Jerry hitting the remote reminded me of the rat that randomly stepped on a button throwing Ant-man out of the quantum realm... after 5 years. Now that I think of it, one was time travel and one was another dimension. Either way in both cases it was eventually going to happen, wtf.
Once again, Jerry fs things up for Morty. This time, however, he did the worst F up for Morty ever; Morty was finally happy living his life, until Jerry dropped a TV remote and did not bother looking at it; truly the most pathetic human being in animation! Major face slap.
Yeah - Like how do you go from the competency of common criminals questioning everything at the beginning to the sheer incompetence of Jerry who questions nothing?
FUN FACT: The extended montage part was the director's idea: the writers were 5 min short with the episode so they added that subplot entirely last minute. That's likely the reason no dialogue was written for that scene.
The plane crash scene was based on a plane crash that happened in 1972 with a Uruguayan soccer team. Most of the group ended up dying, and the survivors lived by eating the bodies of those that died.
I would definitely try everything on the menu, and have 30 different conversations and really get to know the people I'm at the restaurant with. Then at the end, redo the best meal and best conversation and make those canon.
didn't they have to change to another reality when Morty went "doolitle" with the squirrels? it got erased from Morty's memory but still happened right?
bro watching this is truly see how tragic it is that Morty gave up on the existence he made by doing all those things and their consequences, but also on his life with her. He only saw the negatives and not the possibilities.
might be my favorite episode of the whole series.....I was cracking up when Morty yelled at the Heroin bum "I don't pay you for your friendship" and he just goes "damn" hahaha I love this show!!!!
Can we mention how amazing the title of the episode is? The writers were so confident in the strength of this episode that they just named it "The Vat of Acid Episode", they knew that this is what people would search for to find it, and that the central theme was so good that they didnt need some punny name
One of the best episodes period. Only thing I wonder is why Morty didn't use the remote during the whole time he was in the relationship with the girl.
Rick and Morty didn't kill the Rick and Morty of the universe that they're currently in, they were building a machine and it exploded in their faces killing them .
This end of this episode reminded me of that doctor who episode “The forest of the dead” when the simulation husband of Donna Noble couldn’t call to Donna cos of his lisp, like how Mortys girlfriend was about to stop him from jumping in the acid but was too late
This episode kinda reminds me of South Park’s “Scott Tenorman Must Die”. Like Cartman, Rick does something incredibly evil for the pettiest of reasons. It’s fucking brilliant.
I'm expecting Morty to spot the one that was his girlfriend, probably next season sometime, in his current home reality. Will be interesting to see him having to choose to keep dreaming for Jessica or if he'll choose to try and recreate his hookup with her since it worked in the other reality.
for the Q&A "would you rather go on an adventure with Rick and Morte or the doctor of your choice?" i don't actually know witch adventure would be safest, people die on Doctor Who adventures almost every episode
I think the plane crashing in the snowy mountains and resorting to cannibalism is a reference to the 1993 movie 'Alive' which was based on real life events.
