I think that Em could totally do a 4:44 after that. Also, Nas proved that you can talk about a lot of things and experiences that are exclusive for older people. Most of his demographic are middle age and older so they are going to relate.
Either way people will hate on it, from the people saying "i wanted old eminem," to the people saying, "eminem is 55 and still rapping about ___." At this point my advice to Eminem is to find a theme, stick to it and ultimately do what truly makes him happy, not trying to appeal to the expectations of every type of listener, (thats one thing that ruined revival, wasn't focused sonically and content wise, i.e. a mix of songs being poltical, personal, fictional or comical, because he thought that he made something that every type of fan will enjoy,) and the real fans like me will appreciate it.

Honestly if it is that, I'd argue that is probably one of the best angles em could go for and be the most successful at doing so. Most people these days have finally come around to agreeing that Relapse was a good album it's just the accents annoy people or get on the nerves after some time etc etc. And whenever we've gotten something Relapse esq (notably when we got Discombobulated from MTMB Side B) people ate it up and many myself included saying it was one of his best tracks in a while
I might be wrong but wasn’t a huge problem people had with Em post-relapse, was that he started losing that Slim Shady type persona and moved to become closer to what’s popular in the mainstream? Outside of a handful of songs, hasn’t he already kinda killed the alter ego? So idk how much a “killing of slim shady” album after trying to kill it since 2010 or whatever is the correct move imo
well he never made an official announcement of it character wise, he's just been trying to avoid the persona but brings it back every now and then (like he did on Kamikaze) Pretty sure the concept of this album is more of a message to his fans, like "please stop telling me to be Slim. I'm older, i don't need to be against "the system", i'm chill" Which now let's him focus on Marshall/Eminem more
Nah it’s his flow and delivery that changed. He traded in that slick fluid delivery pause for that staccato rushed double time flow. Also started relying too much on Word play and punchlines instead of imagery and storytelling which is his superpower.
Regardless, im very excited for this album and where Eminem will take it. I like that it has a theme. And if it’s a goodbye to his persona, then so be it. He’s gonna be 55 soon. I just hope to hear great production, some cool features, and great lyrics from Slim.
A murder case type of album would be dope af. If Em executes this he’ll join Nas as the only other ‘old school’ rapper to assert himself in this decade
I think Em should zone in with 1 producer for the whole album, preferably The Alchemist because that is the most realistic option, an Al is dope. (I wrote this comment before watching the video)
The concept of the tweet sounds cool but I'm worried it won't go this direction especially with that feature list floating around. I will go in there with the lowest expectations but would be happy to be proofed wrong. Also props to Spike he has been a great addition the past few videos he has been on
If Eminim raps like he is with Royce in Bad Meets Evil, or Caterpillar, hell even if he has lyrical thoughts when he was just talking on Royce Allegory album.
@michaellacey7730 Ahh. I think he started doing that after Revival. Remember, Revival had like a whole rollout with the leading single track, which ironically featured Beyonce. That track sucked, and then people saw the track list and noticed all the pop star features and talked shit about that too. Then the album came out, and it was absolutely garbage, so after that he has been doing surprise drops. He is probably too scared to do a full complete roll-out again. Haha
@@OmoruyiOmofonmwan yup you're right. I did forget that though. ironicly Walk on water was the only song I liked on that album 😅 I'm cool with a more somber, introspective, socially conscious Em, but Revival wasn't the way to do that.
I feel that this album needs to be a return back to the Eminem of old. The album feels as though it has a solid concept, and much like Relapse or Kendricks GKMC album, I'd like to see each song tell a story and be connected to each other. I really hope its not like MTBMB where it seems to have a horrorcore concept but really dosnt. The only thing that gets me excited for this is the mention of Slim Shady.
Yeah and I'd like to see Em REALLY do that for once. He's never truly done it even with Relapse. At best he themes an album. But he's never connected the whole thing as a story, which is madness bc he's one of the best storytellers in rap history. But yeah it does feel like he's actually maybe going to do that this time. I hope so.
I am excited for eminem album becuase of the producers and also Nas and Dj Premiers album. These 2 album have the potential to be best albums of 2020s. I think that if eminem has good features in the album, it could be classic, and the features should be just rappers, no r&b and pop singer. just Hip Hop and maybe rap rock features like Zack De La Rocha or Mike Shinoda would be awesome. Eminem and Pusha T or Kendrick would be awesome features.
Because he’s not good at it. Like I keep hearing this, in fact I’m pretty damn sure OP is either reading off of some script, or he’s the same person I saw saying it on Reddit. And I’ll make the same response: it’s because people think those artists are better than Em. It’s that simple.
