really enjoyable to watch. you should be proud of this production, good length, not over using a drone, music suited it perfectly. great footage, it captured your mood and love for what you just did. well done, great job.
Thank you very much Gary, that is a very fine and complementary review. I love getting feedback, and I have to say this film is one of my most balanced.
Oh yeah, thanks Jamie, one of my favourite too. Am blown away by the new iPhone 13 pro, this was my first film editing the footage from it, and that shot in particular shows it to its best
When it's super cold wear your bladder under your jacket and keep the hose tucked away to. Nice relaxed vibe to this and thankfully no freezing streams for you to ford. Ride safe everyone
Early Christmas present, thank you. You were certainly brave being out and about in Storm Arwen ! Hope you have a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. Hope our Scottish weather is a bit better in 2022 than 2021.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Obviously you were good this year :-) Yes I was not expecting storm Arwen and was so lucky to have a friend living close by, but I was blessed to be in the Lakes for when that spectacular snow landed, it was so so clear and crisp it was stunning, will never forget it. Have a wonderful festive period to all your family! Oh and my 12day Scottish trip film will be out soon, it rained a little haha
Thanks so much David! Thankyou for following my adventures and so glad you enjoy them! Merry christmas to you and all your family and have a wonderful time :-)
Hi, please have a look at my other films, I have done many break downs of my kit, and also done a whole series called BG tips that should help with packing
What a lucky break getting a snowy day when you can still get through on your bike. The film and the music…really works…that vid should get a slot on country file or another of those popular outdoors films. It really is good enough as far as I’m concerned
Thank you so much Robert, and such a beautiful comment :-) one day the BBC will come knocking on my door, or the flap of my tent, haha. But for now I am very happy to create these films and share them all with you all :-) Merry Christmas Robert
Oh that scene at the end with the snowy field down to the lake. Dreamy scenery. Glad to see you're still out riding - seems a long time since your Cycle Surgery on Strype Street days!
Oh you can't beat Keswick and the Lakes for perfect scenery!! Yes matey I started bikepacking in that store, so have been doing it a few years! My Genesis is having its 7th Birthday this year :-) But there is a new bike very close on the horizon. Hope you are doing well and you have a wonderful Christmas. I hope I bump into you on the trails or anywhere soon :-)
Thanks Barry great video. I could feel how cold it was for you sitting here in my living room with a cuppa in hand. Also great fan of the Northern Lakes as well. Once blew myself up in a tent at Keswick, Don't ask. Happy Christmas.
@@2wheelsrbest327 Haha, I sure it was not funny at the time, but is now :-) I made the mistake on my last Scotland trip in October to use my stove in the tent porch as it was raining so hard, and the condensation it created on the inside of the tent was like it was raining inside, haha.
Thankyou so much Mark! Thanks so much for all your support over the year! And yes haha, you will see you last 7 trips in an odd order, haha. But I promise I have started them, just needed this one out for Christmas, would have been odd for it to have come out in Summer, haha. Have a wonderful festive period! And for many many adventures being planned for next year :-)
Beautiful. Love cycling this time of year when the grounds frozen. Not keen on camping in those temperatures either! Cheers Barry. Look forward to seeing some more videos next year!
Thanks so much, yes I had to choose the fast ice and the risk of tumbling at any given second, or the crunchy slower snow ;-) But on the rocky descents all the rocks very covered in ice, so there was no hope there, haha. Lots of adventures to come, have a wonderful Christmas!!!
Lovely video Barry, pretty stunning place. We had a lot of ice and a few pirouettes on our last trip! Tip for the bladder hose freezing is to blow back into it clearing the pipe after drinking.
Haha, I love the polite version of crashing, Pirouettes, haha. I often call them a flop stop, but in this film that was a crash, haha. That is a supurb top tip! Wish I knew that! But this was not a big ride so was in no trouble :-)
@@barrygodin7538 pirouettes were either 180s or more with tripodding leg stabilisers deployed! Stayed vertical, just about, but a comedy moment non the less. Stopped pushing my luck after the 2nd one!
Thankyou so much, yes I was being so so careful, hence the incredibly short milage those days, also could not go further than 4 meters before taking another photo, haha
Merry Christmas to you Barry. Great vid as always, stunning scenery 👌. You inspired me to do my first bikepacking trip this year, it was awesome. Keep the adventures coming. Stay safe and enjoy the outdoors.👍
Oh wow Alan!!! I am not sure I want to be the one responsible to get you in to this crazy sport, haha. No i cam so proud of you to get out there! There is a huge sense of freedom with Bikepacking, you have the ability to go anywhere whilst carrying the kitchen sink!!! Merry Christmas buddy and happy adventures for next year, let me know what you get up to :-)
beautiful filming BG and what an adventure to squeeze in at the Lakes - kudos for the ride and we'll done getting through the weather, did look stunning though! hopefully Santa brings you some leg warmers this year! happy festive season and thanks for all the great content, really enjoyed them
I second the leg warmers!! absolutely brilliant this Barry. Your an inspiration mate. The cinematography is awesome. Made me smile seeing you out there living life to it fullest. Hope the plaudits come in for this one. Keep Rollin Dude. Best wishes for the Holiday! Hopefully see you out and about next year. Nick F
Hey matey! Thanks so much! Yes I have squeezed in as much as possible into the last year after lockdown, live life to the max! Have a wonderful festive period and start planning next years adventures :-) See you on the trails matey :-)
Thanks very much Alexander, No just my normal tyres, and yes it was slidy on the ice, no problem at all in the snow, but there is no help with ice unless you have a dedicated ice tyre :- )
Hey thanks so much, that is not such an easy question to answer. is on my huge list of BG tip ideas. But to navigate I use a Garmin, but planning I use many many apps and books and maps mainly, taking just random bridleways and seeing where they go :-)
Beautiful scenery and solo ride!! Love the Abominable Snowman!
Thanks you so much, haha yes we called him colossus
tha Lakes are so beautiful at any time of year, but the winter is awesome, less zombies too, great vid thanks
Haha, yes a few less Zombies, even more so in that temperature :-) thanks so much
Love all the views of the Lake District. Beautiful. Great video 👏🏻
You cant beat them views can you, so beautiful, thank you very much
Chapeau, what no rain ,happy days.
Haha, happy rain instead ;-) thanks so much Stephen for your support this year 🤩 Merry Christmas matey
Great camera work. Really captured the cold and the beauty. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Matty
Looks like a great route! The Lake District is just made for stuff like this...
It is spectacular even the tames trail gives you so much joy, even just the views take your breath away
Great footage certainly done the area justice, the climb up dash falls towards Skiddaw house is a killer, a loop i do regularly.👍
Thanks so much Stu! I am so glad you feel it does it justice, what a local loop you have! very jealous you get to ride it regularly
Ciao for now Barry - and Merry Christmas to you to. See u in 2022 😊
Ciao!! I will be there pedalling into the new year 🤩
