this really helps me sleep. use to drive a powerstroke cub van for work and between shifts id sleep in the cab and had the best rest you could have. its the ultimate lullaby
before my dad died on september 2nd he used to put this on for me to relax and sleep and i would be out for 6 hours and i will truly remember him thru this and i thank you
@@sboloshis1188 Must be you never slept in the bunk, on a winter or summer night. It's kind of like sleeping in a purring cat, the light noise and vibration helps Lull you to sleep. Sounds strange, but it's a comforting feeling. Part of why I had an APU installed in my truck, and I tend to sleep with my head towards it.
Just found this. Who knew anyone considered the sound of diesel idling relaxing. When I was team driving, I always wondered why I slept better when the truck was moving than when using the APU at a truck stop.
The sound and vibration, that's why. I always slept beat out on the road with my uncle, in the summer, as a kid. The sound of that old Detriot or the CAT that he ran after 88, and the slight vibration, was always very relaxing. When my daughter couldn't sleep, we tried taking her in her mom's car, and it did work, but it always took longer than my Cummins swapped 73 F250. Eventually, it only took idling it a few minutes in the driveway for her to drift off.. She now uses the same trick with her GMC 2500, with the Dirtymax, with our grandson. We use the 91 K2500 also 12 valve swapped, when he stays with us.
Same here. Used to spend summers OTR in my uncle's Eestern Star, back in the 80s. Loved that sound and the feel of it. Learned on a 91 Marmon Glider with a 74 Pete chassis, same Detroit, Eaton Fuller 13, in 93, and had a lot of the best nights sleep in the bunk on that rig, back when you could still idle them at night. Now, the 2015 Pete has an APU, that just ain't the same, but it does work well enough for me and the wife to drift off at night.
@@wigwagstudios2474 it's the pitch of the tires, under load, on the concrete or asphault.mainly because they are constructed differently than car and light truck tires, giving them a different harmonic, combined with the low rev of a diesel engine. Makes for a unique sound, as they roll along.
Lightly tap your power button or switch, or double tap the screen. Playback will continue, and the screen will turn off, depending on phone model. Or, hit the screen close icon, and let your screen time out. Keeps the sound, turns off the screen.

You should make a 24v Cummins idle
This video has no audio between the first and second hour mark

Can you please make one with a 6.7 powerstroke idling?
2 stroke weed eater at idle

james lehman how in the world is this relaxing? Well, to each their own I guess.

@@kevinfox500 I get it. You get used to the noise. Like sleeping with a fan on.

I have been an owner-operator for 36 years and would never be able to relax enough to sleep with someone else driving.
I literally use this to keep my NEWBORN SON... asleep. 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 works every time. 👌
Good night
he will grow up and become a truck driver and not know why he likes trucks
David Holman Would imagine the best Southern accent you’ll hear lol
How is this sound relaxing?
@@sboloshis1188 give it 30 minutes.
Over the road trucker , this helps when I’m at home I just wish the bed had that vibration along with the sound
Thank you! Omg, as a truckers kid and a huge diesel fan... I sleep well at night now!
I play this in the background when I'm the phone talking to my friends and family. So they can think that I'm at work.😜
ol
Lmao
Fooled them again, didn't you?👌
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I like that.👍✅
Fun-fact: A cat’s purr takes place at 60Hz...the same as an idling Diesel engine. Hence the expression “Listen to that engine purr.”
You're wrong. I do sonar for a living. Diesel engines have harmonic spacing not a set frequency of resonance
Lol he’s not right
No shit... Hmm. 🤔
@@kylemcneal7856 damn. I respect that knowledge.
@Oh My Oh my interesting
i would love a video of an old Detroit Diesel 8v92 idling like this. Love those old engines!
If you adjust the playback speed you can rev it up 👆

Move through the playback speeds. From a Rave all the way to loaded 🚂 . Classic!!!Doesn't sound like a diesel truck engine after a while.
Sounds like a 6.0 Powerstroke in gear
It says that it is in the description
Sounds more like the 7.3
7.3 powerstroke
6.0
VT365 6.0
Put the video play back at 2x sounds likes its high idling love it !
Love it! Goodnight brothers :)
This is the best idling diesel video on RUclips.
That is a navistar vt365 (6.0powerstroke)
jackelracer593 it’s been a great engine for me so far 230k
Sounds identical to my OBS 7.3 tbh
@@bigtermtech5188 nope!
Finally, something that I can sleep to!! Would like to see a video of a detroit diesel idling, preferably a 12V 71.
I like the sound of a semi driving past you the sound of the tires on the road hard to explain
I know the sound you're talking about. If I can capture some good recordings, I may make a video.
Dude i really like that sound too but cant find anywhere
the gravel?

We will miss them when they are gone
Nobody:
ABSOLUTELY NOBODY:
The school bus when everybody is boarding to go on a field trip:
ok
i used this to fool my brother's girlfriend into thinking he was still at the job site (work) we we're drinking beer and smoking weed
Pro gamer move
Tell me more...
Impressive.
God, I love diesels
Thank you for this.
Turn the phone screen facing down can also make it less bright 🧐
We play this on a tv as well to calm my son down to get him to sleep, so the black screen works well for that.

That Ole 7.3....
Think that’s a 6.0
100% a 7.3 powerstroke. I would know since I own one. The 6.0 ignition knock sounds lighter.
Sounds awesome at x0.75 playback
Thank you!
stops at 1:00:32
Sounds like a Navistar VT365 aka the 6.0 Powerstroke
This is not a semi engine sound like a 6.0 powerstroke
Sounds like the 6.0 powerstroke
7.3 ♥️♥️♥️
And yep it's a detroit
these new electric bullshit will never have that good idle sound
🐢🐢I like turtles.
sounds like a 6.2L cummins in gear
It’s a 6.0 powerstroke
It's a 7.3. I know because I daily drive an OBS F350.
I used to listen to this sound in 2014 while gaming or browsing the web and my friends thought i was a psychopath
Put it at 0,75 speed
Definitely a 6.blow
Oh yeah! My powerjoke has been a good engine at 230k all original other than one injector and EGR cooler removed.
6.uh-oh
saves a lotta gas money
I think he needs an oil change at this point

Description say a 6.0 in a semi??
Much better at .75 playback speed
Sounds like it's faulty at that speed.
NOT A TRUCK….. A pick up
sounds like a 1.0 idle
Video is too short boss
Need jak breaks now that wood do a good one to go to sleep to my wife wode be so happy
Thats a pickup
the sound is used in mano that is in roblox
I was expecting a Cat or a Cummins... instead I get a Powerstroke... ugh
This is not a semi sounds like a 6.oh powerstroke
I don’t think 6.0 powerstrokes are in semis
dead space between loops is very distracting and annoying.......look elsewhere
There is no semi truck with a crap 6l ford powerstroke. Dislike