Just because you rap fast don’t mean the song is good and to me that has been Eminem’s issue. RTJ and shit even tech n9ne who I think fell off super hard have made good songs in the last idk 10 years lol eminem been missing my guy.
I’m not asking for much: better beats, no robot flow. MAXIMUM 1 fast rap song, no dad joke punch lines. In fact I don’t want punch lines at all. Just talk and make it rhyme. Old Eminem was not a punchline heavy rapper
Hot take This album could basically just be Relapse 2 without the accents and I think it would be the easiest angle em could go for that would be successful. There is other angles especially in the conceptual side that can definitely work and be even more successful and would be better but I doubt we'd get that. At this point it's generally agreed by most that Relapse was not a bad album people just didn't like the accents and they got tired etc etc However beyond that it's a good album and the times we got something Relapse esq people ate that shit up (Notably Discombobulated from MTMB Side B, many people including you guys ate that up and wanted more) And I think if he finds that groove and sticks to it, we'll get a nice album
Whoever 'guessed' that concept in 2021... which is how long he's been working on it. That doesn't make no sense. That sounds like what it's going to be too.
4:00 I swear this dude always makes me stop watching your videos... Like @Therockbestwrestler said, hating on an album before it is released is fucking wack.
I think Em should tap into his old shit and I hate to say it but his voice and how he rhymes is off to me now. I cannot put my finger on it but his tone just sounds like he has a satirical vibe all the time. His music used to provoke emotion and I hope this can come back to that.
lol them talking about... 'we don't know if he can do mature man rap'... wtf they talking about. He's been doing plenty of it his whole career. And recently. How tf is Arose not... it's one of the most somber, emotionally mature fucking things I've ever heard in rap. They're acting like all he does is rap silly shit or like slim shady or technical scheminical. How is Darkness not mature, how is Never Love Again, how is Zeus; Castle... and always... fuckin', Mockingbird, he's been doing this forever. Going Through Changes.
I want this album to be Eminem's 4:44, like when Jay killed Jay Z on that album and became just his real Shawn Carter self. If Eminem does that and really reflects on his career, and have those producers? We are looking at probably a top 5 Eminem album. Plus he signed Griselda, so him having Daringer production isn't far fetched at all.
No way Eminem is gonna do a straight up Boom bap album he hasn’t done that since Infinite…& that album wasn’t received well…it’s the whole reason why he created the slim shady alter ego…he was frustrated about the industry & how his life was going at the time…plus his heavy narcotics use…i’m sure he will have some boom bap production but i don’t think he would do that for a whole album…..as long as he doesn’t go full pop…with the corny hooks the production isn’t really the problem…what he needs to nail is the lyricism…less rappity-rap lyrical miracle & more substance…wether it’s introspective or humor mixed with social commentary like his old stuff…not corny wordplay & double entendre for the sake of being clever…& not having to sacrifice the bounce of his flow & delivery just for a complex rhyme scheme….basically rapping wise he needs to get back the basics of what his music compelling in the first place…i’m not asking him to re-create his old stuff…i want him to evolve but still not lose what made his old music great in the process of that growth…if he does that he can make his best album since relapse or even since the eminem show…but i doubt it…cause that’s a very high bar
I personally don't have a clue who these guys are. That's not me being disrespectful. I'm Scottish. Anyway, it's interesting for these guys to have such opinions on Em , yet one of them said, "When did he come out early 2000s?"
@@aperson7303what a stupid, ignorant comment. The fact that you’re getting upvoted means DEHH are definitely smarter than a lot of people who watch them. Do you remember the DEHH UK shirt? Got anything to say on that, or are you just a fair weather fan?
Why are you embarrassed? As a EM fan you should know why the back him so hard, especially when he gets criticized for the wrong reason alot of the time. people have a right to feel a certain way about things that's life.
Not sure what’s cornier Em Stans who don’t understand/know Hip Hop at all, or Em haters on the wave. If you didn’t think Darkness, I Will, Yah Yah Yah, Ringer, Fall, Good Guy, Greatest, SteppingStone, Book Of Rhymes, Zeus, Ya’ll Gon Learn, NotAlike, KillShot, LuckyYou were good to dope on Em’s last 2 albums I don’t know what to tell you. There were def misses on Kamikaze MTBMB also (Nice Guy was horrid as was song with Ed Sheeran and Into Deep to name a few), but to act like there wasn’t any dope songs/concepts/skill just means you don’t like Em period. They literally thought Em took an idea from someone on twitter in 2021 when he’s been working on this idea of the death of Slim Shady since 2010?!?😅🤣 Every HipHop head (including myself since late 80s but especially 1991) has wanted Em on more classic raw boom bap hip hop production. That goes without saying and I still don’t understand why he hasn’t done it more the last 25 yrs knowing how much of a head he is. He can get any producer he wants! Em you will sell a ton no matter what! Give us a boom bap EP/LP or at least 3-4 songs per album!
