The reason for the pants wasn't a choice on his part. I believe he explained this in his Mr. WrestleMania DVD that he had thought at the time he retired, that he would never wrestle again. So he had gotten rid of all of his ring gear. Plus that stuff didn't really suit the man that he was anymore. So he needed new ring in a rush so he went to the ladies that had done all of his previous ring gear over the years. They came up with a quick design however, it was going to take several days for them to dye and dry the fabric of the tights to get that classic HBK red color time, that Shawn didn't have. So, he just had to take them as is and that's what we got. Hope that info helps Santi.
