    Hikaru streams on twitch - www.twitch.tv/gmhikaru - you go there and click the heart at the top of the screen and you will be following him. You should get notifications although you may have to change your twitch setup to allow for the kind of notifications that you want. You can do that here: www.twitch.tv/settings/notifications . Hikaru is scheduled to stream on Friday at noon Pacific, 3 Eastern, 9pm Central Europe, 12:30 am India Standard Time (technically on Saturday) . Come say hi to us if you can!

    I really like how this highlights how the games get more alligned to better chess as we go on. I struggle in the 1700-1800 range because I feel like I should be winning those games off instinct and waiting for a mistake like in the 1500 and 1600 range. But seeing Hikaru have to actually think a bit and pay attention in the position rather than just premoving the whole game really keeps me humble and inspires me to focus more in my own games in this rating range. If the best of the best has to focus a bit here, I certainly have to focus as well. Thanks Hikaru

      BROis I disagree. I’ve been beat by actual engines as well as stomped out by humans much better then me. There’s never an excuse to insult your opponent, it’s bad for chess and shows poor character but if you think insults are ok after blundering your rook, it’s your right to hold such an opinion. Although, I’d suggest you don’t play anyone OTB if you feel that way.

    Very interesting comment regarding the memory of a Super GM (47:09 ). Did it become so great mostly because of playing chess or is it more of a genetics thing?

    • @user-gx6dl6lt9c
      @user-gx6dl6lt9c 4 года назад

      the memory of a GM is great no doubt, but mostly regarding chess. Anyone who specializes has a great memory at one thing. Drivers who drive 10 hours a day for years know every single bump on the road after driving once there. Because theyre so used to what they do, they have almost a perfect memory. For example a professional cook is better at remembering recipes than hikaru even if hikaru's memory may be superior. However genetics is also a big part (as well as many other factors that made Hikaru what he is in the first place)

    • @andresgenta8242
      @andresgenta8242 4 года назад

      @@user-gx6dl6lt9c I agree, but in this case Hikaru was remembering the username of a random player, so that wasn't chess memory at all. It is clear that his memory is quite good in general (not only in chess). I wonder how much chess contributes in improving general memory.

    Disconnecters are annoying, but you know what's worse? when they don't disconnect and let just let the time run out. It's especially infuriating when you're playing longer games and they still have a lot of time on the clock.

    What did the guy mean by clownpusher?

    • @sanitary103
      @sanitary103 4 года назад +7

      the closest term I've heard is wood pusher, meaning patzers who simply move pieces without purpose. that's where he probably got the term pusher from. the clown part is him insulting Hikaru b/c he's pissed. however, the actual two words put together don't make sense honestly, lol.

      there are these inflatable clown punching bags for kids which they punch and push. so "clownpushing" would probably mean the same as woodpushing - to play very fast, with no tactical creativity or deep positional ideas, just waiting for opponent to blunder. it's a hilarious term when you think about it lol

      I thought clownpusher is like sandbagging? It means he’s bullying people way below his level.

    • @brois841
      @brois841 4 года назад +1

      No, he was never going to give him anything, he just said that after the fact. If anything, azumith definitely deserved something for getting adopted and nothing happened. So it was just empty chest-beating from Hikaru. Very unlike him, actually.

    • @petewest3122
      @petewest3122 4 года назад

      He's given them out in the past to lower ranked players who gave him a good game. There's to reason to doubt that Hikaru would have done the same this time, too.
