I was clueless about investing prior to watching this video. I have since then subscribed and will be following you for the foreseeable future. I will take investing much more seriously now that I have an idea of what I'm doing. Thank you Rob!
This is by far one of the best videos i've come across some sound financial advice. Highly recommended for everyone, especially if you're just starting out. Thanks Rob, it is very informative.
Hi Rob, I am 49 and live in Australia. I love your incredibly informative videos. You are a great teacher and I am almost addicted to your videos, waiting for new ones to be released. Thanks a lot for helping and educating people like me with investing. Keep safe and take care.
Tried to like this video twice! I learnt so much or I should say clarified so much in my mind. At least 3 investment books later, I was feeling murky in the details, I had broken my investment inertia, but constantly dreaded I was wrecking the ship without knowing it. This video improved my investing confidence! I subbed of course. Telling EVERYONE I know
Amazing video, thank you Rob. I feel much more confident in moving forward with managing my investments. I was familiar with a lot of these terms already, but what this video really helped me with was eliminating the fog-of-war of investing or the sense of "what ELSE should I be worrying about?" You lay out every out, you describe what everything does and how they add to an investment plan, and it feels comprehensive for a beginner.
Highly underrated channel and video. Thanks for all the detailed information. I just finished your book on Audible and ended up buying the paperback on Amazon so I can go back and notate on it all and reference a lot of your points. It has demystified a lot of things about investing and an excellent read. Thanks Rob!
Good stuff Rob! I’ll be retiring next month & won’t need to touch my investments for 5+ years. We have enough income & cash to carry us comfortably until then. Your 3 fund approach seems simple to implement & manage and yet practical.
Great video for people just starting to pay attention to their retirement account. Really appreciated that you explained so many terms and explained what types of accounts there are. Questions I have, I signed up for your newsletter but cannot figure out how to look at it to access the notes from this video, how to i find them? What is a backdoor Roth IRA? What is a good amount to have in retirement at each age? How do you get the details of your 401k account like whether it is a Roth or traditional, what is the match and how much do you need to contribute to it to get that match? When you talk about what percentage of money you should save- is that all for retirement accounts or does that include emergency fund, other kinds of investments? Again, thanks for the detailed video!
Very informative.I am watching your videos to learn more about long term investing. 3 funds portfolio is amazing. It's your painstakingly hard works for novice investors. Thanks a lot.
Awesome video. My only two criticisms are I think anyone with a HDHCP should prioritize and try to max out an HSA first because it's not taxed at all, you keep it forever, healthcare is the No. 1 expense as we age, the cap is relatively low, and when you turn 65, it effectively becomes a traditional IRA. Also think it makes more sense to contribute to traditional or Roth if you're not in a super low tax bracket and don't contribute to a pension.
Hi Rob! I know I'm watching this late but I really enjoyed it! Are the notes still available somewhere? I can't seem to find them. Thank you for all that you do.
Thank you for making this Rob this was a great Refresher. I'm going to take the money I'm saving for my son and go with the three-fund portfolio in M1. The only problem is I want to put it into a Roth but I already have a Roth myself and my son does not work. I guess it's going to have to be a taxable account
Wow , thanks so much. Lots of good information that I will definitely share with my young adult children. Unfortunately the link to Roam research isn't active? Also I'd love a copy of your slides. suggestions on how to get them
@Rob Berger: That's a great class I was looking for! 😷 I wish I could know it long time ago. Do you know if Vanguard has stable fund (short term bond) available for traditional IRA account? I am thinking to create one. thanks
Great stuff. I watch several youtube videos on how to trade in the stock market but haven't made any headstart because they are either talking some gibberish or sharing their story of how they made it and I do not want to make mistakes by taking risks in my own hands.
Rob Berger, you are an incredibly great teacher, very methodical, step-by-step approach, clear, just terrific presentation. Thank you!
Thank you Mr. Rob for this very thoughtful presentation for new investors, It was worth my time and I learned a lot today.

really deserves a bigger audience but these videos, as long as he makes them available, will be on the internet for ages hopefully so many can learn
that you give so much of your free time to produce weekly videos is really giving back to others - much appreciation for doing what you're doing -
honestly this is the best financial advice I have ever seen.

Great content! Just a note - the audio seems to only be on one side, and it's very quiet!

Have you considered consulting an investment advisor or using a portfolio manager?
hi, no I haven't do you know any or can you point me in the right direction?
I want to go into stock but i need a certified/registered professional who will guide and handle my account.
Vanguard Advisory Services would be my recommendation.
excellent
Thank you
