27.5 ain't dead!!! I demo 29ers all the time and when I go back to my 27.5, it feels more nimble and playful. I can whip the 27.5 around so much better. Hard to pull the trigger on a 29er. Great video man!
27.5 is good 29 is good even a 26 if it had updated geo would be good, cant be chasing all the marketing hoopla youll give yourself a headache and at the end of the day its the rider's ability that makes the biggest difference
I’m 5’4 and size small on most brands but seems SC sizing are smaller than usual so I got the medium with 35mm stem and it’s perfect. So medium is okay for 5’4-5’10 and that’s a big range
I've watched many of your videos and was not surprised at all by your reaction to the Bronson. It's truly the sweet spot in the aggressive trail/enduro spectrum. I have the same reaction of feeling like I have way more control and confidence on the 27.5" bikes and I don't ever see myself riding a 29er with any more than 120mm maybe 130mm for epic XC days if I ever decide to do them. ;) The Bronson is just too fun!
I have a 2018 Spectral 6.0/AL and it came with 27.5X2.6, 30 MM inner width wheels. I recently got a pair on 2019 Mavic XA carbon wheels with their new 40 tooth hub, running 2.6 Vittoria Mezcal which is better suited to my style of riding, lower rolling resistance than the DHF and I don't seem to be missing any traction , also added semi metallic pads and really feel the improvement once they were broken in
@@jctrails When I upgraded the wheelset I installed 2.6 Mezcal, noticeable improvement in rolling resistance and traction on leaves, pine needles, in fine so I don't feel I lost anything. Will keep the DT M1900 wheels and stock tires for backup or sell but not going to give away if I decide to sell bike with stock wheels and seat for a lower price.
Of course 27.5 ain't dead they're much more playfull than the 29er. Sadly I dont have a Bronson but I've got a Megatower and I put a 27.5 in the back and its the dream...😂👍😍
I just picked up my first bike which is a Specialized pitch comp 1X 27.5 hardtail, I want a full suspension bike I got my eye on the Specialized Stumpjumper comp 29. And I think those are perfect combination
Plus (or mid-fat) used to be defined as 2.8 - 3.2, but 2.6 is being referred to as plus nowadays. Have you considered trying a 'mullet' configuration with a 29 front and 27.5 (+) rear? Great review!
great to hear your positive review of it. i bought an aluminum R+ build Industry Blue Bronson earlier this year to be my main bike and i love it. even on the entry level build the only thing i ever felt was lacking so far was the stock hub engagement, but i9 hydra hubs fixed that.
Am also 5'10", really annoying to work out bike size. Usually go M because I don't want a too-large bike, has to be fun. Great review, think I'm sold. Need to get back on a 27.5" bike - 29 is fast, but not as fun.
It seems for the most part, every Bronson V3 owner, including myself, is very happy with his bike. I like to hear all reviews of the Bronson V3 from actual owners; especially long term reviews. I have had my B3 for 15 months now, and I feel like it is one bad ass bike. I actually prefer my Bronson over the Megatower X01 build that is straight from the Factory. I have not found a 29er or any bike that is more fun than the Bronson. I am now running a Cascade Link with 170mm Fox 36 Grip2 front and Fox X2 in the rear; and my Bronson is a Smasher! Such a fun bike my Bronson is. The Cascade Link is amazing, she definitely feels more plush all the way around with the link, she also seems to ride higher too, and she now pops better with the Cascade. You can run a Fox X2 without Cascade Link and just running the Fox X2 with No Cascade did wonders for her progression (3 tokens and running more HSC and HSR). I am iffy on the fork at 170mm, she lost a lot of her awesome trail manners and now I struggle more on the the same really technical uphill sections than I did when she was at 160mm. Bike also felt harder to pump and flow through the flats and berms as she felt more unbalanced at 170mm. However, this is probably something I can get use to with time, so I am still going to run her at 170mm for at least 10 more rides before I make a decision. For the Steep Chunk going down though, she does become a much better smasher at 170mm. For a combo of fun park bike + general trail duty + DH smasher, I do NOT think there is a better bike out there than my personal Bronson V3.
@@jctrails Well, you know, with several manufacturers turning toward the SuperBoost 157mm rear hub, they'll probably find 160mm is even better! 😂 ...a year or three after which they'll reintroduce it as a 2-speed hub x 7 cog rear cluster with a completely different spline configuration. 🤣
Sweet bike, I had one for a few months this summer, mostly north shore riding in Vancouver. I've had a few nice bikes but this was the best all round bike I've ever rode. 2019 Bronson 27.5 is insanely capable, bottomless feel. Did you change from low to high setting? My one complaint is that is that it was a pain to change from H to L setting due to the position of the shock/ suspension linkages. Highly Recommend the bike overall.
Hey JC Trails, Have you tried the Stumpy 27.5 LT? I know you had the 29 LT and now the 29 ST but curious to know if you were able to demo the 27.5 version. I demo’d the 29 LT as well as the 2019 Bronson and ended up with the Stumpy 27.5 LT... Before that I had 2016 Stumpy 29 and sold it for a 2013 Blur TRC 26.
JC TRAILS hahah no joke! Looks like a fun change in the toolbox! Also with that 29 front! Should be super interesting to see what’s in store next for your bike story!
That bike is so quiet. Absolutely no creaks or rattles. Being 5’10” too , I ride a large 29”enduro bike which I love, but I’m looking for a second bike that’s more nimble and playful. I’ve never even been on a 27.5 bike. Was leaning towards an Ibis Ripley, but now you’ve got me wondering again. Any thoughts?
The HT will take 27.5x2.8. I’d be really curious to know how your HT compares to the Bronson. I guess SC recommends running the bike in the high position if you give that a try
Bout time brother- what took you so long?!? LOL. Two minutes after throwing my leg over one on a demo weekend I knew it was my next ride. Love mine. Everything you said is dead on. I’ve done bike park on Sat and ridden on tarmac on Sun. It is so versatile and capable. I went R+ bc I want to upgrade to Shimano 12 speed drive train eventually. So far I have put a 35 mm stem, Renthal 30 mm rise bars, 70 mm cranks and the best upgrade- Saint Brakes with a 203 mm rear rotor. So good. I don’t think 2.6 is plus because, while you can get the benefits of plus in gnar by lowering the psi and extra traction, just pump ‘em up a bit more and they have no squishy drawback in corners like 2.8 or wider. Gonna upgrade hub to an I9 bc I want something faster engaging when I’m pedaling through gnar, and might upgrade seatpost to a Transfer. But damn I love the bike. Don’t miss the flip switch- In fact I appreciate a linkage that doesn’t require it. So did you get the Industry Blue?? That’s the color of mine- killer- get compliments all the time. You can get downtube stickers from SC in any color to personalize it. If you haven’t bought it yet try the Large too- I’m same height as you and actually went XL and it fits fine- I just stay centered more now on turns. Looking forward to future vids on the this subject. 😊🤘 This was before the brake mod. ruclips.net/video/87DcqRhy9Io/видео.html

Dude! I agree ☝️
I just did the same-rode a 29er for the last year and although it certainly has its advantages, the 27.5 is just more agile and fun

Love my 2019 industry blue Bronson too.
I love my Bronson. Do all bike. Adjust my tire pressure 10 psi up or down. All my other setting stay the same.
Steady Spin the Bronson can pretty much handle anything you throw at it. Total bruiser!

I have a 2018 Spectral 6.0/AL and it came with 27.5X2.6, 30 MM inner width wheels.
