    Dude when you watch a jiu jitsu match it doesn’t seem that exiting but when your actually fighting it’s like so intense

      Jui jitsu is like chess, you can do many moves but move what is the best for the situation. Until you checkmate/submit/chike your oponent.

    It makes me so happy to see someone lose because they went for it. Nicholas Merigali deserves the utmost respect for not just trying to win by advantage or stalling. Way to go man that’s awesome!

      Buchecha also got bailed out by the referee stop at the boundary. That was extremely fortunate for Buchecha. It also looked like Buchecha was arguing for a better position after the reposition.

      @@zadkiel242 I mean go watch highlights or boxing if u want to be entertained lmao. This is high level grappling, no room for errors, it's a lot more technical, from my professors they say it's a lot like chess. If u really enjoy watching bjj, you'd stick to the end and try to improve from this or see what they did wrong.

    Cara, que arte marcial diferente! Eu fiz aula de Muay Thai por um tempo, e agora na escola onde sou professora, meus alunos tem aula de jiu jitsu e eu os acompanho.
    Assistindo a aula deles, percebi que nunca tinha visto uma luta dessa arte marcial e vim procurar.
    Que bacana!! É bem diferente do Muay Thai.
    Eu sei que parece óbvio mas pensava que todas as lutas eram lutas, (de socos e chures) rsrs, mas percebi que todas as lutas tem suas próprias regras e seu próprio jeito.

    Infelizmente as paralisações sempre desfavorecem quem tava numa posição de vantagem, dá pra ver que aos 3:33, a mão direita do Buchecha ta embaixo da parte de trás do joelho do Meregali, ai quando volta pro meio aos 4:04 ,a mão do Buchecha ja ta na calça do Meregali, dominando totalmente o quadril, e com o seu próprio quadril totalmente relaxado, só pra bater o joelho e raspar o Meregali, final e semi-final pelo menos tem que rever essas paradas pra voltar pro meio, porque sempre acontece injustiças.

      Meregalli tava mais na transversal antes da paralização. O joelho tava mais em cima de Buchecha e logo no recomeço o joelho tava praticamente no tatame e Buchecha muito mais de lado.

      Ruy José o kimono é medido sempre antes de cada luta. Ainda acho que o Buchecha foi beneficiado porque a luta não voltou na mesma posição após a paralisação.

      Just look at his back too. Buchecha's back was flat when they got called out of bounds and then after the reset he was directly on his side.

    estava há alguns anos sem treinar e agora que voltei vejo muita coisa nova que mas me parece firula que algo realmente útil em uma luta, mas quando vejo uma luta dessa tenho certeza que não estou errado, jiu jitsu clássico, sem firulas e com dois grandes lutadores.

    Bs, that reset made the guy in white lose his momentum. He was spinning the blue guys while the blue guy was trying to defend. When the reset happened they both started at neutral, and the white girl guy was easily bounced off. Because the blue gi guys got to start with out the pressure.

    I just started bjj this week and am having a blast. I understand much more now and still so so so much to learn but when I watch fights on the ground I appreciate the techniques they use much more now and this match was super interesting and pretty exciting for me but idk what do I know I’m just a freshly new white belt.

    3:35 olha apegada do buchecha atrás do joelho com a mão esquerda dele, cotovelo direito no alto, nao tava encostando no chão quando o juiz parou, o meregali foi GARFADO! ele tava na posição estabilizada, joelho apontando pra montada, quando voltou, aos 4:09, o buchecha trocou completamente a pegada e ajustou tudo pra raspar com pegada na faixa com a mão esquerda e cotovelo direito no chão, o que dá mais alavanca pra raspagem e o meregali completamente sem base com o joelho pra dentro.

    Today I took my first BJJ class. I learned a lot of people could easily just break my arms and choke me out NO PROBLEM. Humbling experience. So fun. Everyone is so friendly. So respectful. Highly recommend.

      @@harshshelar6014 BJJ is the best for self defense because, it is about submitting your opponent. Choke holds and arm bars and locking them in place. Boxing is better for fighting on your feet. If you wanna start a fight and win. It’s boxing. If you have a big opponent bully, do BJJ.

      ​@@codWAWandMW2 is BJJ really effective in self defense though? I can imagine against multiple harassers it's not that effective and there are too many factors in those kind of encounters. A choke hold I see can work but rarely do I see arm bars being effective in those scenarios.

      Derek Shelby I thought I knew what degrees were, i meant buchecha's black belt had no red bar like usual and only had a white bar the same size. I thought degrees were the same size as stripes that youd brt for any color belt

      Derek Shelby I've seen blue bars on blackbelts, pretty sure they're for royce gracie and valente brothers jiu jitsu school systems.

      Sometimes athletes use traditional bands of judo, which are theoretically more beautiful, and have no color at the tip, are totally black. But the Brazilian federation of jiu jitsu does not allow bands without a colored tip, so they put a white tip. Can be it.
