You were great! I was impressed you built the kit all by yourself and then stuck with playing even when you were getting frustrated! Made me chuckle a little bit.
I had a similar experience. I bought those Yamaha DD portable, beginner drums, not the separate drums, but the fully enclosed, cheaper thing. Drums are hard! :-) Keep going though. You may inspire me to give it another shot. I actually love the drums....just can't play'em.
My first time playing the drums was at a friend's house and he put headphones on me and put some Kiss on and I tried to play along with them. I am not sure how it sounded without headphones but from my point it sounded good. Lol
I want one!!! Heck yeah! But the frame looks kinda wobbly. You are so fun. I enjoyed the assembly part of the video. I woulda cussed! Lol. But it definitely looks like something very useful to produce some homegrown rythems❤❤❤❤
Have fun learning. It looks like my Alesis electronic drum kit. It should have a lot of settings. My experience is Read the manual and find the stettings you love, then make a note of your favorites on a sticky note. Attach it to your module. Watch some how to videos on playing basic drum grooves.
Ironically I’ve been thinking of picking up another instrument myself, after 14 years of learning basically all around knowledge and experience with guitar/bass(pretty much anything of them 4-8 stringed ones 😂), I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to go with drums or piano/keyboards(both may or may not be Van Halen influenced), but this video has definitely got me leaning in a certain direction! Great video.
Fun vid, Em! I really enjoyed this one. I'm like you. I play guitar.... but I'm always tinkering with other instruments too - and I jut love music! I picked up an Alesis DM-10 Pro Kit on a blow-out clearance sale a few years ago - from Guitar Center. Couldn't resist it. I set it up, and started messing with it. And I realized.... all these years of air drums in my car.... and that's exactly what I did. And I was playing drums in 5 minutes! LOL Not great. But playing. Air drums on my Kit. Literally. LOL I've since taken it apart, and built it into a beautiful Tama acoustic Kit. So now I have a hybrid Kit.... feels of an acoustic Kit - but it's all set up and rigged for Electronic, where I can control the volume. So fun! Looking very forward to seeing you progress on the Drums !
I would love to see you playing drums!
I love this! Fun video! 🤣😁🤣😁

Haha, that’s the fun part!
You're off to a great start, Emily! That's exactly how I was when I started learning to play the kit in the early 80s.
Thanks!
I play piano and guitar then tried a friend's drums. it was a blast, very much like full-body dancing.
It's super fun!
They are alot of fun! Have a great weekend Emily!!! 😃🤘🤘
You too!

Collab with Drumeo coming up next!
Rock on girl!
One staple of '80's drumming is Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight". Be sure to give that a try in time to come.
Fun video Emily. Persevere, I got a edrum kit around 6months ago and it has really helped with my rhythm and timing on guitar 😀
Thanks! I definitely will!
Really Cool Emily! I'm a Drummer/Guitarist myself! I always preferred & played acoustic drums! Rock On!🤘🏻🎉
Thanks! !
I miss my old drum kit I had when I was younger, this Is a great affordable option for dabbling on as a music fan

Love your videos, keep it up!
Thanks so much!

It's honestly really nice for the price! Thanks for watching!
@guitarbyemily totally enjoyed this video. 😊

That's a great idea! I'm going to make sure to check out some RUclips tutorials!

"Not a fan of Green Day so let's move on" That cracked me up more than i expected Emily 😆👍
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rock on Emily! 😄
Learning keep at it Emily ❤️
Watching right now, I have been interested in one of these😎🤙
I really enjoyed this kit! I think it's great for the price!
Can you add to the set-up? Have a drum set like Peter Chriss? Just keep at it and you'll be pounding those "skins" like Ginger Baker or Keith Moon.
Yes you can!
Don't hurt yourself baby😉, enjoy your new drum kit🎉
Didn't know you also play piano. Will you record something on the piano someday?
I will definitely do that this year!
❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤
next... lets hear some slipknot lmao jkjk
🤍🤍🤍
Looks like you may have the Hi-Hat and Ride cymbal rods reversed.
You could perform hip replacement surgery and it would still be fun to watch.
Best comment award! 🤣🏆
How Fun. Give yourself some time you will get it. Check out , The Warning, they have a great drummer you would like.
Ok I will!
@@guitarbyemily Ya. I think they opened for Stryper a few years ago
