In any case, actual climate change could be affected by so many variables that making assertions that the earth is going to be uninhabitable due to cow farts and fossil fuels, is a bit absurd. Even so, for decades the fossil fuel industry has spread disinformation for short-sighted, small minded profits, much like the tobacco industry did during the 50's.

Now that it’s 2023 and Florida has mostly been underwater for three years now really makes me glad I donated all my coastal properties to the loving government to take care of so I didn’t have to worry anymore. I honestly had someone seriously tell me that sea levels not rising in obvious locations is expected, and that the rising is concentrated into other locations. That gravity something or other keeps the water in a location until it breaks out and then floods everything.

The reason sea level rise doesn't occur uniformly is not because of water being kept in a location like a box (water is fluid and yes it can't be just segmented like that), but there are pockets of warm and cold water in every body of water. E.g. when you for a swim in a lake, there are pockets of water that feel cold and pockets that feel warm right? Weather is based on these different pockets of cool and warm air, based on different parts of the ocean having these different pockets. This means that winds will move differently in different places, causing prevailing wind patterns that push water towards land more in certain areas.
The gravity part is to do with the fact that earth is not a uniform sphere. There are mountains above land and there are canyons in the sea, alongside all the other topographical differences causing differences in mass. Gravity is related to mass, so there are natural differences in gravity all around the earth. A heavier object will have more gravitational pull - i.e., the ice sheets in the northern hemisphere are currently 'holding' water in that area (not in a box, but gravitationally). As those ice sheets melt, the gravitational pull lessens, causing water to move away from that area. As there is a larger gravitational pull at that area, water moves further away causing increased sea levels further from the source point. If you do this all around the world, given it's not a uniform sphere, it makes sense that sea level rise is not uniform.
Hope that helps, I'm not a climate scientist, just another person curious about things and willing to do some research. Happy to discuss more if I've misconstrued any of the above.

The In Search Of The Coming Ice Age program is always my " go to" argument when it comes to climate change. I just tell ppl to watch what scientists were saying then. One person who is vastly more educated than I am ( he's a college professor) told me that it's good science when they change their minds 😂

It's almost like people can make mistakes in science. New physics concepts are being discovered every day. But if you look at the Co2 levels and global temperature rise, something IS off
@@alpacaofthemountain8760 nothing is off. They literally lowered temperatures during the early 20th century to make it appear temperatures have risen very fast. There is warming primarily coming from our oceans that appears to be driven by clouds. Not CO2. This warming is natural and is not rising as fast as they claim. Ice core data shows rapid warming in the past on par with today. Another fraud is global thermometer placement feeding into GHCN V4 in which our coldest regions have sparse to no thermometers. So it is like determining the average temperature of a refrigerator by placing most thermometers near the door, none in the freezer, and a couple in the vegetable bin… huge warming bias. The developers even discussed that and were gleeful they had removed the “cooling bias.” Not to mention in 1880 there were 200 global thermometers compared to over 7000 today the vast majority of which are located in urban heat zones where concrete raises city temperatures up to 8 degrees. Finally ask yourself a basic question. If it were solely CO2 as NASA and NOAA claim then CO2 ppm would be a global footprint raising global temperatures rather uniformily under their “correct theory” of CO2 radiative forcing but we don’t see that globally. The radiative forcing can not increase heat, what it does is scatter radiation and when there is cloud cover it remains under a blanket. Now you might be thinking, but why? Well, the IPCC former chair said CO2 had nothing to do with climate change and everything to do with changing the global economy. The current global economy is driven by the PetroDollar that elevated the U.S. Dollar to world reserve currency status and greatly enriched OPEC countries. Energy is vast wealth. By destroying oil and replacing the PetroDollar with green energy systems then US monetary dominance goes away and “in theory” each country on earth can develop their economies in a equitable manner.
CO2 is great for humans as energy consumers and is great for a rapidly greening earth. Oil is Green Energy.

Climate change is a real thing. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, the fact that some people don't think that it's a real thing baffles me.
I always felt like the giant concrete warehouses and asphalt parking lots that were built over existing farmland and orchards was warmer than it was before, but, whatever ever JP says with JC on his side, I'm all in.

The earth’s atmosphere contains .4% co2. It has gone up from .3% in the past 2-3 decades. If it goes down to .2% the earth will lose most plant life and the majority of life on earth will parish. Politicians who make laws involving the climate and environment actually were asked how much co2 was in the earth’s atmosphere. They responded with 5% and some actually believed they’re was 8-10%.
A concentration of 0.5% C02 is the US occupational safety limit for an 8 hour period. 1.5% is known to cause light symptoms in some people, at 3% more severe symptoms can present, and at 7% - 10%, there’s a significant chance of a human falling unconscious and suffocating to death. 5-10% wasn’t just bad answers, it’s an answer that shows such a fundamental lack of knowledge on one of the core elements of what their panel is meant to assess, that it’s impossible for me to feel comfortable with these people dealing with anything emissions related.
You're not allowed to mention the greening that's been occurring after managing to liberate a tiny amount of the CO2 that's been lost from the atmosphere over the aeons.
Here... focus instead on the potential 1°C temperature rise over 100 years that we definitely don't experience way more of in a single day, or the extreme weather events that totally don't kill 95% fewer people than they did 100 years ago, despite populations being way higher...
Plants need co2. We need oxygen. It's called photosynthesis.

Check the Fossil and Geologic records. Been way more CO2 in the air before and everything was fine.