Yo do you realize that morty trying to jump over the manhole is an example old side scrollers where noobs try to figure out how to jump over river you keep dying then finally you make it to the next screen scroll, dye immediately in a new challenge and have to start over from the last check point which is before the first hurdle itself
To clarify and help explain why that montage was so long was because for some odd reason the creators had 5 minutes of the video that they needed for a full episode so a writer put that whole thing for a regular 23 min or so long episode and that's why there was no dialogue because it was a squeezed in part
I haven’t written a full in-depth review for a movie in a long time but Soul left me with a lot to say. Let me just get something out of the way first. I was really excited for this movie and went in with high expectations! I love Pixar pretty much all their movies other than a few. I also generally like animation movies because I mostly grew up with them and it’s been cool over the years seeing animation for these movies get better and better! I’m also a big fan of this movie’s director Pete Doctor! The man knows how to make beautiful and compelling movies and stories that are often really emotional! From Up to Inside Out and Monsters Inc. He knows the work and you could argue he perfected it. So I went in into this movie with a lot of high expectations, one of them being that I predicted that Soul may be my favourite movie from the entire year! Cause when I heard about the premise of the movie I was super intrigued and I felt like I resonated with it. I’m happy to say that this is a movie a lot of people will resonate with and connect with and even I resonated with it at some of its messages. Soul for me felt like one of Pixar’s most ambitious films yet. It’s wildly different then what you would expect from a family animated movie. I would argue that this movie is aimed at adults or students who are looking for explanations or purposes In their life. That’s how mature it is, and I think if young kids would watch this movie they wouldn’t like it and it would be far from them being able to understand this story and the messages it presents. This movie is really complex, deep, intimate, personal and unfortunately too complicated for its own good. I personally might have a disadvantage with understanding the story of this movie because I find myself often getting confused and not understanding what the filmmakers and writers of movies want to convey to me. So that might be an issue with me and not the movie’s but, I was pretty confused with the story and everything that is presented. Nonetheless, let me go back on how bold this movie is though because I honestly wasn’t expecting this from Pixar. This movie has a lot of layers it explores, it’s fast-paced at just ninety minutes and wildly different from anything else in its field. So it’s important to give credit where credits due. I didn’t even get started on how breathtaking and incredible the animation for this movie is. I could say so much more on the level of detail Pixar and their entire team put into with there animation for this movie. The movie was also unexpected at times when it gave me vibes from the movie Freaky Friday and how the events from this movie were similar to that movie at parts. It also had great music that it presented, astonishing world-building and well-realized characters that you end up caring for. Overall Soul was one of the most unique movies Pixar has to offer. With a dense and compacted plot and messages that will leave audiences pondering long after its over, humour that works for most of the time, clever dialogue, characters with a lot of personalities and just gorgeous animation makes Soul one of the best movies of the year. Unfortunately for me though I felt like I couldn’t appreciate and grasp all the messages, morals and the overall story that the movie had to offer. That’s alright though because I still had an amazing time with Soul!

Which to be honest Im sad about. Cause it could have been way less disturbing episode. The "Alive"/soccer team players stuck on Andes story is horrific at it is, using it to fill the screentime was at the same time unnecessary, but also it made this episode 100 times more impactful.

I wish they were alternating who sits in the tiny chair because I really want to see tiny versions of each of them
I don't know why but I feel like this was a favorite of the cast for the back half of the season, had to be fun making this mess!
I love how during the whole montage, rick is nowhere to be found, and the whole family is pretty happy. It would have been cool if morty had refused to jump into Rick's vat at the end and just accepted responsibility and turned himself in while flipping rick off.
That would be the single possible choice more petty than Rick this episode, and that's great
Actually we can see Rick in the dinner room with the girl and the rest of the family at one point, but yeah, Rick clearly knew what was about to happen and decided to stay way from all of that for the most part
@@nolangerrans6083 not really, Morty would be arrested and r**** in jail if he didn't jump in the vat (even tho this wasn't their reality, i think Rick was willing to left Morty there forever if he didn't jumped in the vat)
@@nolangerrans6083 I just thought it was funny how morty came to rick talking about the importance of accepting responsibility for one's actions, but when it came time to face the music he took the easy way out by jumping in the vat. Surrendering to the authorities would have been in line with the "lesson" that morty thought he learned.
@@Kveldrunari The only authority Rick cares about is himself and the only responsibility he cares about is Morty apologizing and accepting that Rick is god.
Damn Morty was so happy with that girl that he never used the remote for the entire relationship.
The relationship between Morty and that girl with the glasses are really going pretty well, it's just too bad it ended abruptly with just a push of a button. Talk about the one that got away, literally.
This reminds me of a time when I played a video game and forgot to save it for a really long time and then the game suddenly just crashed out of nowhere, wasting my time and also losing those precious items that I have obtained. It really sucks.
literally saw the same comment on the normies

Dude. I've done that before. The WORST fucking feeling. That feeling in the pit of your stomach of "Did I save!!!?"
koosh the doosh dang u exposed that poor bastard
The Simpson Easter egg was obvious but was one for South park aswell. The clothes they wore on the snowy mountain were all the colours of the South park kids
And also, Rick talks about Futurama
And Morty was Kenny!
Pocket Morties just refers to her as "Morty's Girlfriend"
Did they update the game? I deleted it when I finished it a long time ago
@@joker_views They've been adding new Morties and raid battles and avatars based on the recent episodes
Arthur Watson oh wow! Might have to download again, thank you!
