It's funny you uploaded this as I finished BNA (Brand New Animal) and then this game where humans also turn into animals is brought back to my attention. Seriously if they bring this franchise back Shirou the Wolfman from BNA needs to be a guest character. Imagine the trailer when him and Yugo meet!
I love how this comments section is full of people just now learning that games sometimes get released with different titles in different regions/formats.
Their was a lot added to the PS1. Story animations, art clips, an aranged sound track, and many more. Beastorizer has no story. You just fight to be top dog. In Bloody Roar each character has a background story. The gameplay is the same, but Bloody Roar has so much more. For the first time in history, a console has bested an arcade machine.
in my country, this game is called animal battleground we still have a community on this game, we also create a online version for BR2, BR3 yup, online version
Wow it's been a ( LONG ) time I haven't seen or play this in a while I hope that some company that will bring this awesome game once more on a larger scale on next gen. Consoles great gameplay
@@bashirjohnson4120 Oh i most definitively would love it. Even a fan made one would suffice considering bloody roar 2 is still my favorite and i still got my original copy of it.
Bloody Roar was released in the U.S. arcades as "Beastorizor." Back in the 90s it was common for game publishers to change the title of the game for overseas release to make it sound EDGIER to appeal to Western audience. And example of this would be Capcom USA changing the arcade game Red Earth's name to Warzard, and Pocket Fighter to Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix (the latter which was promptly changed back upon home console release).
1:55 🤯 Never heard of nor played this game before but the in game mechanics of this game are phenomenal. 2:47 The way the character transformed during the attack was amazing.
You gonna be stunned by the second part if you think the mechanics and transformations here, are fluid. The second one has the most responsive movement and fighting I ever saw in a fighting game. And after the second part the series slowly started to go down. Alas...
@@LordMetalSonic1987 No. Bloody Roar is always called Bloody Roar in Japan. The American publisher for this game decided to change the name to "Beastorizor" upon release in U.S. arcades to make it sound EDGIER in order to appeal to American audience. When it was ported to home console, the name went back to Bloody Roar. In Japan, Bloody Roar has ALWAYS been called Bloody Roar.
@@sdlock83 That's what I basically said, that "Beastorizer" was the North American title for Bloody Roar; I actually remember playing Beastorizer on the original Playstation.
Nope, Beastorizer was the name only for the US Arcade release, then on PS1 came as Bloody Roar like in japan and the series continued under that title.
Arcade years 80/90, without a doubt, the best time!

Oh, so I wasn't the only one who noticed
BNA's story setup is basically the same as Bloody Roar Primal Fury, but without the tournament.

The Bloody Roar might be better on Sega Saturn.
Wow, those illustrated portraits on the character select screen look miles better than the ps1 port's CG models.
Bloody Roar en Árcade que genial!

Doubtful when you consider the company that made the game went out of business for some time... But hey, never a good idea to lose hope :p