I know the Stans are hurt by this conversation but as a Em fan I’m excited by this release. My hope is that Em will make the first great Em album in 20 years. Hopefully he won’t do that stupid rapping fast, and actually have some great production and let the producers come up with great hooks.
Exactly. Dude don’t have it in him anymore. Eminem hasn’t made really good music in a crazy long ass time. His suburban/mobile home park fans will glaze regardless though lol
@chiarosuburekeni9325 like seriously his last few albums have basically been promoted as "concept" albums and then when you heart that shit it's like...where?
I think I’m just over Eminem albums. I think if he stops making these commercial ass rap albums he can appeal to the spitters again. Don’t get me wrong he still has amazing rap ability I think hes just missing what makes him so great. If he goes back to just rapping again like he did on “infinite” or SSLP . I would listen. And idk what his issue is with always picking the alchemist throwaway beats. Needs to be addressed.
I wonder if Marshall is scared to work with the great producers of underground hip hop? If he has been with "yes men" for so long, he may not want to face the quality underground producers because he knows they wont be impressed if he cant bring the quality to match and they will be honest about it. He'll have to face the fall off of his career if he cant make a track with Alchemist sound good.
With a well established, celebrity rapper it’s considered a money/promotion opportunity. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s not like they’re going to say, “nah em, can’t do this. I ain’t feelin it.”lol
@@malod Not exactly my point but that's a fair one. My point wasn't about the producers working with Em and why they do, but why Em wont work with talented, underground producers like The Alchemist and alike on a full album. Marshall is set for a king's disease style return to hip hop, something mature and purely for the art. But I wonder if he knows he is too far gone to make something that is truly artistic and not just for commercial appeal?
@@lvngwndw9244 well yeah he has shown that he can get insecure a bit. As far as far gone, just say that to guys like Big Daddy Kane and those guys. A true hip hop artist never dies, but we’ll see. It would have to be him not caring anymore to drop off.
@@lvngwndw9244not really sure where this comment is coming from. Eminem has been on plenty of features with producers he doesn’t usually work with. & he almost never ruins his feature, except maybe the Griselda track. 2) it has never been hinted that he has an issue with having a normal conversation with producers about what sound he should rap over. That was pulled out of thin air
@@lvngwndw9244”kings disease” nas is not the template for how to age gracefully in hiphop. His music has always been somewhat moody pro-black, so u almost expect this transition. Eminem should be compared to someone like Brother Lynch Hung, the father of horrorcore rap, who is still making ACCLAIMED horror rap albums, & he’s also an Old Head, too, staying tru to his lane. One shouldn’t expect South Park to suddenly become a Drama suddenly overnight. Why expect that of Em? this is all untred territory for every hiphop artist growing old. Who are we to say what the “tone” should be?
Wait, is he paying that girl for the idea if he actually does it like she's saying? Also, if this is what the album is I might give it a listen. I don't want Em to go back to serial killer/incel rap (which was great at the time) and I don't want this Em that's too obsessed with technical skills to get good beats and actually make good songs. I think the best Em would be Infinite era Em but more matured. He doesn't have to go back to that Infinite style, but that was probably the last time he seemed like a normal human being for an entire album.
Well if yall listened to MMLP2, Recovery, Revival and Relapse were all grown man raps he had just got back after his hiatus. But no one liked those albums because he was grown.
@@chaoticprogress I say that because that’s the first album he did after his hiatus he has to learn to learn how to speak, rap and write again. You gotta know his story to understand.
