If you mean how to make it smaller??? No, I cannot as that's not anything I've ever done; however, I have seen a video from Godiva Secret Wigs on making a wig smaller that is very helpful! 😊😊👍
Hi Beth, my Deirdre arrived much curlier than yours. I realize each piece is different but she’s a lot of hair for me. How would you loosen tighter curls to look more relaxed like yours (Pre-Messing Up/Zhoozhing). I did use water/messed her up a little bit on top to lift the fibers off the cap and tried establishing a good part, but figured a gentle washing and hanging upside down would help relax the curls a bit. What do you think? BTW, Deirdre looks great on you! 😊
Hi Christina. 🤗 there are a couple things, just give her a cool soak in water (no shampoo) then hang upside down to air dry so gravity will pull the curls down. After dry, shake and use a wide tooth comb and comb gently from the bottom up. That should do the trick. If not, you could lightly steam but be very cautious or you could end up straightening it. Hopefully that helps! 👍 I love Deirdre, such a cute style, thank you! 💞💖😘

I only added shampoo bc I had already applied some dry shampoo and Tress wig wax ;-) I hung her upside down and this morning she did seem more relaxed. She's now upright on a wig stand so gravity will work the other way. I'm wearing Ashlee today at work but I can't wait to try on Deirdre when I get home! You make styling look so effortless and easy! I have never worn a PY wig because of the dark rooting. But I love this style. Do you feel this root could be lightened? Say with the light blonde root spray? I have RW editor's pick but I only wear on special occasions because she was so expensive! This one reminds me of EP but I could not wear such a dark root. It's beautiful on you!
Hi Jill, I don’t think you can lighten the root. There are other styles that are not rooted though like Long Leading Lady, Bryce and Collins. I have done some comparisons of wavy Bob styles. PY has a lot of cute ones! Thank you dear!💕💗😊
Hi Beth. You're so talented! I really like what you do to your wigs to make them look great! I like this color but the root color is pretty dark for me. Any thoughts to make it lighter, especially around the forehead. How does she fit? i am pretty petite sized. i don't want her falling off. I also wear glasses. thanks for your help!
Thank you. 🥰 if you don’t like the root than I would choose a different non-rooted wig. It’s much easier to add light brown root spray to a non-rooted wig than it is to try and lighten dark roots in my opinion. The VersaFiber (heat safe) wigs from PY run large/avg but you can move the Velcro adjusters in up to an inch. I wear a velvet wig grip cap underneath to secure. 🌸😊🌸

I started my wig journey late last year (2021). I ordered three, returned all except this one. I should have returned her also. You can see the cap no matter how hard I try. I believe she might be defective. But I was too new to see it before I removed tags and started playing with her. I won't wear her in public but I can do a hat or headband when working in the yard. And I look at her and know that she taught me to be more cautious. Be sure you are happy before removing tags or playing with her.
@@BethsBestHair oh yes and with Paula Young. This was just my first and was naive. I love Maura and a couple of others that I have tried since . I love Hailey lace front, Hailey is on clearance. The straight seems to be easier to maintain. Love Long Color Me Beautiful. But I am struggling with keeping up the curl.And Lace front looks more natural. But I used to have natural curly hair so trying that angle too. .

I haven’t had problems with Deirdre and I think because it’s curly so it hits differently whereas Shannon is kind of that undercut Bob so it’s those short hairs at the nape that get clumpy on me.
@@BethsBestHair I saw a pic of a lady that flat ironed and straightened the Shannon. Would that make it more able to rub and get matted or less so? And I tell you it looked so nice flat ironed!
@@ginawhite3399 So with heat friendly fibers like VersaFiber you do have to heat treat regularly to keep them smooth. I know people that run a flat iron on the ends every day they wear their wig. Yes, that helps. Where I have difficulties with the VersaFiber is when it's a curly or wavy style, then it's really quite difficult to recreate the original curl pattern. However, I love my L'ange Le Duo airflow styler, it is a game changer when it comes to styling heat friendly wigs!
I wear either a velvet wig grip or the Milano velvet wig grip with the cap attached. When I wear the hand tied wigs I don’t wear a grip and will just add a little spray glue under the lace! 💕😊👍

LUV Dierdre. Enclosed perma tease blocks the itch. Knowing our hairline to chin height, hairline to brow bone +hairline to cheekbone distance helps gauge where a wig's layers will fall on our own face.

