I agree this is a good version, and I also agree that famous organists play it from memory. I don't know if there is a version on RUclips, but my favorite organist remains Michel Chapuis (who passed 5 years away). His complete recording of Bach's organ work on several famous organs is awesome.
The only other time I've heard this performed was when a student at my boarding school was rehearsing it on a magnificent and rather small Flentrop organ. I was the only other person in the chapel. Both this and that earlier practice performance were magnificent and inspiring.
Agree all the laudatory comments. Aggressive pedal work and articulation really outstanding. Side note: Tony Perkins screams out this tune as he is driving to his destruction in final scene of movie Phaedra (1962).
LG.M.
vindebyvej The Organ builder is Grönlunds orgelbyggeri in Gammelstad outside Luleå in the north of Sweden. The organ is located in Luleå cathedral. Grönlunds are to my knowledge one of the top organ builders in Sweden at least, and also built the organ in the concert hall in Stockholm (where the Nobel dinner and celebration is held).
One of my top-favourite brilliant performances of one of my all-time favourite organ pieces. Bravo Markus! 👏
Great clarity and definition; balanced selection of stops. A great pleasure to listen.
Assolutamente d'accordo!!!

I'm touched. Beside everything else, that crystal clear, strong, loud bass. Remarcable instrument, too.
Astounding. World class playing.
World class? Really? Well, I have to agree!
I know this piece well. Superbly played.
Wonderful organ and perfect execution. Very good! Bravo!
My favorite version on RUclips. I like the registration, the tempo, and he's PLAYING FROM MEMORY!!!
I agree, good version. But a professional organist can easily play from memory, especially for classical pieces like this Toccata.
@@keplergso8369 Just about everyone at least on RUclips seems to have the sheets in front of them though.

Lovely.
This is surely the most masterful performance of the F-major prelude I have ever heard. Bravo!
BRAVO!
Absolutely divine...
Praise be to God our king. Who is fortunate enough to love him?

I believe this to be the best recording of this glorious Toccata - masterful!
Wonderful!!!!
Exceptionnel . Merci .
Absolutely one of the best recordings of this particular Toccata on RUclips. Splendid.

Superbe. Il y a un vrai discours. L'auditeur est heureux...
Definitely a piece I would love to hear for postlude to mass.
Prachtig !
Not a sheet of music in sight, fabulous performance.
Bravo!
Beautifully played on that amazing Grönlunds organ. Tack!
Well done! The right tempo and a wonderful organ timbre 👍
Mooi !
Wow

My brain can't cope with such coordenation between hands and legs, this looks simply to tought to achieve.
Looks a bit like (a mid 90s) Elton John. Excellent registration and performance. Bravo!
Astonishingly terrific! This Is the finest pedal work of this incredible work I've ever heard.
Wow! Some of the best pedal work I've ever seen. What happened to his version of BWV 532 (Fugue in D Major). It's disappeared from youtube.
De gick ju fint!
Resplendent
Great view showing manuals and pedal! Wonderful, energetic tempo! 5:20 Why no trill on pedal G# and no trill on pedal F# at 6:34 ?
Perhaps the answer is the same as why there were no further trills in toxiconegro's video of BWV 548.

Name of organ builder and where the organ is situated....thanks.

Has Gronlunds built any organs in the United States?
@@williambrightman2760 i am not sure but I think that Ive heard about there being one or 2 but I might be wrong
LYSANDE!
Ah my ears, that Zimbel-Mixture
Big growly organ like it's heavy metal or something. Shame i prefer smaller organs
At least Finnish and Swedish churches tend to build large organs, as they have to right to tax their members off their paychecks.
Beautifully played! One of my favorite organ pieces and every time I hear it played it sends chills of excitement up and down my spine!
