How to remove Drive Axle/Drive Shaft Toyota Rav4 1996,1997,1998,1999,2000,2001,2002,20003,2004,2005

The drive axle was removed from 1998 Rav4 Toyota.

Slide-hammer worked fine for me. 3rd slide impact and it was out. CV-axle

Did you work on the left (driver's side) or right side cv joint of this years model RAV4?

@@marby602 Replaced both left & right cv joints at the same time. The right was easily removed by slide hammer. But the left (driver's side) was seized and didn't help. That was good you could get it out with a slide hammer.The repair manual also suggested that. Thanks for your information!
If encounter a seized cv joint, see whether this method could help.

Suspension removal is not required. Had enough room for heelbar to go in.

@@tgmac8288 Oh, is it easy to just replace to ABS O-ring/tooth ring instead of the whole driveshaft? It's only £20 for the o-ring, but a lot more or even a used drive shaft with the ABD O-ring on.
