  • A film made by the artist RETNA and long time collaborator G. Lewis Heslet in which Los Angeles native RETNA talks about his inspiration behind painting "The Falcon Before and After - 2013" and "Para Mi Gente, Los Pintores de Nuestra Alma" at The Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art's Grand Ave Location for their 2013 Gala.
RETNA also discusses his experience with the Louis Vuitton Young Arts Program in which he was a mentor and helped the teens produce three canvas' focusing on their view of what it is like to be an adolescent, what it is like to be a teen, and what it is like to be an adult. The paintings were unveiled at MoCA's Teen Night, which is an event organized and run by teens in the program for their peers.

Yeah I like the youth aspect that's all good. I wonder is they know retna was the original Wall climber bombin Buildings downtown and midcity? HaHa! So Happy for him he's "The Man Now!!!!! LV,Chanel,Keith heiring shows off the chain incredible!!! He got in at a good time with that style influenced by chaz. But he always had original twist to his work nobody really look like his. I think Brail was the first i seen with that style all curly and crunchy together it was ruff too. i wasn't feelin it until it got cleaned up. But he not even doing that no more just script text. Something he can flow wit and make lots of. Congrats!!!!!!!!!! I like the big one Blacks n greys real Style n funkyness to it!
