Hello dear Luke. Thank you so much for the time, effort and love you dedicated to making this video. All amazing choises. To my list I add Delina Exclusif, Addict, Lolita Lempicka and Noir pour Femme by Tom Ford. They might not be considered Gourmands but to my nose they lean sweetish. Today I experimented mixing Shalimar with Tocade and it's heaven! The leather of Shalimar is soften by the sweet of Tocade and it stays like a natural sweet musky skin. Thank you so much again! A big hug
Hi Ana. I agree. Dior Addict and Lolita Lempicka have some gourmand touches, and they’re both sweet. Delina was rather tart on me; I must say I wasn’t a fan. You’re most welcome! 🙂⭐️
I have the original wish from back in the 90ies. It is very strong and I love it since then. All the others you are mentioning are now on the tray for the colder season. Today it is raining and quite chilly so I chose Hypnotic Poison. I' m surprised how much I adore the scent when it gets colder outside. Tocade is iconic, allone the bottle...
I’d love to experience the original formula, I’m sure it’s much richer than the current one. Hypnotic Poison is my go to cold weather scent too, although I might well reach for it in the heat too.🙂
Hi Luke 🎉 Wish is still on my ‘wish’ list 😂 I prefer classic gourmands. When the gourmands are still on the perfumey side. I do have some straight gourmands that I mostly use as a bed scent. I always look forward to your videos and recommendations. 💛
Hi Leah. So do I! I like the idea of abstraction in fragrances. I don’t want to smell like I smeared cupcakes all over my body, but I don’t mind a nice, cakey, perfumy vanilla. Thanks for watching!🙂🧡
Hi there! So do I and I don’t really understand why the EdP has been getting so much hype recently. I’ll always go for the o.g. Thank you for watching.🙂🍂
Nice range of sweet fragrances Luke. Some pretty bottles in this video too. ❤ I don’t enjoy a full-fledged gourmand. I prefer it to be backed by florals or even a tobacco note. I do love Hypnotic Poison though. I haven’t smelled the Alyssa Ashley vanilla in years, but I do still have the musk from that brand. 😊 I hope you find a second hand bottle of Absolute Aphrodisiac one day. 🤞🏼
Thank you Betty. I wouldn’t classify Hypnotic Poison as a full-fledged gourmand either. Yes, that’s another good one. I keep seeing bottles if it in my local department store. I hear it’s similar to Jovan Musk.🙂✨
I think I'm quite random in my gourmand choices. I like the old school ones like Angel and modern chocolatey patchoulis like Dark, but then randomly I sometimes like something super sweet that I wouldnt ever think was me and I can't really work out why 😂 it's unpredictable....
Yes!! I was so excited to get a pen spray of original ANGEL 🥳 I originally got the modern hair perfume and I did not like it, but this vintage is ❤ awesome 😊
@@dr.claire.perfume I’m assuming it’s close to the original release. I heard that if it is labeled MUGLER is from when L’Oréal took over, but if is labeled Thierry Mugler, then is when he was releasing the fragrance 🤷🏻♀️
Hi Claire. That’s interesting. My tastes have been changing too and I’m able to appreciate an occasional sweet gourmand but I’m still not a fan of sugary sweet scents.🫡
You’re exactly right. The modern gourmand trend has taken 'gourmand' to new extremes. As I mentioned, I prefer fragrances that are more abstract. Thank you for watching.🙂✨
This was interesting as I definitely am Not a gourmand lover at all. I only own Lolita Lempicka EDT (original formula!), plus YSL Manifesto. I just don’t want to smell like food. Thanks, Luke!❤️🌹
Great selection. 150ml of HP should last you a while😅. I don't currently have a bottle, but around Black Friday, I was thinking of getting Dua's Hypnotizing Venom (meant to be of 1st formulation of HP). I loved your description of abstract gourmonds.
Hi Kathy, thank you! 🙂 It was the best value for money, and I got it 20% off, so it was an excellent deal. I’ve heard of that one. I think the current formulation of HP is quite good. Thanks for watching.🙂
Hi there! I’ve tried it several times, but the EdT will always be my favourite. The EdP is more modern, sweeter, and has a heavy licorice note. Thanks for watching!🙂🧡
@@lukeparfums Hi Luke. I have read the same thing about Hypnotic Poison EDP. that it has a Licorice note in it, and it smells different than the one you and I have and Like ❤ the edt. It Also went Up AGAIN. Now it's close to $90 something 😮. Love your video!
@@nancymarkiewicz8123 You’re right but they’re pushing it... I stocked up on Hypnotic Poison and Addict (didn’t pay retail) but won’t be purchasing anything else from Dior for the moment in light of the recent scandal, as you might know if you follow fashion news. I do have my eye on a few Chanels, though!😁
I love Hypnotic Poison EdT, but only when it is cold. In general I really do not like gourmands and sweet perfumes. Always so disappointed when a perfumes dries down and you can distinguish vanilla. And unfortunaltely an awful lot perfums do nowadays. Mostly they remind me of car/house fresheners or are cloyingly sweet.
I actually prefer Wish to Angel. The patchouli in the later is just too much for me. As gourmands go I don’t care for the photorealistic/edible ones other than say- a vanilla. I much prefer a perfume with gourmand touches, but my favorites are amber/oriental, soapy florals, or chypres.
I meant to add, if you like Vanilla scents the Sabrina Carpenter perfumes are very pretty. The original Sweet Tooth is a kind of whipped vanilla which is very popular. My favorite however is Sweet Tooth Caramel Dream, which interestingly doesn’t really smell like caramel to me. It has a similar profile to BBW’s Warm Vanilla body spray, but it’s much more complex. There’s definitely something autumnal about it, warm and a whisper of spice. It works well layered with Obsession and Opium, but is lovely on its own. They’re both affordable.
I prefer and will always go for the original (EdT), which is an absolute classic. The EdP is a bit sweeter and stronger on the licorice, which I don’t like as much. Thanks for watching.🙂

❤
Let me know how you like it.🙂🍂
@@lukeparfums I'd love to have a few of Vanilla by Alyssa Ashley. My sister likes vanilla, and so do I.🌜
Hi Luke. I prefer the Edt of Hypnotic Poison as the Edp has liquorice in it which I’m not a fan of. You have a great collection there Luke 😊

Hypnotic Poison is amazing in cold weather. That can happen if a vanilla perfume smells cheap; not all vanillas smell cheap. Thanks for watching.🙂✨
