The I Charleston Brighton project was a labour of love. It was made entirely by volunteers who gave their time for free because of their love for dance. No one was paid for their involvement in the film. The teachers who did the choreography do run courses in the city, however taking part in the film was completely free and open to all.
Many dancers and performance groups generously donated their time, including: Streetfunk, Live Love Hoop, Bitter and Twisted, Gypsy Disco Fire Brigade, Acro Yoga Brighton, Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus. We also participated in the We Charleston Project, we fully support them and look forward to seeing their film.
Our film is about celebrating dance, film and expression through movement, we want to build and celebrate community dance in Brighton and Hove.
It was a honour to be a part of this film. I have been dancing for many years but this was my first experience of Charleston. The dance community can often feel small and exclusive but this really did reach out to many many people. Some putting their dancing shoes on for the very first time. Everyday of filiming or classes was a joy and I laughed and had fun the whole way. Brighton should be proud to have all these new dancers in the city and part of the now ever growing arts community.

i live in brighton and this is brilliant.i think its better at promoting the city than the tourist board here is.thank you as i have watched it quite a few times and smile every time as everyones happy in it

This was probably a few years back but Charleston is pretty much timeless, , thoroughly enjoyed seeing this one, thanks to those who took part and made it so watchable🙂⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