Eminem waited to long to turn the corner. He ate off of the corny element for 25 years. He has skills, but he never found his lane sonically or content wise. Compared to Nas and his run the last couple of years, Eminem has a lot of catching up to do. Nas & Premier > T.D.O.S.S
Now that Myke is gone… the Eminem hate is gon be insufferable 😬 but if you listen to Eminem’s verse on “Lace It” (by Juice Wrld’s) it’s such a great and personal verse of his because he’s practically giving advice and is speaking like a grown wiser man to the audience about drug use. I think he is heading down that path (if not then that’s fine too since he’s always been talking about grown man stuff throughout his career). Even tho he’s been doing that for years I think him turning 50 made him wanna focus more on his Legacy. Regardless, stop mentioning Jay-Z for crying out loud
Em just needs to stick to hip hop...for as much of a fan/student of the game he claims to be his albums still sound overproduced, buil for the masses, made to apease too broad a fan base and generally just too reliant on rapping ability with not enough focus on jusg making good music. He should link up with one or two boom bap producers like alchemist, havoc, madlib, statick selectah or even maybe someone like a harry fraud if he wants something a little more melodic and wavy. Stay away from all the anthems and ballads, avoid the 80s rock samples, avoid singing his own hooks and avoid putting pop singers on his hooks. It sounds like a lot but its really not that complicated...look at what nas just did. Look at what Hov did on 4:44, Just rap at a normal pace and flow, get some solid consistent sounding production on 10-15 tracks and remember what made you hit in your prime be honest and vulnerable but not corny and bitter
I am not excited about this album, just curious because at one point Eminem was my favorite rapper. But I fully expect this album to be trash. His recent track record has been awful to medoicre at best. I hate the flow he has been using since 2013.

Pretty sure the concept of this album is more of a message to his fans, like "please stop telling me to be Slim. I'm older, i don't need to be against "the system", i'm chill"
Which now let's him focus on Marshall/Eminem more
Nah it’s his flow and delivery that changed.
The majority of Em’s songs weren’t produced by Dre. It was the Bass Brothers and Luis Resto
exactly, Eminem himself produced more songs on his albums than Dre. But they can't see that because of skin color.
Relapse is the exception to that
If he don't bring back the Bass Brothers and D12 on the features it ain't Slim Shady
Also props to Spike he has been a great addition the past few videos he has been on
I think that feature list was confirmed fake recently
Idk if talking about his issues is gonna change anything. Em's done that in the past and people have clowned it for his approach
If Eminim raps like he is with Royce in Bad Meets Evil, or Caterpillar, hell even if he has lyrical thoughts when he was just talking on Royce Allegory album.
They say he corny but these new rappers are saying even less and less topic wise. He made Not Alike for a reason
Didn’t ransom and Rome Streetz have an album called Coupe De Grace?
Yeah great album to
Hey im excited for it, I still rock with em
I'm very tentatively excited for the project. But tbh once I saw he was doing a Beyonce like roll out I immediately lowered my expectations.
What do you mean by Beyonce type roll out?
@@OmoruyiOmofonmwan high budget production roll out. Not a single or a teaser. Gives a full on popstar vibe imo
@@michaellacey7730they said he never does a roll out.. What's wrong
love Spike Lou as new member
I hope so.
4:05 aight grandpa let’s get you back to bed
I am excited for eminem album becuase of the producers and also Nas and Dj Premiers album. These 2 album have the potential to be best albums of 2020s. I think that if eminem has good features in the album, it could be classic, and the features should be just rappers, no r&b and pop singer. just Hip Hop and maybe rap rock features like Zack De La Rocha or Mike Shinoda would be awesome. Eminem and Pusha T or Kendrick would be awesome features.
Basically, expect these guys to hate it no matter what.
my god Ken is hilarious!
I’m always here for a new em album but I’m not expecting greatness. I hope I’m wrong.
He also did post a pic with Dre, Ez Mil, Alchemist, Mr Porter and Royce. Not tryna get my hopes up but the people around him seem good
True ..let's go 2200
I need a full Alchemist WestsideGunn album Pray For Detroit Just want Grimmy Em
Right direction for Em.
Everyone loves technical fast rapping until Em does it. Tech N9ne and RTJ are celebrated for being technical but Em gets shredded for it
Nobody want that from anyone, not just em. You prolly old af
That old head take is corny bro, you probably think NBA Youngboy is profound (FOH). 😂
@@anchorageant7545 yeah ok. People love Black Thought, Aesop, etc for being super technical but nobody wants that from anybody huh? lol
Damn I thought yall was going to review Marciology
I’m not asking for much: better beats, no robot flow. MAXIMUM 1 fast rap song, no dad joke punch lines. In fact I don’t want punch lines at all. Just talk and make it rhyme. Old Eminem was not a punchline heavy rapper
I actually want an album where he sounds like he did on Infinite
Man, that would be great. Denaun Porter’s production was so good on that album, Em needs to use his beats more
Hot take
This album could basically just be Relapse 2 without the accents and I think it would be the easiest angle em could go for that would be successful.
