That was fun! I honestly think the Bisley cabinet was a steal. I also liked the Saturn rocket. Nice to see some kits out there that even I couldn't make a mess of! All the best.
Hello there @michaelstraker1027 and thanks for watching, yes the Bisley cabinet was a bit of a steal, LOL i am more than capable of making a mess though i find the whole concept of this modelling malarkey fun. be seeing you.
Best ever charity shop find 20 years ago was 5 hasegawa 1/72 Japanese aircraft models which were Japanese Issue for about 15 quid and inside one I found 10k yen Which for years I thought was fake but was real of all places I Bought the kits was Sunderland weird but profitable
Hi Andy. Well an interesting haul. For me I liked the first Spitfire you pulled out and the Typhoon is the find of the day. I have always wanted a Saturn V so you have done well there. The rest I will pass on. But the cabinet , what a great find. Things like these are very useful to all modellers. Maximum storage minimum space , well done. I make my own storage boxes from 'For Sale ' signs. I cut them up and then make trays from the same material. I use them to put my complete models in. There very strong and can transport all of my 1/72nd vehicle kits. I have made two so far , when there finished I spray them in camoflage colours. A different pattern for each side. Storage is importantfor us modellers so keep your eye open for any other items that help with your kits. Those big plastic container boxes are good for putting kits in and you can stack them. I know that B&Q do some big one's. Anyway I,m rambling. Well done. Good luck bud.
Hi Brian, oh yes the cabinet great find perfect size for paints and stuff and is FULL already. I know what you mean by the for Sale Signs made up of a very tough material good idea that is.
Heads to one of the many charity shops in my village, guarantee they’ll have none and I’m looking forward to seeing the drawers when finished, great idea 🫡👏🏻👍🏻
hello there @simonrichards6739 Yes well this haul is the result of many visits over many weeks, but you never know, i gonna wait until spring before tackling the drawers, too brrrr cold at mo.
Nice haul! Definitely put camo on your cabinet, with roundels on the sides. It will make a nice place to store all your Spitfire kits. 🙂👍🏻 I like the Apollo 11 kit. Built one ages ago as a kid. I’ll probably do another for nostalgia. The Typhoon is good too. Well done. 👍🏻
Hello there @FrankDB61-vr9wd and thanks for watching, yes roundals that would be a good idea. Revell also do a 1/96 scale apollo.................pretty BIG.
Nice haul. Dig that small cabinet. If I lived in the UK I'd pay you for the 1/48 as that's the scale I'll be focusing on when it comes to planes. I have a niece who frequents 2nd hand shops and I told her to look out for model kits and so far this year I've gotten the Revell 1/720 'USS Franklin from the late 60's, an Aoda Hobby kits 1/72 HH-60D Night Hawk helicopter and two 70's Monogram 1/48's of the Thunderbolt P47D and Corsair F4U-4 respectively. Extra cool with old kits from my childhood. Pluss an assortment of 1/24 car parts that will fit nicely with future custom builds.
@flightis3dollars the cabinet is FULL already, i need another 2 LOL. Seems you niece is doing a good job for you bargain hunting. i think one of the Starkits will be used for "experiMENTAL" purposes the other i will try give away LOl.
Very rarely find model kits in our charity shops (op shops) and the couple I did find had been started with bits missing. But then, what would I want with more model kits? 😎
Hello there @anthonywallace8534 and thanks for watching. I plan to make a small hut that i can sit in out of kit boxes...................at some point LOL.
😎 Nice haul there lad ,welljell 😭 of the draws ,don't know about cammo . Saturn V back of the net, looked small box until you went in shot ,saw it @ Kennedy Space centre was big there also 😂😂. Looks like nephew's gonna like uncle Andy 👍👍
If you wanted a Saturn V you could have just waited until your Fairy Liquid ran out and sprayed the bottle white… Loving the cabinet, though! Old skool modelling storage. All you need now is some tobacco tins.
Wow Andy! Nice haul there mate! 👌 A spitfire is a spitfire is a spitfire! Those airfix mk1a sets are really good, simple and go together OK, can't go wrong. The typhoon set is probably one of the best sets from airfix for a while (starter set money) and makes a really decent model. The Saturn rocket is awesome and looks all there and the Titanic will be a bit of easy stressless modelling to finish it off. The starfix S#%TE should be sent to landfill immediately! Nuff said! And that chest is wicked! That's an awesome find and so useful. All in all quite a remarkable little haul mate! I've got 2 shops in my area and haven't seen any kits at all! 😒🥺 Maybe some ratbag snaps em up when they appear and sells them on Ebay! 😂 Anyhoo...... Nice work that man! 👏 👏 Be seeing you.......
Yeah well Two of the Airfix Spits were from one charity shop and the cashier was incredulous that she hadn't seen them and snapped them up................to put on EBay, one of the Starfix's will be used for an experiMENTAL build and will try give the other away to a viewer .....interested Bobby ? LOL
