X had pushed Zero to his limits always, even when you win against him in X5 as Zero. X still catches Zero offguard. Copy X against a body with inferior durability and lacking a giga attack, still wasn't able to put Zero on his knees.

Cold af! I remember reading that when I was a kid and thinking zero was such a badass.
X is more than just his body's specifications. 30+ Years of AI maturation along with an overabundance of battle history. Copy X may be a perfect copy of X. But that's just a copy of untapped potential. A mature X is constantly adapting and evolving.

Oh come on, at most X got tricked by Mac (who was a former ally) and Double (who looked like a harmless robit throughout the entire game until that big reveal at the end). Even X wouldn't trust Sigma if he suddenly "turned good" after everything he did

I think it was a mistranslation to the japanese version what zero truly meant to say was that x wasnt as simple as him he was a complex coward and worried about everything and that what made him a true hero.

oh yeah 100%, they’re brutal
Theyre harder than all seven of them (with possible execptions if you are doing a challenge run), but X8? I am honestly not so sure. X8 is a hard game as well ans has quite a bit of the brutal elements from Zero games too. Especially on hard mode, which is HARD and normal mode is already harder than your usual Rockman X, harder than X6's XTREME and harder than X7s HARSH mode respectively. So overall the Zero Series and X8 are probably the most brutal set of Rockman games, unless we count that popular fangame Mega Man Unlimited which is debatebly harder than Z-Series AND X8 in terms of platformimg stages and length

And in the end he's extremely disappointed, because the Copy X fights nowhere near as well as the original.

Vile was never that strong though. He canonically gets ROFLstomped in every fight where he isn't cheating.
It's not like X & Zero were unbeatable either since both take losses during the series. It's just that Vile is a scrub and nowhere near the lvl of power or intellect that X & Zero are on.

I like the idea of this being a clone a lot more than the original plan to literally just make him X.
Because X is, always has been & always will be a good boy due to his good boy training before Dr. Cain found him. He cannot and will never go maverick. That's something that should stay consistent in the lore always.
Copy X is a good window into what his personality might end up like if he never underwent that training, and it makes a lot of sense knowing he was created by someone who couldn't have known about the precautions Light took (Ciel).
The only way I could see X being a villain is if it was revealed that at some point X had been corrupted by an external force, somebody like Dr. Weil.
I also love the parallel to zero literally being copy zero (megaman zero 3 spoilers)
@@johndeska1 There's no way X's mind could be corrupted. Not at this point in the story after he's straight-up resisted every attempt from a bunch of difference sources. It's arguably a central part of X's character that he will never become a maverick or anything like it.

i did hours of searching for one of zero's moves and it turns out that it was one of copy x's that heals him he says the name when he use's it.
I know this is a Gameboy game, but something abt Copy X having malevolent, almost demon like red eyes while then turning into a seraphim with even more red eyes 6 wings and levitating claws with a pointed body is kinda irksome if not disturbing. Art style aged really well that it can convey something that unsettling. Also, his body at the end is messed up too.
The 6 wings automatically mean you should take this as Lucifer the Fallen Angel. They probably kept this design because originally, this was supposed to be the real X.

I love Copy X's final form, it is seemingly angelic and godly but sinister and prideful, Copy X laughing, I never imagine X laughing and mocking his opponents

Considering X and Zero are something like the machine god & the machine archdevil respectively, Copy X did pretty well to hang in there as long as he did. Also Zero is right that X was not naive. X was merciful & restrained but he was never a fool like Copy X.

I love how the X series and Zero series had and has a heavy Christianity inspiration. Makes the games unique.
The two series are the only of a few with inspiration of Christianity. I love it. We don't see that in games this days.
I love how X represents god and Zero represents the devil due to him being the god of destruction, then we fight lumine (Lucifer) and sigma is in a form of a demon. The Jakob elevator is the ladder for angels to fly from earth to heaven. Lumine's final attack "paradise lost." The story of the fallen angel. Weil being Satan/demon. Copy X second form being a seraph, the high ranked angels. DAMN, keiji loves roman mythology. Thank you inafune!!!
I've recognized 2 other japanese stories that likes to do the reverse biblical symbolism in the animes The Big O and Kill la Kill, i wonder if this is a japanese thing in animation and video games

Not necessarily. Messianic tropes are extremely common in games - because they present a solid moral base that justifies conflict. Horizon Zero Dawn features Aloy as a messiah, Legend of Zelda has Link, Superman consistently invokes messianic archetypes to show how pure he is, and Kingdom Hearts has Sora.
Any game with even the vaguest hint of a “chosen one” usually draws at least some of its inspiration from Christianity, simply because it’s so easy to use stylistic and thematic tools that almost every player/viewer would recognise to get a point across; that being “THIS IS YOUR GOOD GUY” and “THIS IS EVIL THING KILL IT”.

Yes your score will be affected by using ANY Cyber Elf especially permanent ones (Sub Tank) the best thing to do in this fight is to not engage head on, move away and stick close to walls and wait for chances to strike I may be wrong but that is how I beat him.

If you were in mission, yes. But if you were not in a mission, then it won't affect your rank.
@@heycunt7186 if you use a sub tank, it permanently penalizes your rank. I would know. I'm at like -80 for my elf score.

It wouldn't make sense. X was too powerful to be defeated by Zero, even when Zero was in his prime he'd get rocked by X.

Copy X was killing all reploids without any thought. And eventually would go maverick and target humans.
And reploids are robots, with both conciousness and feelings, so they are in a way similar to humans.

This game was created by Capcom as well
for me this is the first time the mega man series successfully captured the feeling of 2 advanced robots having an all out duel & pulling no stops. Only took them 15 years to get it right, every other boss up to this game aside from maybe Wily Capsule in 7 just feels like a battle of attrition against a mindless idiot or spamming shots at a brick wall.
I can't deny its love at first sight with Copy X XD