I didn't know she was in there. That makes me sad and also want to unlock her. Pocket mortys is still alive and well, thankfully.
This episode stumped me. For two reasons:
1. When did Rick bring them to another reality to avoid ruining their own reality with the merge?
2. Morty brought up at the end how this Rick isnt his own Rick, so, do we end with our own Rick or a different one?
he probs moved morty when he was sleeping and when rick presses the button after he says "every rick has a vat of acid" we go back to normal rick...i think lol
Morty moved himself when he first used the remote.
Ricks are smart enough to send morty back to his original Rick.
i love the silent hypnosis as they gape slowly in unison when rick spills the beans to morty that he prestige’d himself!
This was easily the best one of this season. Such a great episode. Love watching your reaction videos. Sending love from Slovakia .
I love how Rick says he has no respect for and isn’t interested in time travel when he has a box on his shelf right next to him that says “Time Travel Stuff”
Now we gotta wait to see what Eric did that caused him to reset at this point...
Probably went to Arby’s in Columbus Ohio
This episode is similar Roy's simulation. Post: So stupid Jerry.
@@johanliebert4622 Rick wouldn't have let that happen. I mean he's probably the one who crashed the plane. Rick could have found them when they were crashed so easily if he wanted to
Never realized how big the room is that y'all film in until u guys had one reactor sit so far back
This is definitley my favourite episode in season 4 and defo in my top 3 of the whole series. Had me laughing from start to end XD
Only Rick can be this dark and it be hilarious 🤣🤣
I love how every season has that one episode that is almost perfect.
@@-hasamastersdegreeinwumbol8565 which ones do you think ?
@@daredevil6145 to answer your question I'd say:
Season 1: Meeseeks and destroy
Season 2: Total Rickall
Season 3: The Ricklantis Mixup
Season 4: The Vat of Acid Episode
For season 5, I don't really know because I've only seen the first episode.
@@-hasamastersdegreeinwumbol8565 I agree with you
and about S05- I've seen 5 episodes (1,2,3,4 and 7) they have to do better than Nimbus one to be perfect
Jerry hitting the remote reminded me of the rat that randomly stepped on a button throwing Ant-man out of the quantum realm... after 5 years. Now that I think of it, one was time travel and one was another dimension. Either way in both cases it was eventually going to happen, wtf.
Wish they kept the part where they fight
Ikr
Once again, Jerry fs things up for Morty. This time, however, he did the worst F up for Morty ever; Morty was finally happy living his life, until Jerry dropped a TV remote and did not bother looking at it; truly the most pathetic human being in animation! Major face slap.
Yeah - Like how do you go from the competency of common criminals questioning everything at the beginning to the sheer incompetence of Jerry who questions nothing?
Don't worry, Rick would screw Morty up anyway.
@@Astuar that is true, but there is a difference between Rick and Jerry: Rick is an a-hole and Jerry is a pathetic human piece of crap.
@@antman7288 At least in most realities anyway
But why tf didn’t Morty add new checkpoints to save his progress while he was dating that girl?
Morty had years worth of personal growth an character development in this episode.
Rick: Explains the horriblle reality of the remote
Eric and Aaron: 👁️👄👁️
Calvin: This is fine.
This episode was incredible, first 10/10 of the season for me!
I was so happy when they referenced The Prestige, one of my favorite movies ever!
I would definitely try everything on the menu, and have 30 different conversations and really get to know the people I'm at the restaurant with. Then at the end, redo the best meal and best conversation and make those canon.
Came here to rewatch after this episode got an Emmy
Moral of the story: don’t ever diss ricks ideas. EVER.
I watched this episode twice now and your reaction 3 times this night be my favorite episode of the show definitely of the season so far
This was the most craziest episode ever.
I keep forgetting this show is back on lol
ikr they takeway too long so when theyre back for the little time they are, its hard to stay in the rhythm of it
i think you guys omitted the best parts of the episode
bruh the funniest part was the acid proof guy lol
didn't they have to change to another reality when Morty went "doolitle" with the squirrels? it got erased from Morty's memory but still happened right?
