptown Manhattan... Manny Ramirez was one of my favorite players.... de lo mío 💪🏻24 🇩🇴
Black guy from Louisiana and never truly got into Baseball... I loved Manny he was my favorite thing about baseball. I love how he was always ready to fight for his teammates even when they weren't in a big altercation he was just ready to have their back at all times.

Korean guy here, manny was my favorite player as a kid, had so much swag lol
1:02 moved to New York City
(Shows Chicago)
It doesnt matter
I came here to say this.
I was gonna say the same thing. That's the Hancock tower.
Lol saw that immediately too
I was like c'mon man!!
Red Sox fan here, can't wait for the next one. That dude was a baaaaaad man when he stepped up to the plate.
Same here Ortiz and Ramirez duo is my favorite duo of all time
He’s the best hitter of his era in my opinion.
Yankee fan here, fuckin hated playing against Big Papi and Manny but Manny was always my favorite and I respect Ortiz. Both were hard to get out.
@@owenjohnson469 he is bro!
Them roids
lmao the Chad Ogea thing was hilarious. looking forward to the rest of this series
I can honestly say, I saw that humor coming. LoL
Can we all agree that we will never forget that Manny was on the cover of MVP Baseball 2005.
TESSSSSSIEEEEEEEEEE
Imagine being Kenny Lofton holding together the Indians outfield with Manny and Albert Belle.
That outfield trio is legitimately one of the greatest of all time. All three are HOF caliber players, two of the greatest power hitters and the BEST leadoff hitter of their era. It's really a shame that none of them will get in, because their stats are certainly deserving.
Grew up in Boston. Saw him play in Pawtucket a couple times. Knew then he'd be a stud. Cried when my Sox signed him. Sweetest RH swing all-time.
Like it or not, steroids saved the mlb after they canceled a World Series in the late 90s. I can’t hate sportsmen for steroids.
Steroids don't help with contact.. Manny was a skilled hitter .. same as Bonds .
I don't care about any of this shit
Manny is my favorite
Why am I seeing this? I hate you guys
Great 1st episode. I remember not being so thrilled when the dodgers got him in 08 after his clowny actions that year in boston but by his 1st week there i was literally screaming GIVE HIM ANYTHING HE WANTS at dodger stadium. Such an amazing player
Was not expecting to see you here. But I'm very here for it
17 homers in 53 games that year for you guys too, some great numbers.
@@allenelliott2114 Agreed. I didn't even realize he was a baseball/dodger fan (though it makes sense)

165 RBI's and still can't get the AL MVP. RIP.
Looking forward to this series bro! I'll always have a soft spot for Manny with the Dodgers, even though he was juicing hahaha
fr when he came to the dodgers i just loved him even more idc about juicing he was a beast with the sox’s
Don't care about juicing
So was everyone else man. It was pretty much an equal playing field
MANNYWOOD!
Jamie Della Most definitely not everyone. Manny embarrassed his legacy and won’t ever sniff the HOF.
I remember waking up to that front page of the Boston Globe. What a glorious day in Red Sox history.

The sweetest RH swing I've ever seen
I agree !!
Manny had the best RH swing and Griffey Jr. the best LH swing
And us yankees fans hated Manny Ramirez ever since he tried killing Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers in that central American jungle
Mitch Qumstein nah, it was Lennox Lewis 100%! Lol
Yall are idiots, it was bob marley
😂😂

When’s part two? This video made me cry because I miss baseball so much.
I concur. As a Dominican around that time, the Blue Jays was the team to follow.
The baby bull was the man. As a life long Indians fan he was so great to watch and also as a red Sox fan it was great to continue to cheer for him. Man ram is the man
manman this is hands down one of the best videos of tribute i ever seen,....
Kenny lofton, Omar visquel, manny, Albert belle, and Jim Thome was my childhood’s murderers row. Fun times to be a tribe fan!
Damn right! That ‘95 team was insanely good. I will always love the tribe. Cleveland Rocks!!
I played against manny on a rainy day on long island in early 90. Herricks high school field during fall ball. He homered right down the 3rd base line into the tennis courts. I went yard as well. Great memory.

Manny was the kid on that Cleveland team. Most of those guys were established big leaguers. Great situation for him to be in a lineup with Belle.
I was there at his return to Fenway Park in 2010. I had some pretty bad seats but he hit a mammoth double. It was very exciting to be a part of.
Here in Dominican, there's good hitters, amazing hitters, insane hitters, and then there's Manny. What a beast.
You have japan, Taiwan, Venezuela, and other countries that love baseball, but in DR, it’s in another level
Manny was my favorite baseball player growing up.
I don’t understand how this channel is not more popular the videos are so good!
I am from the Cleveland area and I knew of a girl whose friend was dating Manny . She called his place and asked if her friend was there and he said yeah and hung up the phone . Manny being Manny .

The very same Bob Hamelin who is on the greatest baseball card ever mass produced?
Manny doing that for his first hit is all you have to really know about Manny......the beginning of the legacy.
Manny Ramirez was one of the greatest hitters who ever lived. Dude could roll out of bed and go 3-4 with a homer and 3 RBI. Natural Born Hitter.
Grrrrreat presentation of Manny Ramirez' Cleveland era. Thank you for the deep dive
Manny moved to NYC but shows a Chicago Skyline 😂 great video though really enjoyed this. My pops actually played with manny on that dominate youth service team. Which is that “YSL” hat he has on.

Manny was my favorite the whole time he was here in Boston. Even the last couple seasons.
Very enjoyable video. Look forward to Part 2.