For my first few wigs I started with styles, colors and lengths similar to my bio hair and that really helped ease me into it and then it didn't look so shocking to me! I tend to rotate and pretty much keep my mid-length & shorter girls for summer and/or weekends! My workdays are usually the mid to longer styles but I rotate. This helps to keep them nice! 💞💕😊
I don’t use it on wigs that are already rooted! I do use it if they’re not and I feel it needs it. No, I don’t think it shortens the life of a wig. 💕🤗👍
There are dark, fairly thick hair fibers that stick out about 1/2 inch in the front hair line. What’s up with that? I don’t see them on the Deidre you are wearing. Can you explain their purpose or I wonder if this is a fluke in manufacturing.
Yes, they are baby hairs put there on purpose to disguise the wig line since it's not a lace front. If you don't like them you could always pull them out. I feel like they give it a realistic effect. 💛💛💛

You work miracles with styling. This is not a lace front, how did you get the hairline to look so natural. I know it's possible to cut in baby hairs or blend in your own hairline but I didn't see you do any of that. Thank you for all your helpful reviews.

I started my wig journey late last year (2021). I ordered three, returned all except this one. I should have returned her also. You can see the cap no matter how hard I try. I believe she might be defective. But I was too new to see it before I removed tags and started playing with her. I won't wear her in public but I can do a hat or headband when working in the yard. And I look at her and know that she taught me to be more cautious. Be sure you are happy before removing tags or playing with her.

@@BethsBestHair oh yes and with Paula Young. This was just my first and was naive. I love Maura and a couple of others that I have tried since . I love Hailey lace front, Hailey is on clearance. The straight seems to be easier to maintain. Love Long Color Me Beautiful. But I am struggling with keeping up the curl.And Lace front looks more natural. But I used to have natural curly hair so trying that angle too. .

You once mentioned Shannon hits where it gets matted. This seems to be same length, does it do it also?
I haven’t had problems with Deirdre and I think because it’s curly so it hits differently whereas Shannon is kind of that undercut Bob so it’s those short hairs at the nape that get clumpy on me.
@@BethsBestHair I saw a pic of a lady that flat ironed and straightened the Shannon. Would that make it more able to rub and get matted or less so? And I tell you it looked so nice flat ironed!
@@ginawhite3399 So with heat friendly fibers like VersaFiber you do have to heat treat regularly to keep them smooth. I know people that run a flat iron on the ends every day they wear their wig. Yes, that helps. Where I have difficulties with the VersaFiber is when it's a curly or wavy style, then it's really quite difficult to recreate the original curl pattern. However, I love my L'ange Le Duo airflow styler, it is a game changer when it comes to styling heat friendly wigs!
What type of wig cap do you wear under your wig?
I wear either a velvet wig grip or the Milano velvet wig grip with the cap attached. When I wear the hand tied wigs I don’t wear a grip and will just add a little spray glue under the lace! 💕😊👍

LUV Dierdre. Enclosed perma tease blocks the itch. Knowing our hairline to chin height, hairline to brow bone +hairline to cheekbone distance helps gauge where a wig's layers will fall on our own face.

I tend to rotate and pretty much keep my mid-length & shorter girls for summer and/or weekends! My workdays are usually the mid to longer styles but I rotate. This helps to keep them nice! 💞💕😊

I don’t use it on wigs that are already rooted! I do use it if they’re not and I feel it needs it. No, I don’t think it shortens the life of a wig. 💕🤗👍

There are dark, fairly thick hair fibers that stick out about 1/2 inch in the front hair line. What’s up with that? I don’t see them on the Deidre you are wearing. Can you explain their purpose or I wonder if this is a fluke in manufacturing.
Yes, they are baby hairs put there on purpose to disguise the wig line since it's not a lace front. If you don't like them you could always pull them out. I feel like they give it a realistic effect. 💛💛💛
