Thank you so much for this recipe! You can only eat one tiny slice at a time, but this slice is just delicious! The amount of honey is just right. I had to bake the batter all at once in a 10 inch cake pan, which took a while longer, but the cake was still soft an moist. Next time I will only make half of the buttercreme, so it won't be so heavy.
thanks for this recipe! most of my family don't care for chocolate desserts so I'm constantly looking for new and interesting ideas. Absolutely love the idea of this! can't wait to try it ;-)
This is definitely a crowd pleaser here...everyone really liked it. I hope your family does too :) Take a look at my strawberry cake recipe. The cake and frosting complement each other perfectly..it's one of my favorites!
+Jar of Vanilla it was delicious, made it with a swiss meringue buttercream and added the honey to that! topped with candied pistachios. thanks for the recipe! will definitely check out the strawberry cake
Hi, From the very start, I like your video, the music and the video itself make it looks so easy to bake this cake. I certainly will give it a try. thanks
Thanks for your video! Really well made (both the video and the cake!), and I'm definitely inspired to make this one. I'm glad YT recommended this clip for me. Keep up the great work!
this cake could easily sell for 40 bucks including shipping (for the holiday season ) depending on size ... looks like it tastes amazing too ... would you add pistachio pudding ( a tad bit ) with store bought cake mix .. sprucing it up a bit with vanilla almond extract .. and throw some marschiano cherries ( I know I spelled it wrong lol ) but that seems like it would be amazing with pistachio or maybe pineapple too ... but your cake is amazing and I wish I could actually make what I said like you do lol
For the non-Americans... only the Buttercream: Sugar - 300 gr Flour - 42 gr Milk - 365 gr Heavy cream - 80 gr Butter - 375 gr Vanilla extract - 5.7 gr Honey - 51 gr
this looks so delicious, I think I gained weight watching it....thank you sooooo much for sharing.....I had the greatest Gateau aux Pistache once - every one i tried later never matched - this one looks and seems the closest to it, so hopefully my search ends here...Im also glad its not using the pudding mix :-)
I haven't try this type of frosting. I like to experimenting with different kind of frosting... since it contain flour it will steady on sunny day but since its contain whip cream, that i'm curious.Wondering if you had try bring outside before and how was it. Thanks.:) i love pistachio cake! thanks for the recipe.
Hi I love your video I tried it the cake come so good but the butter cream didn't come out like yours fluffy at all I did all the steps u did and I used hand mixer I don't have stand mixer maybe because of that?
Hello! This cake looks amazing! However i dont use butter in my cakes i am gona try this with vegetable oil. I always find cakes with butter are less moist and more stiff, whereas cakes that contain oil are super moist
Hi I have 3 9inch cake pans. In the recipe its says 8 inch.. Can I still make 3 layers with the 9 inch pans ? or should I need to make 2 layers instead ?
Would I be able to divide the batter into two 9 inch cake pan's instead of the three? Or a larger size pan? Would that affect the cook time? Thanks looks delicious
Hi...yes you could divide it into 2 instead of 3, you just need to make sure that your pans are deep enough.my 9-inch pans are shallows so it's better for for me to divide the batter into 3. And yes, depending on how much batter goes into each pan, the baking time would increase. I suggest that you initially check after the recommended baking time I have put, and then do a toothpick test every 5 minutes to ensure you don't over-bake. Best of luck!!
I have noticed in a couple of your vids that you are making 3 layers, are you actually baking one cake at a time? Or do you bake off the three at once. I just wonder about the batter sitting for a long time if one at a time.
My oven is not large enough to take more than one pan without touching the sides of the oven so I bake them one at a time. Growing up I used to think that if batter sits on the counter it won't rise as much but I've tested it and measured with a ruler. Nothing really happens. They all rise about the same. The first pan goes in right away, the second pan waits at least 20 minutes. And the last pan sits around 45 minutes...and the difference is unnoticeable. I like to get an even bake so I choose to split them as such. You can always opt to put all the batter into one pan. But the baking time will increase. Hope this helps. :)
+anony Hi, I haven't tried it in a 10 inch round pan an adjustments of this type can be a bit tricky. If you don't have a problem with the cake not being as high as the one I made in the video, then I suggest that you use the same amount of ingredients with a 10-inch cake pan. I think it should be fine :)
+Hind Alai I looked for the reason to this, but I haven't found anything. However, it must be significant since there are a lot of cake recipes out there that use ice-water :)
Thanks!! :) I really don't know why it uses cold water...I tried to research why but came out empty handed. And I haven't had the time to experiment what happens if cold water isn't used. When I do, I'll let you know! :)
Honey is mainly used for the flavor so you can just omit it. The buttercream already has sugar in it so it wouldn't make much of a difference with the sweetness..
+Balqees Hasan It's for one 3-layer 9-inch cakes. So out of this recipe, you get three cakes which you put on top of each other to make a 3-layer cake. Hope that helps!
thanks; I just prefer speaking videos...it is helpful when looking away or attending to oven and you cannot watch.....the music is just a distraction and not necessarily to one's taste or suited to the subject being demonstrated. There seem to be too many "mum" videos these days....sadly. Fine recipe though will try it; looks beautiful.
Jar of Vanilla I have seen they add egg as well to this milk and flour pudding! so basically they make custard then when it cools down they beat butter into it!! are those pistachios salty ?:)
mary concha hernandez I'm sorry I don't understand...I think you want a translation to the video/recipe. You can check for the recipe on my blog and possibly use google translate to translate it. jarofvanilla.com

