- In this Microsoft Access tutorial, I will show you how to professionally mask the Access interface to impress your clients with functionality while dispelling biases. From custom startup forms, shortcuts with unique icons, to splash screens, we tackle it all in a straightforward, actionable checklist. This tutorial is designed to elevate your database, making it look less like Access and more like a bespoke software solution. Stay tuned for how to streamline your applications aesthetic.
Shane from Evanston, Illinois (a Platinum Member) asks: How can I showcase the capabilities of Microsoft Access without making it obvious that I'm using it? Some of my customers don't realize how powerful and awesome Access really is, and they prefer software built with other tools. I want to highlight the functionality and strength of the software I create without drawing attention to it being built in Access. I definitely wouldn't lie about it, and if asked, I would be honest, but I'd rather they see the quality of work first without any biases.

Richard, thanks for this video series! Its great having all the "concealing " steps in one series!
Yep, it's a good checklist to have. I've covered all this stuff in various different videos, but this is the first time I've put it all together.
all thumbs up to the BEST ACCESS teacher Richard Rost. Thank you for another valuable tutorials
Good Job, Thank you.
Great video as always.
Could you possibly take some time to go over how print preview works if you completely turn off the ribbon? I remember messing around with hiding the ribbon last year, but ran into an issue when I had to use print preview. I assumed I would have to have popup form with the buttons , but didn't spend much time on it then and quickly abandon it for a custom ribbon instead. I still think about it from time to time lol
Thank you.
Good simple clear video that does the job....
Thanks
Welcome
Please, can you teach how to make a dashboard in Access because you have many great videos
I have a coworker saying prolly should ditch access too.. use power apps instead. Can access run its forms on a phone application as I think power apps can? With project managers onsite moving around ,being able to ignore the superintendent talking to you and update your tables on your phone does sound nice
If it's for "in-house only", you could probably get away creating a mobile front end to the Access DB. Though if intended to be used from outside the network, then migrating the DB to MySQL, MariaDB, etc, would be best. Then you can create a website, mobile app, or a like form within Excel, or even Word, that has connection to the online DB server.
front forms pop up yes modal yes and in the icon in the desktop minimized windows and yo got just the forms as a app
