My first tech job was fixing pinballs 35 years ago. Brings back some memories. Resolder the pins on the edge connectors is what I remember most. From heat and vibration they take a beating. The diodes on the coils would break also.
+mrkitsel True, I still have to re-work the edge connectors. I purchased a bag each of the different connectors and a good crimping tool so one of these days I will cut all the wires one at time and put on new ends then reflow the pin headers. I don't want any more fuss from those old connectors either.
RanHam335 I guess I could. Seemed too easy to just buy a working one on eBay for a few dollars being I was purchasing other parts. It might just be some bad caps but if it's an IC I don't think I would care to purchase parts for it. I will put it on my list of videos ToDo list. Thanks.
Just watched both parts. Very nice work and a great looking pinball machine. I'm with you on just owning one. I just have the one arcade machine, Galaga. By the way, whatever diet you're on is working. How did you lose so much weight in such little time!? You look really good. I'm trying to lose a few pounds myself.
TanRu Nomad I love Galaga, I would like the small combo Galaga/Ms Packman arcade that is out there if it wasn't so expensive. I lost the weight by limiting to a protein shake for breakfast and for lunch. Then TV dinner at 8pm in the evening. Like a "Healthy Choice" meal. Then water or V8 with a 5k run 3x a week and weight lifting 3x a week for about 6 months. Now the hard part. keeping it off.
I remember watching Jeri Ellsworth remove a mylar coating from a playfield by using an upside-down compressed air can to break the glue's bonds with cold. She used to do lots of pinball restoration on her streams and stuff, it was interesting stuff. Found it: ruclips.net/video/Dp-eVbH0ROI/видео.html
FyberOptic Yes, I have seen that video and do remember that tick. Thanks for sharing the link! The video I seen her do this trick in was much older but this link shows the trick better.
gfx2006 Yes, About 50 lb or so. Trying to keep it off now. It took 6 months and a lot of running and eating just right. Horrible 6 months but worth it now that I finally dropped all the weight I have been lugging around for 25 years. Didn't know if people would notice right off but I guess so. Thanks.
kchiem I wish you the very best of luck. I recommend to start walking a 5k then work your way to running portions until you can run the full 5k three days a week. Protein shake for breakfast and lunch with some fruit. Then nothing more than a "Healthy Choice" TV dinner and some V8 juice mixed 50/50 with Perrier water. Don't eat supper until after 8pm so you don't go to bed hungry. Only cook the TV dinners in the oven because they suck microwaved. In 3 to 6 months you will make goal. I did.
2020tesla yup! Sure have. Loving being 50 to 60 lb less. Makes everything so much easier and enjoyable. I have lost weight in the base but this time I'm determined to keep it off.

Can you do a video trying to troubleshoot your bad sound card if you get a chance?

kchiem Thanks! I hope to keep it that way too.
***** That's no small feat. Awesome work, congratulations! I need to lose about 20 lbs myself, and find this inspirational.