Wow amazing cake 👍👍👍!
Can you use salted and roasted pistachios?
Would I be able to divide the batter into two 9 inch cake pan's instead of the three? Or a larger size pan? Would that affect the cook time? Thanks looks delicious

How many inch you used for the cake pans??
Hi there, may I know for the buttercream, the flour that you used is cake flour or all purpose flour? Thank you! :)
What's does the ice water do? See a lot of recipes adding ice water to the batter.
i want a slice please 😍👍
What ingredient can I loead the cream tartar with.
I can't find cream of tartar in my country. What can I use instead of that?
+AnonymousMe I use a teaspoon of white vinegar or lime juice, to give the acid to the egg whites, instead the tartar.
+Cibelly Santos thank you for sharing :)
AnonymousMe For nothing, you're welcome :)
Hi :) lovely recipe. why have you used ice water instead of regular water?
Mahwish Khan or u can change to milk... make it rich flavour... what you think? ;)Jar of Vanilla
Hi! Can I know what is the hand mixer you used for whipping the egg whites?
It's just a generic brand I bought from the hyper market.
Ehm what can In use instead of cream te tartar?
for what the 3/4 cups all purpose flour ?
I have noticed in a couple of your vids that you are making 3 layers, are you actually baking one cake at a time? Or do you bake off the three at once. I just wonder about the batter sitting for a long time if one at a time.

Can you please tell me the weight of the large egg? (:
Hi there,
I was wondering if I can use the frosting under fondant?
+jayvega7 Hi! Yes, it's a pretty sturdy buttercream! :)
+Jar of Vanilla now I must try it for sure with my lavender cupcakes!!! Thank you dear...
+jayvega7 let me know how it turns out! :)
More new videos please
Can i add shredded carrots too?
+Emmylene Chua Although i haven't tried, you probably could. It would make it a more moist cake.
Also for a 10'' round pan, how do i modify the measures of the ingredients for a 2 layered cake ?
+anony Hi, I haven't tried it in a 10 inch round pan an adjustments of this type can be a bit tricky. If you don't have a problem with the cake not being as high as the one I made in the video, then I suggest that you use the same amount of ingredients with a 10-inch cake pan. Hi ! I would to know the ingredients list ?
How many cups of flour, baking powder, pistachio etc? Where I can find it?
How many eggs too ...
kenosha sua
please always check the description below the video as she already mention in the video...
What is the deferent between ice water and normal water for the cake ?
+Hind Alai I looked for the reason to this, but I haven't found anything. However, it must be significant since there are a lot of cake recipes out there that use ice-water :)
Can I get the recipe with the measurement
how could we get the exact ingredients amount in grams ?
Totally enjoyed this video! And yes why the cold water?
Thanks!! :)
I really don't know why it uses cold water...I tried to research why but came out empty handed. And I haven't had the time to experiment what happens if cold water isn't used. When I do, I'll let you know! :)
I plan to use milk or buttermilk instead of water :)
Buttercream recipe at 4:20
hi, could the recipe be made on a 10'' cake pan?
Yes but the cakes will be thinner. Maybe it's better to divide the batter into two instead of three.
Can you please give me the buttercream ingredients measuring?
All the ingredients are in the description below the video :)
Can sub ice water to milk?
I haven't tried it but I don't think it would make that much of a difference..it might even make it taste better.. :))
what can be substitute for honey ?
Honey is mainly used for the flavor so you can just omit it. The buttercream already has sugar in it so it wouldn't make much of a difference with the sweetness..
Thank you so much:)
Are the pistachios salted or undalted?
Not salted
cake weight plz..1 kg or above. ...
oh coould you give the ingredients please
Description box 😊

+Balqees Hasan It's for one 3-layer 9-inch cakes. So out of this recipe, you get three cakes which you put on top of each other to make a 3-layer cake. Hope that helps!

Flour in buttercream... does it taste strange?
No..it tastes great and it's much lighter than regular buttercream..You cook it over the stove until it thickens...think of it like pudding..
Jar of Vanilla OK thank you for your quick answer
You should do more videos Your recipes are great
Jar of Vanilla I have seen they add egg as well to this milk and flour pudding! so basically they make custard then when it cools down they beat butter into it!! are those pistachios salty ?:)

Dear Jar of Vanilla, please can you make the coconut cake with silk meringue buttercream from joanne-eatswellwithothers.com/2014/04/coconut-cake-silk-meringue-buttercream.html
would love to see a demo of this!
Why, do people bother to flour parchment paper. Nothing ever sticks to it. It’s a complete waste of time.
