Hey Merk, you actually don’t want to tune your guns all the way up. If you look at the chart in the tuning, you can see some values peak around 80% and go down if you go further which is actually noticeable in game as well
Hands down the most tedious part of the orion grind was platinums. Polyatomic was fun as hell, even for launchers especially if you do dlc weapons to replace the riot shield and knife
I replaced all the launchers with the dlc guns lol. The biggest headache was long shots, took me quite a bit of playtime to finish those off. Headshots were easy though, I got Orion a couple of days after unlocking the headshot challenges.
In my opinion the headshot challenge for poly camo was ten times easier then the platinum because you just play as you usually do running around or how ever you play did poly in 2 days
as someone who recently unlocked Orion, longshots are no joke and need a lot of determination to complete i feel as getting over 1000 longshots is not hard but it’s not fun either it just takes a bit of time

Tip for JOKR Plat: VTOL are easy to shoot down - first shot, the VTOL will activate flares, shoot the second rocket and while the rocket is going up shoot down the VTOL with LMG to low health so that the JOKR can destroy it with 1 rocket.
For the strella to take out UAVs aim using the farthest left line( / ) of dots in the dot pyramid based off of the distance of the UAV adjust what dot you choose to aim with. Put the dot on the tip of the UAV. (Strella is now my fave launcher for UAVs due to finding this)
I would highly recommend tier 1, long shots are consistent for all weapons especially for pistols/smgs damage range falloff isn’t awful so you can usually just sit in long shot spots and 1-2 tap people. I did all my long shots in tier 1 and it was actually quick and easy!
For sniper longshots invasion actually worked the best for me, sa'id was the best map for this. There are a LOT of other players who snipe in that mode. Spawns are straight forward in invasion compared to ground war where enemies can spawn pretty much anywhere.
I got Orion back on Nov. 28th, but the best and easiest way to get longshots would just play tier 1 since theres at least 6 sets of longshot kills (20-25 each) If you're going for poly and decide to do launchers first Merk (15 double kills with each launch) play domination and hardpoint on open maps, getting double kills with launchers by melee'ing counts towards the progress as well
For long shots I use the ammo box, ghost and stims but I'm different, I've got 28 guns platinum atm so it may not be the best option but it helps me stay off the map and be a little more sneaky.
You can skip the launchers by doing the dlc weapons and it counts. I have ARs and SMGs platinum so i had 18 (don’t remember exactly) then i got gold and platinum on the m13 and the new smg and checked if it counted… and it did!! So there are four launchers and we have three dlc guns out now but we’ll get the chimera for the mid season update and there’ll be no need to grind the launchers.
Strela for killstreaks - I put it on all my classes, play shoot-house & take out all the counter uav's, They are just a little drone circle thing in the sky that doesnt move. Manage to do it complete it in a few games.

Leave the launchers to last. I skipped 2 launchers and did the m13 and the bas-p smg. In a week the hunnybager is coming out so you can skip 3 launchers. I love this system I hope it stays.

Snipers and marksmen, shoot house wall to wall, shield and knife are pretty easy, just use flashes, launchers just equip the sitrep perk and it goes a lot quicker than just streaks, everything else on tier 1
Just got platinum for all guns just sitting in Shoot House for general kills since shipment ain't out yet but I've actually found tons of success for longshots then I was farming safecracker in WZ for insane leveling speed, useful for weapons like TAQ-M which is just not fun to use personally or getting a head start since weapons like snipers suck without any attachments
I just got my riot shield plat today in one game, I was lucky enough to find the enemy team had 2 players that were afk so I was able to get 4 to 5 2 kills within 10 seconds. Thank goodness
I managed to get Orion within 3-4 weeks off consistent grinding after launch, and it wasn’t all that hard just play tier 1 quick play for longshots and core for headshots.
Idk why a lot of people find struggle with getting longshots on shoothouse, I got basically every class maybe expect for pistols platinum on shoothouse by just sitting down mid and it took me only a few days to be done alll 51 plats
Just a fyi for the riot shield Bc I got that and the knife platinum after launchers. Use the riot shield in third person mode and turn off auto tac sprint or auto sprint. So much easier Bc not everyone is good at aiming so you can basically bot walk to everyone. It’s a great way to get it done reliably in my experience
Also use the pila and jokr in invasion and shoot down the helicopters that carry bots in. One rocket should do it for each the pila and jokr. I just sat near the back of the map and fired at them when they came in. Each one counts as an enemy vehicle. It’s really quick. Best nap for it imo is the taraq invasion map as you can see the choppers very easily and consistently

Probably late to the party because I work full time and just now started to get the ARs to Platinum, I have still all the other weapons to get gold. It just feels like people are completely staying away from long range gunfights because they figured out by now that people are trying to get longshots so they don't even show up and traffic is super low in the parts of the map that are beneficial for longshots. Super tedious, took me a week to get three weapons to Platinum. In that speed I will have Polyatomic by christmas lol.

Gettings camos and the mastery camos is significantly easier only because you don’t have as many challenges to do. You only do 4 basic camos for a gun, you unlock gold, do that with every gun in thay category, you unlock plat, do a single challenge and you get polyatomic, so on and so forth. The problem with it is the SBMM, it makes getting the challenges done super tedious because you have mf runnin around flanking hard af or you got corner campers and floor huggers. Granted these issues have been in the game, but the matchmaking makes it even more unforgiving. But getting camo challenges has never been easier.
Ppl on shoothouse don’t really mount down mid (yet) so the best thing to do is literally camp office window and stay as far back from it as u can or be on the opposite end and kill ppl on windows while sticking close to the borders of the map (the area near one of the starting spawn) the same thing can be down from shanty town, down junkyard.

I mean dont max any weapon tuning all the way one or the other, there is always a middle ground somewhere in there that’s considerably better than max all the way
i currently have ARs and Shotguns Gold, currently finishing up Battle Rifles with the FTAC Recon, then going into sniping for a bit, having the M13B done, i'll never need to use the combat shield and i also plan on doing that with the BAS-P, Chimera and Victus XMR for the JOKR, Combat knife and the other launchers.
Congrats man I have 50/51 im waiting for the chimera because I refuse to use launchers. My main tips is just use tier 1 for longies (longshots)!!! Some guns with bad recoil have a semi auto feature so definitely use that. I agree with your sniper take I would just add leveling up snipers in Invasion is too easy

Using bipods for weapons with lots of recoil like lmgs really helped me for sitting at the back on shoothouse

I think the hardest challenge was the point blanks. It’s hard asf to get close to someone

can confirm, tier 1 does do 1 hit kill riot shield and yes it was "easier" to do my platinum challenge

Merk, the tuning grid isn't linear so it doesn't matter if you max out certain tunings

It kept popping up weapon challenge complete because you completed the initial polyatomic camo challenge for every single gun in the game.
Can't lie the camo grind isn't tough, it's tedious. The one aspect of the grind that is most challenged is my attention span.

you only need to go halfway on your tuning. passed halfway, it’s only going to hurt your weapon instead of improving it.

The explosive slugs reduce damage range so just run normal slugs.

RPG was definitely the hardest for me, i couldn't find a counter UAV to save my life. took hours.
I realized the other day that if you don’t want to do the launchers you can completely bypass them and just do the dlc guns
Got riot shield done in 2 hours on tier 1 starting from level 1 it wasn’t bad at all and knife was cake

Surprised you didn't use the ranger fvm 40 it has a rangefinder and lets you automatically adjust for bullet drop
