Awe, not like blood, Nast cut, be careful Steve. Got my first E-bike last May and I love it with its oversized tyres. Was difficult dropping the front wheel in place. Worried when when the time comes to remove the rear wheel due to cables, so I hope all will be fine when I ever get to do it. Got spare battery for that extra long journey. One safety tip, when turning from a stationary position don’t have pedal assistance enabled or it will be like someone pushing you as your turning, not good, it almost throw me when I did it first time, don’t even have pedal assistance on when turning were I need to take one hand of the handlebar for signalling. Just be carful when turning. My bike helps me a lot if I go for a 15 mile or more ride as I have pain in my knee on my normal bike after cycling for around 15 miles, so if I exceed on my E bike and this pain kicks in, I have this bike to carry be home without peddling. Am 5’ 8” and it’s a little tricky getting on and off, but I manage😂

    Good review just subd 👍
    Yes it's a Comfortable ride I've put 2000 + Kms on my X26 in 6 weeks
But I prefer long distance riding from the rear seat - beach cruiser style , works ok with a aftermarket handlebar 130mm extension to give laid back riding position.
X26 Problems in 6 weeks hard riding =
    1. cross bar battery rattle if not stopped leads to battery self-destructing - the terminals disintegrate. fix = wrap 50mm gorilla tape around front of battery to eliminate rattle. order new terminal block from Engwe!!
    2. Seat post Battery drops when riding over rough terrain = leading to connection bottoming out on frame and battery connector self destructing because it passes the minimum height setting😬
fix= order new battery connector from Engwe
prevent battery bottoming by putting a stop bolt underneath the battery just above it minimum height setting 🤦
3.standard tyres inner tubes are very prone to punctures had , 4 punctures in 2 weeks 😬
fix = installed heavy duty 6mm thick inner tubes 🤞

  • @wordreet
    @wordreet Год назад +1

Basically it's a moped. We already have relevant regulations in the UK to cover this. No license required to ride it etc. BUT it's already too fast under it's own power for our regs! 15mph max allowed here, over that the motor should shut down. (rider should be 14 yrs old minimum) To go 28mph (would you believe?), it should be classed as a a mo-ped. and have tax and m/cycle insurance. So I guess if it was sold here adjustments would be made. And although I like the 2 battery design, I dislike the seat post. I would want a "dropper" seat post on my bike so I can quickly adjust the seat height, on the fly, up to my preferred maximum, or drop it to it's lowest for dismounting. I'm 5"10 with short-ish legs. Apart from that, hmm, I wouldn't call it beautiful, but it is cool, plus I LOVE fat tire bikes and own two, plus an Electra Classic cruiser 7 speed, oh and a cheap fold up bike to throw in the back of the car if I think I might need it.

Steve normally rides a pedal bike so I'm sure his habit is to ride this e-bike like it was an regular pedal bike. My dad made the same comment to me about a little video I made. At 87 he long ago forgot what it's like to ride a bicycle. Probably 70 years.

I saw a different type of electric bike that was reviewed by a young person, but the comments and demonstration indicated the bike was not as well-endowed as your model. It could not climb the hills as well, nor was the shock absorbing ability as comfortable, and it did not come with two batteries either. So, of course the bike could not stand up to yours in the area of longevity. All this simply indicates there is a difference between the E-Bikes that are available, and one must tryout several models to be sure what's important to the buyer for long-term.

About the seat sinking into the frame, I had the same problem on my e-bike when I upgraded to a shock absorbing seat that came with a carbon fiber seat post. The carbon fiber is too slippery for the pinch bolt system to secure it. I had to purchase a produce called "supergrip Carbon and alloy assembly compound SAC-2". I removed the post and applied the black paste type compound to it and reinstalled the post. Re-torqued the bolt to manufacturers spec and it has been good for four years now. If that monster seat post on your subject bike is carbon fiber that compound may help.

Because of the 1000watt motor are you required to have a motorcycle license? Do you need to register it? Do you need to insure it? Are you allowed to drive that on a sidewalk? Honestly, nothing is required for electric bikes other than get yourself a helmet. Perhaps you are thinking of the Federal and Provincial rules for Electric Scooters, Skateboards and Bikes. Those don't apply to the consumer but more so to the seller. EBikes in Canada are set to a similar limit to those in the USA. Owners of eBikes (if desired) can often override settings for speed and output power and no one is the wiser.

Total body height isn't relevant. Inseam measurement is.

True, but if you have long legs and short body, you're just not gonna reach the handlebars when turning.

Short legs here - 28"/70cm - on a good day.
Reaching the handlebars isn't an issue, but reaching the ground is. 😁

@@mjordan812 I'm sure you've seen it by now but they spec a minimum "Standover height" of 29.9". Nice of them to actually include that info!