There is other angles especially in the conceptual side that can definitely work and be even more successful and would be better but I doubt we'd get that.
At this point it's generally agreed by most that Relapse was not a bad album people just didn't like the accents and they got tired etc etc
However beyond that it's a good album and the times we got something Relapse esq people ate that shit up
(Notably Discombobulated from MTMB Side B, many people including you guys ate that up and wanted more) And I think if he finds that groove and sticks to it, we'll get a nice album
Whoever 'guessed' that concept in 2021... which is how long he's been working on it. That doesn't make no sense. That sounds like what it's going to be too.
Why are they already complaining and asking what comes next? This album isnt even out yet
4:00 I swear this dude always makes me stop watching your videos... Like @Therockbestwrestler said, hating on an album before it is released is fucking wack.
1:18 I’m pretty sure that’s rod and not Myke
I mean hey if theres a couple good tracks that'll be something
1:17 damn yall mfs done made me sad 😂 no need for that graphic anymore ☹️
Another ❗ Kenspiracy ❗ Eminem is going woke 😂😂
The way he said it was hilarious too, Ken man 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So he merged with slim on evil twin, and now he's killing him? aight then.
this ain’t marvel comics
I lost all hope after i saw that lineup
I personally don't have a clue who these guys are. That's not me being disrespectful.
I'm Scottish.
Anyway, it's interesting for these guys to have such opinions on Em , yet one of them said, "When did he come out early 2000s?"
If you're Scottish then you need to butt out any hip hop conversation for sure and for good.
These guys are of the culture.
@@aperson7303what a stupid, ignorant comment. The fact that you’re getting upvoted means DEHH are definitely smarter than a lot of people who watch them. Do you remember the DEHH UK shirt? Got anything to say on that, or are you just a fair weather fan?
They are pretty well versed in hip hop, they haven't been fans of Eminem since post TES and that's standard for a lot of old head rap fans.
these Eminem fans are mad butthurt about an honest and casual discussion between hiphopheads. As an Eminem fan, I'm yet again embarassed
They literally thought Em took an idea from someone on twitter in 2021 when he’s been working on this idea of the death of Slim Shady since 2010?!?😅🤣
Every HipHop head (including myself since late 80s but especially 1991) has wanted Em on more classic raw boom bap hip hop production. That goes without saying and I still don’t understand why he hasn’t done it more the last 25 yrs knowing how much of a head he is. He can get any producer he wants! Em you will sell a ton no matter what! Give us a boom bap EP/LP or at least 3-4 songs per album!
NO ONE HURT EMINEM UNDERSTAND ME DESTINY HAS RESERVED THAT PLEASURE IS MINE AND MINE ONLY
I know the Stans are hurt by this conversation but as a Em fan I’m excited by this release. My hope is that Em will make the first great Em album in 20 years. Hopefully he won’t do that stupid rapping fast, and actually have some great production and let the producers come up with great hooks.
Yall are setting yallselves up for disappointment
How can you say that jay z 444 was a young person album and and how can he be trying to make it fit in but be different, that don’t even make sense
Tell me one thing lotto me icefly and poppa doc wanna make peace or war hmu wigga right
He needs to inspire himself from GFK's 12 reasons to die
Didn't Eminem already kill Slim Shady at the end of Encore?
Wait, is he paying that girl for the idea if he actually does it like she's saying?
Also, if this is what the album is I might give it a listen. I don't want Em to go back to serial killer/incel rap (which was great at the time) and I don't want this Em that's too obsessed with technical skills to get good beats and actually make good songs. I think the best Em would be Infinite era Em but more matured. He doesn't have to go back to that Infinite style, but that was probably the last time he seemed like a normal human being for an entire album.
I think these people are jealous of Eminem’s lyrical agility ability cause he’s so talented with his pen game

Noo. Because the music is simply not good. That’s all. Live with it. Plus the pop influence makes it so much worse.
Eminem waited to long to turn the corner. He ate off of the corny element for 25 years. He has skills, but he never found his lane sonically or content wise. Compared to Nas and his run the last couple of years, Eminem has a lot of catching up to do.

Even tho he’s been doing that for years I think him turning 50 made him wanna focus more on his Legacy. Regardless, stop mentioning Jay-Z for crying out loud

Eminem has been working on this album for 8 years
Says who
Em just needs to stick to hip hop...for as much of a fan/student of the game he claims to be his albums still sound overproduced, buil for the masses, made to apease too broad a fan base and generally just too reliant on rapping ability with not enough focus on jusg making good music.
