He has a great way to deal with grief- Thanksgiving. Thankful for the time with the person. Thankful that the reason it hurts is because you loved them so much. If we lose thankfulness then we turn inward and grief will overtake us. I lost my mom and thankfulness is the only way through it
So different. Most so called celebrity pastors on even the Entry level charge at least a thousand dollars to speak demand their airfare be covered and their hotel fee and ride to the venue be payed
There is nothing wrong or out of order when the church takes care of the people called to minister to them. The heart attitude is most important. Is a person Praying and asking God where they should go, or going anywhere that will pay them? ..If someone doesn't have the means to travel there, but God wants them to speak a word to the church body, what should happen?.. Of course the church (or a brother or sister who has the means) should help make the travel possible if God had ordained it. I do not think ministers should be living in luxury while human beings are starving on this planet. Jesus was homeless. I don't think ministers should make merchandise of men. But it IS appropriate for a congregation to support the ministers God calls there, so then and their family can survive while ministering to the body of Christ. My husband is an Evangelist and has been a Pastor. He NEVER asked anyone for ANY minimum honorarium or monetary compensation- so long as he was able to travel there and have that covered, then he trusted Good to take care of it. Sometimes it cost him money to preach. We've been very poor. It is a miracle there is a roof over our heads. We trust God, and He has helped us even when people were unfaithful.
