- Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a chance to clinch the NFC South on Sunday and instead they got boat raced by the New Orleans Saints, losing 23-13.
Baker Mayfield wasn't the only problem this week as all three phases failed miserably while the Saints looked like a team playing for their lives. The Bucs, on the other hand, looked like a team that didn't care.

As a Saints fan, I've seen plenty of chokes by my team this year, stuff happens in this division...
Canales reverted back to his plays that we had before the bye, when things were clearly not working.
Not sure Caneles is to blame. Bowles probably told him he wanted to run more this game. And you got what we had before the bye an ineffectual game plan and lackluster game. Bowles still has no clue what this team's identity is. He will never get it. He has what he wants to coach which isn't the team he has to coach.

As bad as the team played, they still had a shot to pull it out in the 4th. That Palmer fumble after the 60 yard catch was bizarre.

If I remember correctly, this exact thing happened last year to Chris Olave when the Bucs played in at New Orleans.

The Game was simple ! Baker Mayfield was under pressure the entire game , Derrick Car was not ! Ball Game
And they decided to try and run first for the first 3.5 quarters. Pitiful. Hope they remember to use the pass to open the run again.
How do you win a game when you only play 1/4 of the 4th quarter? Pathetic performance. I said this game would come down to the o line and that Taysom hill would pose a threat. That’s the ballgame folks. Very disappointing

They didn't stick with the game plan that has gotten them. So much success. They did not throw check downs or screen passes to Rashad White or Godwin the entire game enough that would have changed the game.
I agree with the screens to Rachaad. Those should actually fill tge void of a real running game. He's great with a little space to mive around. He's not good running between the Tackles and yet Canales, or maybe, it is Bowles forcing him to do so. The oline is not good at run blocking either so it's not all on Rachaad . But he is a great pass catcher and gets good yac almost every time they call his number
The problem is the same as in all other games with the exception of the Packers game. Canales is the worst play caller on the NFL . He is more stubborn than a mule. His identity is the small gains and putting his QB on distress for long third downs. Defense did a good job but is impossible to be competitive when your OC set you up for failure . Canales needs to stop calling offensive plays or we will destroy this team

Well only 10 passes the first half what do you think went wrong. They weren't coached to win. They didn't want a quick start. Sure Baker threw 2 ints. But several other things happened as well. Trey palmer fumbling that nice catch would have been a score but we gave the ball away.
To be honest with you the saints defense isn't that good like people make it to be they're beatable Tampa just turned the ball over

I pretty much blamed everyone. Baker was bad, but so was everyone else - most notably Dave Canales. Put it in the rearview mirror and focus on the Panthers. That's all they can do right now.

I really believe that the reason they lost is because Bowles knew they didn't have to win. He was so emotionless on the sideline it was pathetic. I wouldn't put it past him to tell Canales to play "conservative". I really miss BA, imagine him and canales working together with Baker.

Baker said in his press conference that he was hurting in the rib area. Something about a cheap shot late in the game? I turned the game off mid 3rd Qtr. I am not a Trask fan at all but it could be Trask plays next week.

One of the worse calls was the screen to Evans, when Godwin should have been the screen target. White wasn't used in the passing game, it's as if everything that worked in the past was forgotten. Like the play calling was upside down.

The majority of this game goes on Canales. @JYarcho_Bucs made a great point on the targets. Most good teams will take away your best weapons, but the OC has to be able to adjust in-game to get the ball to your best players. Baker won't (shouldn't) throw into double coverage. It's the OC's job to get those weapons into winnable matchups. Godwin's TD matchup came way too late, should have been crossing him early.

Trey Palmer should have had 3 Touchdowns. That would have changed the whole game . Crazy the way it all played out .
Tried to tell y'all the Saints would win because of the intangibles. That's what 50 years of watching the game can do for you. I predicted the Saints would jump out to an early lead and bring home a 7 point win. I predicted the Saints would score 24 points when they actually scored 23.
