  • Hundreds of people drive under it each day while traveling on Clovis Avenue, but are you familiar with the history of our City of Clovis sign?
We have created a short video which documents the nearly 100 year history of the sign, from the original wood sign, to the current neon version we have today.
After you watch the video, we hope you would stop by the Tarpey Depot, located not far from the sign, to pick up a free “Gateway to the Sierras” sticker, while supplies last.
Thank you to all who contributed to this video with information and photos including Shawn Miller with the City of Clovis, Beth Christensen with the Big Dry Creek Historical Society, Pam Nelson with Tarpey Depot, and K.C. Rutiaga with Fresno Neon. And a very special thank you to Christian Zarcone from the City of Clovis who shot, produced, and edited this video.
