basically, this song is him wanting to forget everything and return to the time he didn't know anything, to the times where he was most at peace as you said. he misses his "blue side", the time where he was still young, clueless, ambitious, innocent, happy, and at peace. i think this is why the track sounds so peaceful and calm, it's an audible reminisce or want of him longing for his "blue side".
j-hope is the most versatile he’s so talented the emotion he conveys in his voice is so moving his music is BEAUTIFUL

I have been so out of touch I forgot this song existed 😔 whenever I listened to this song I always got reminded of one word : serenity. Blue is such a colour that could make me feel at ease anytime. I imagined how it felt for hobi to be creating the music 😌💙
I just love how this is the closing track of an album that focuses on how he has chosen to become an emblem of hope for people... but sometimes he still longs for the peaceful/ignorant times (the blue side) before the stress and responsibility of being j-hope. The nuance is unmatched.

Blue is a very beautiful colour and I feel like it’s meaning has more depth than anyone can explain in words.
It’s like, a peaceful sadness... of a peaceful loneliness... a quiet yet pensive melancholy... it’s something that you have to feel in order to understand.
*blue has mixed connotations because it can mean peace and serenity but it also means sadness/depression - in his [2018] vlive when he explained this track, he said it was feelings he felt when he was younger ["when i didn't know anything"], and how he wants to go back to those times ["i want to hug you, even if it's not possible"]*