@TheNoviceModeller 😱🙈🤯 OM f%$#ng G! The horror! 🤣🤣 🤣 I like what you did with the experimental! 👌👍 One things for sure mate, it's never dull on your channel! 😁 As ever Andy, keep on keeping on! Laters! 👊
Hello there @timselbie3419 and thanks for watching. your Lancaster sounds like it would make a good shelf mate for My Italeri Shorts Stirling which was my first lucky charity shop find for £9.99.
You did exceedingly well finding Saturn V kit for the price that you paid.May I make a suggestion, have you tried looking in TK Maxx? They do sometimes have kits at decent prices. Last December I found the Revell/Zvezda Star Destroyer for around 60.00 pounds, about half price I think. It doesn't always happen, but it might be worth a try.Good luck.
thanks @paulmanners8736 i will have a look in TK maxx next time i am there as £50 sounds a good price. Charity shop hunting is very hit and miss, i trawl my local ones about 0nce or twice a week, this ios the result of several months, you just have to be lucky.
GOOD PICKING ANDY,I HAVE A BUNCH OF THOSE STARFIX KITS.PICK THEM UP ON CLEARENCE ABOUT30 YRS. AGO AT WORK.I FOUND ABOUT 10 KITS OF 1/72 SCALE ARMOR AND TROOPS. , AIRFIX AURORA ESCI AND A AMT/ERTL"BATTLE OF OKINAWA" DIORAMA KIT.THEY WERE IN A BOX WERE I PUT THEM IN 97. TAKE CARE
LOL @ewmhop it'll be interesting to see how they come out, i think i will try giving one of the 1/48 spits away when i build it, i am not expecting a rush of willing viewers LOl.
A good haul but I reckon the Bisley drawers are the biggest bargain: I have a few sets and they are invaluable. I wouldn't paint them in camouflage for two reasons, 1. The finish on the drawer units is very good and it would be difficult to find a paint as durable. 2. You might not be able to find them once painted. Best wishes.
Hi George , the drawers are great and if i can find another set for the price i'll have their hands off. A fair point about durability of paint though i think they will look pretty cool and they will be indoors etc.
Here's an idea for the Starfix Spitfire. Being 1/48 with raised details it would be a good test mule for rescribing lines. Use one as reference for the other as to where the lines should go after you remove them from the other. Being a cheap kit it doesn't matter as much if you don't get it perfect but you'll learn a new skill in the process.
@Adam_Boots thats a pretty good idea i may do that, i am not sure which of my "power tools" to use though LOL. On a more serious note though i was thinking about doing something experimental with oneof the Starfix kits and then "trying" to give the other away to a viewer.
@TheNoviceModeller Maybe half and half on the Starfix then. Rescribe one half of the kit while leaving the other half as original. Show how it can completely change the look of a finished kit. Weathering panel lines on raised details is very different than recessed ones. Removing raised lines isn't actually too hard. I find it's actually easier to use a sharp blade and actually scrape them off and then just use a bit of wet dry sandpaper to smooth it off.
Good morning everyone, yes I’d say that moon rocket was a good deal and once built it looks quite impressive. Ha ha , is this Spitfire sunday did I miss something ? The 1/72 spitfire must be the father of all model kits . I’ll look into these charité shops from now on as I have quite a few around my place.
@TheNoviceModeller OK so thats probably the one that appears on the model shows , quite massive indeed. Did you know they also offer your 1/24 red Jag in a massive 1/9 scale ?
Hello again @Alan_Saund_Models they are hard to track down in charity shops, perseverance is the name of the game and having 8 shops on my doorstep also helps.
I regularly trawl the local charity shops for kits. Its rare to find many. Any large or decent kits tend to be highly priced, considering they were given to them. The reason you don't find many 1/35..... Most get ebayed, by the charities.
i think you are right about them being ebayed @fredmargerum1486, the Apollo the Titanic and a Spit were all out of the back room (not on display) i only got them because i asked, two other spits were from another shop and the cashier asked me whether i was going to Ebay them and said if she had seen them she would of bought them to stick on ebay.
Nice haul of charity shop kits. I have found some in the past including some Matchbox kits one of these was the 1/72 Lancaster. Are those starfix kits worse than Mister Craft?
Hello there @davidsirett5560 and thanks for watching, i think my best find was an Italeri Shorts Stirling for £9.99 though this Revell apollo looks pretty good too.
I am going to build a Ventura Spit shortly, have been in contact with a company called Jays, who currently make them from the original 90's mouldings, they are kindly sending me a couple of freebies to give away when i come to build them, one in Feb, one in March are the planned giveaway dates.
Nice but tricky to paint perfecty the large circles . Man your drawers would look like a BoB spitfire or a mod’s scooter in Brighton back in the 70s but they will look better than in office grey ! 🙂
That was fun! I honestly think the Bisley cabinet was a steal. I also liked the Saturn rocket. Nice to see some kits out there that even I couldn't make a mess of! All the best.