When morty lost his girl like that it gave me a whole new perspective on life
bro watching this is truly see how tragic it is that Morty gave up on the existence he made by doing all those things and their consequences, but also on his life with her. He only saw the negatives and not the possibilities.
I didn't notice this on the initial watch, but the segment with Morty and his girlfriend the music is from/references Up?
might be my favorite episode of the whole series.....I was cracking up when Morty yelled at the Heroin bum "I don't pay you for your friendship" and he just goes "damn" hahaha I love this show!!!!
They pulled a twisted version of “Up” 😂
Was looking forward to this all day.
That plane scene is an ultimate example of show don't tell
Can we mention how amazing the title of the episode is? The writers were so confident in the strength of this episode that they just named it "The Vat of Acid Episode", they knew that this is what people would search for to find it, and that the central theme was so good that they didnt need some punny name
I don't understand how Morty didn't think to checkpoint reality when his relationship was getting good...
This is my absolute favorite episode of the show.
12:04 Same, Rick. I, too, feel the sting of feeling robbed of a rocky road ice cream with peanut butter instead of marshmallows
One of the best episodes period. Only thing I wonder is why Morty didn't use the remote during the whole time he was in the relationship with the girl.
Feel like they make it very special since it is the only good decision he ever made in that reality😭
There they go back to trolling us with the continuity again lol.
Rick and Morty didn't kill the Rick and Morty of the universe that they're currently in, they were building a machine and it exploded in their faces killing them .
The Heist episode was also about Rick being petty.
11:41 I’ve never laughed harder at anything
It’s just a butt joke but it’s so out of nowhere it’s fucking hilarious
aww, did they skip the blazing row where Morty caused Rick to lose his temper? cos that was my favourite bit
This end of this episode reminded me of that doctor who episode “The forest of the dead” when the simulation husband of Donna Noble couldn’t call to Donna cos of his lisp, like how Mortys girlfriend was about to stop him from jumping in the acid but was too late
This is one of the greatest episodes of the show because it's got some funny moments but the core of the episode is raw emotion.
You guys act so surprised that Rick is so petty. Have you guys not watched the first three seasons? 😃
dont forget they jumped another reality when Morty went all Dr. Dolittle and Rick had to zap all the squirrels
The season 4 finale wrapped so many storylines up nicely
you're editing out the best moments! "KISS. THE VAT!"
15:27 on the post credits scene of the previous episode you can see the their graves in the backyard
i never laughed so hard at the beginning....ooohh hey ooohh... not the rat the guy!! lmfao
8:23 is the best part
This episode kinda reminds me of South Park’s “Scott Tenorman Must Die”. Like Cartman, Rick does something incredibly evil for the pettiest of reasons. It’s fucking brilliant.
I swear, this is probably the funniest episode of the series. I can't remember laughing harder than I did during any other episode.
2:24 This man is golden.
I'm expecting Morty to spot the one that was his girlfriend, probably next season sometime, in his current home reality. Will be interesting to see him having to choose to keep dreaming for Jessica or if he'll choose to try and recreate his hookup with her since it worked in the other reality.
Quite possibly the greatest poll to ever poll.
for the Q&A "would you rather go on an adventure with Rick and Morte or the doctor of your choice?"
i don't actually know witch adventure would be safest, people die on Doctor Who adventures almost every episode
This episode killed me when I first saw it🤣💀 cant wait for season 5 it’s almost here
Only Rick would invent something more elaborate and complicated than fucking time travel to get back at Morty
I love all the little details like the plane has 571 written on it en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uruguayan_Air_Force_Flight_571
To clarify and help explain why that montage was so long was because for some odd reason the creators had 5 minutes of the video that they needed for a full episode so a writer put that whole thing for a regular 23 min or so long episode and that's why there was no dialogue because it was a squeezed in part
Oh my god just went to check my subs page to see if you uploaded and it said it was uploaded 1 second ago
At the Beginning I was sure they would just stay in the vat for the whole episode. It was hilarious when he "saved" without noticing and got that pepper spray like 7 times :-D
You could save when you’re a kid and live your life the way you want then reset when you’re on your deathbed and relive your life but another way this time.
That red pill or blue pill in the control was genius!! Best season 4 episode so far for me
