You're doing great for a newbie! I got a magnet and a metal detector for Christmas, and haven't gotten to try the detector at all yet. Been out with the magnet a few times and got zippy! NOT even a fishing hook. My son says, "MA, you have to go closer to a city and try dirtier water". LOL! Albany, NY is the closest city, so I guess that's where I'm going next. Doesn't get much dirtier than Albany, in every way!
I can't help wondering how much difference it would make if you overlapped your swings. You seem to have some big gaps between them. Maybe it's more important to thoroughly scout the area under your feet than to get from point A to point B? When some people finds good stuff like coins or jewelry, they do "spirals" around that spot to see if more was dropped, ie, looking for a second earring or more coins.
You’re right I need to slow down. I’ve been watching channels that “grid” the beach by dragging their sand scoop so they can see where they’ve been. And those are the folks who find all the good stuff. I need to go in the early morning so I’m not trying to race the Sun 😂😂

..I was checking out your friends channel ( Oakland Mag Fishing) and he says that there is a metal detector that detects stuff under water? That would be very cool! I bet some early explorer maybe pirate,buried some ‘booty’ round here. I think and have sensed that if weight in treasure was hauled .. was using the water ways to support the weight of the treasure. Far fetched theory 🤠. You and Oakland Mag man got me thinking 🤔 it’s fun to see what modern people leave behind too.
Mine can go in the water up to 10ft supposedly, but they do have ones that are specifically designed for underwater. I think it’s called a pulse-dive or something. The only problem with underwater is I can barely swim 🤣🤣 But I’m sure that’s where all the best stuff is
