Dude, mandocello, Greek bouzouki, and Irish bouzouki are all distinct instruments. The definitions may be arbitrary but they have a function. I play mandolin and some of that would translate between all three but they're by no means the same thing. That said, no shade. She sounds lovely and you play very well
@@emilioooooooooooooo different function, same scales, different tuning, the tuning is the biggest difference. a violin to a cello, is like a mandolin to a mandocello. but thats not why you here, you here to say that someone is wrong, feels good doesnt it?
Scale length = length of active vibrating string, which is all different. Nice strawman, but trying to educate. If someone was calling your culture's dulcimer a cello, you wouldn't say anything about it? Or do you love ignorance? Blissful, eh?
@@kasper-jw2441 the bigger issue is your insistence that a bouzouki is the same thing, which it's categorically not. It's not even tuned to fifths, which is really the only similarity the others share.
Got an Irish Bouzouki a few months ago (also a Hora from Romania) and it's been my favorite thing in the world ever since. I almost never pick up my guitar anymore. Theres just something about the bouzouki that fits me perfectly. Beautiful instrument
Mandocello is tuned in C, has a shorter scale and bigger body, while Irish bouzouki is similar to an octave mandolin which also has a shorter scale, but they are tuned in the same register.
Beautiful instrument! If you like the Bouzouki and Mandolin, give Lady Moon a watch/listen. She is an amazing musician and vocalist. She has mad gorgeous skills on Guitar as well. Another fabulous Bouzouki player is Frances Cunningham. I used to enjoy her playing live in a local Celtic band eons ago. Check these fantastic Bouzouki players out!❤
I just got mine today! I tried tuning it on the way home from the post office but it was hard to do so. I did not want to hit the driver, my husband in the face! It’s beautiful!
Alec Finn, Andy Irvine, Donal lunny ,(me) all play Greek Bouzoukis AND Irish bouzoukis Tim O brien has one that LOOKS like a F hole Gibson guitar as do Sara Jarose(sp). Gerald Trimble plays a cittern (10 strings). Mine was made by Joe Foley in Dublin =$$$$. Welcome to bouzouki owner club. Get ready to answer questions from know it alls who've never seen one. Irish and Greek bouzouki's are pretty different from each other, and a mandocello is not an Irish Bouzouki. And Irish Bouzouki is more like an Octave Mandolin as compared to Mandocello.

not that different... its the tuning, unison or octaved, thats all...
@@kasper-jw2441you're wrong. Is a viola the same as a violin or cello? No. Different scales, tuning, and function.

Irish and greek bouzouki are completely different instrument - the greek one is bowl-shaped, with longer neck, and different tuning.
Creates months of wear and tear before even striking the first note.

Beautiful
Yeah sounds good. Has a chorus sound like a 12 string.
Nice instrument. I love it
what do i think? its really like a 4 strings greek bouzouki..witout the round bombom...the fact that its called bouzouki fascinates me.
I just got mine today! I tried tuning it on the way home from the post office but it was hard to do so. I did not want to hit the driver, my husband in the face! It’s beautiful!
More like octave mandolin. Bouzouki is commonly tuned GDAD, Octave Mandolin is GDAE. Mandocello is CGDA. Have fun playing any and all of them.
Nice!
Try Greek bouzouki for more bright sounds 😉

There's a huge difference between greek and irish zouk - in the shape and tuning.
Buzuki equals octave mandolin, mandocello is lower.
That's mandocello, than octave mandolin, than mandola, than mandolin.

Indeed. The scale length and tuning is what generally differentiates the octave and bouzouki, although there is a grey area where they cross over.
@@spencer5914 Indeed
Definitely not a bouzouki lol
How do you sound 22 and look 76 (Not to be rude)
