    B&M did file patents for both sitting and standing versions of this movable seat. the reason there hasn't been another ride featuring the movable seats is they are getting sued by Vekoma for stealing some part of the technology. When they were building it, it looked disappointing. It didn't seem tall and it looked boring. I've been on the Green Lantern stand up coaster at SF Great Adventure and didn't care for it so I wasn't excited for Pipeline. After riding it, I have to say I LOVED it. Its a great ride. I love the feeling of levitating off the floor. I wish it was taller and had some huge drops but it's still AWESOME. My second best ride at SeaWorld. Pipeline is a close second to Mako.

  • @DinerLingo

    They should have swapped the blue & white. If the supports were blue & the track white, it would’ve looked more like you’re surfing the crest of the wave. Minor, I know, but details matter.

    Oh hey, you're the guy that made that great video about Disney ride names. Got this one in my recommended and will watch it when I can. I've been on Pipeline and I think it's a great coaster. It's something unique for coaster enthusiasts and definitely the best launch coaster in the park. It did have a surprisingly short line when I went this year given how new it is, so I have to assume it is not super popular with the general audience. That's unfortunate in my opinion, since I enjoyed it quite a bit and would love to see more of the model.

    Apparently doing research is not a strong suit! There is a height limit on this coaster, so if you're to tall you can't ride! Also I think seaworld named there coasters very well. Manta cuz its a flying coaster like a manta ray, mako which is next to the sharks, kracken which is mythical next to journey to Atlantis, ice breaker is in the wild Arctic, and penguin Trek is in the penguin exhibits! I think if they would have called them something crazy that would have been worse!

    I'm still not sure if this thing even has any real airtime. Even the Togo standups gave us just enough to say, yeah do more of that, but just didn't happen and I'm not convinced they get it. Except for kind of liking the body slam laterals of Togos, strong curves are junk food for +G sensitive designs like standup and flying. Airtime IS flying.

  • @rdbarne

    Well isn’t this sort of a prototype coaster? Maybe future iterations of this type may be more exciting for riders that want that feeling of being thrown out of the seat. Maybe a traditional lift with a drop could change the experience. It’s like every coaster being built now is a launch.

    Here’s my awful experience I had on pipeline: So it’s the first week of June and we get to the park 30 mins before opening. Once the park opens we head to pipeline for rope drop. We get about 200 feet away from it and it’s roped off. An employee says it won’t open until 9:30 because they are doing an event for it. We are a little disappointed and head back over to manta which we find closed because they were waiting on an employee to arrive which is absurd. Then it’s almost 9:30 so we head back to pipeline and 2 HOURS LATER they finally opened at 11:30 (and didn’t even apologize for the MAJOR inconvenience) and we finally got back to pipeline and then they say all of our things need to be in a locker, so we have to wait in line for a locker and waste 4 dollars. We then have lost our spot in the gigantic line we had been waiting in and finally get in line. 10 minutes later we get to the station and find out it’s on one train. (I am not sure if that is usual but since kings island is my home park this came as a shock to me (not really)). Then in the station there are 6-8 people waiting per row so the station is filled to the brim, you could barely walk. Then we finally get into our row 30 minutes later (yes 30 minutes in the station) Why? Because the operations were absolutely atrocious. We finally get on the ride; it was fun but this experience definitely took a toll on how much I enjoyed Pipeline.

      Yeah I will say this much, it is the most unreliable B&M so that explains the 1 train. But there is no excuse for the rest such as understaffing and undertraining. This seems to be a united parks chain wide occurrence now and it gets worse by the days.

    I was there last week and I was really excited to ride Pipeline. I was disappointed, Seaworld is a mess when it comes to queue management. I went to Universal Studios the day before, and compared to Universal, Seaworld is a disaster. Pipeline is a short roller coaster, so they only had one car and the loading took forever. The posted wait time was 15 min and I ended up waiting for an hour and a half to get on it and it wasn't even the front row. The ride is OK but too short and I'm not tall so I did get hang time but it's a little uncomfortable on the crotch area.

  • @christopherrolen2913
    @christopherrolen2913 2 месяца назад

    Leadership at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens seem to forget that Central Florida is a family destination. The abundance of inversions on their coasters prevents families with small children from enjoying the rides. That said, it’s nice that SW has Ice Breaker and Penguin Trek, while BG has Cobra’s Curse and Phoenix Rising. Hopefully, more intermediate coasters are built in these parks.

    I love Rollercoasters but Sea World mostly has coasters. They need to get innovative & create dark rides.
    Yes I know they do have some dark ride elements on some rides but we need at least 2 to escape the Florida heat

    • @megasmash7597
      @megasmash7597 2 месяца назад +2

      I went to SeaWorld and at the time I ridden two indoor rides and Journey To Atlantis which was a banger but the other two I wouldn't really call dark rides. One was a track less ride about penguins the other was a motion simulator themes to helicopters? It's been a couple of years and I am writing this on a whim. But I agree they need something to diversify themselves with something cool. I think a dark ride themed to the deepest part of the oceans would be pretty cool (I don't know much about dark rides).

    • @arnaldoandresperezmorales3532
      @arnaldoandresperezmorales3532 2 месяца назад +2

      I disagree, I like that fact about them. Theme parks this days lack of good roller coasters, if SeaWorld were to add Dark Rides, it would have to be something really REALLY innovative. I remember when the park use to have only 2 Coasters, seeing its growth it’s day and night. Keep giving us great coasters, with that and the shows is a perfect balance!

    I’ll tell you this on the airtime
    The shorter you are the more airtime you get
    The taller you are, well… you get what I mean
    I’m max height for the ride (6’6) and even though I swing my legs around I get good airtime
    I’ve also heard SeaWorld is going to fix the vests btw. When they’ll be ready I’m not sure but I overheard this on my visit 4 days ago

I'm 6 foot 2 inches, and unless I crouch down a bit before the airtime I'm pretty much at the upper limit of the seat. Also that bike seat put some unexpected pressure on... well... I think you get the rest. After 3 back-to-back rides on a low-crowd day, it was... something. Besides that, though, I had a lot of fun! I didnt feel a lot of rattle, but there was some. The capacity is awful. Painful and claustrophobic.

    I dont understand why some of y'all enthusiasts keep crying about certain rides. You wont like everything that comes with the ride all the time. Stop complaining so much and be appreciative. I heard you say you wish it was as fast as Iron Gwazi? You ever think maybe science and engineering have something to do with why it cant be that fast? Yall stay complaining about speed/ comfort collars/ airtime/ brake trims etc. Chill and enjoy the ride created or go ride the next ride.

    I was really not a fan of Pipeline either. My least favorite coaster in the entire park and it’s in my bottom 5 overall

      @@themeparknerd643 it was super uncomfortable the whole time between the positives hurting my legs, the vests being extremely tight and the bicycle seat causing tons of discomfort. Plus I didn’t leave my seat at all so there were no redeeming qualities