@martryan2060 bargains are to be had in charity shops and they were a bargain.
That's one of your best videos yet,in my opinion. A chest of drawers right at the end, had me in stitches. I don't know what the purists will say lol
thanks @bradmarlowe8334 LOL the Bisley drawer are great they are FULL already i wouldve thought the "purists" will be drooling with envy PMSL.

always worth a look in the charity shops got myself a 1/24 hurricane mk1 airfix for a tenner.
When the Airfix 1/24 kits first came out in early 1970s they costed less then a tenner
a 1/24 for a tenner @lookingforagoodcop.7409 nw thats a BARGAIN!

ein paar Staffeln Spitfires und ein paar BF109, denn das ist mein anderes zahlreiches Flugzeug, ein bisschen wie ein Luftkampf, könnte man sagen
Nice haul! Definitely put camo on your cabinet, with roundels on the sides. It will make a nice place to store all your Spitfire kits. 🙂👍🏻

Can’t beat adding to you stash keep collecting 😊

thanks @steve1315 the drawers are full already and yes the saturn 5 rocket looks pretty interesting, though Revelldo a bigger one in 1/96.
Really nice find Andy , very hard pass up a bargain even if you have a few of the same kitts already 😂
Cant resist a bargain
@kieranfox6633
If you wanted a Saturn V you could have just waited until your Fairy Liquid ran out and sprayed the bottle white… Loving the cabinet, though! Old skool modelling storage. All you need now is some tobacco tins.
@jefthing Kit comparison vid Revell vs Fairy liquid LOL. thanks the drawers are a full already.
Had giggle at the 2.5 rating on the dvd 😂😂😂
@ianhay8938 as yet unwatched LOL.

What a haul, my only success to date is a 70th anniversary lancaster dambuster for £10 !

really, i might look for it but the wallet will stay shut LOL.
Been looking in Charity shops for donkey years and all I found was one Spitfire...
Hello again @Alan_Saund_Models they are hard to track down in charity shops, perseverance is the name of the game and having 8 shops on my doorstep also helps.
You did well. I figured that you would buy a few starfix kits. They are shitty. I love the prices on the airfix kits. They are good kits.
@johnbollig2790 LOL i have past experience with the Starfix, i wonder what power tools i should use on them LOL?
@TheNoviceModeller Belt sander, TNT , welding helmet.
LOL the TNT may cause me a problem.

Paint the drawer set in Berlin Brigade cammo!
That would be an interesting camo scheme @jimwilson5338
Nice sized model⛄😊
Thanks @susanellis7780 a bargain.
The wings on the 1/48 spots look to small?
i think its the "clipped wing" variety though unsure whether thats correct as per the mk.
The Titanic kit should have included four funnels - were the masts included?
@@PiperStart its à Tritannic
@PiperStart It looks complete though not exactly shore.
You can't have to many spitfires or P-51s
@davep7308 i could do with a few more P-51's, though Spitfires LOL.
Maybe you can do some spitfire kit giveaways on the channel when the time is right Andy. It's either that or a big diorama with buildings etc. 🙂
I am going to build a Ventura Spit shortly, have been in contact with a company called Jays, who currently make them from the original 90's mouldings, they are kindly sending me a couple of freebies to give away when i come to build them, one in Feb, one in March are the planned giveaway dates.
How about a huge RAF roundel on the side ?
@KLOSTER777 your the second to suggest that so i will give it some serious consideration.
Nice but tricky to paint perfecty the large circles . Man your drawers would look like a BoB spitfire or a mod’s scooter in Brighton back in the 70s but they will look better than in office grey ! 🙂
Hi Andy. As a british you are bound to have as many Spits as you can xd.
Hi Luis, thanks but i think about 50 is a bit extreme PMSL.
