Shawn I dont know if you ever read these I hope you do or some one will direct you to this. I have to thank you from the depths of my heart. Your music has made a huge impact on my life gotten me through some of the hardest losses and struggles i have ever known. A while back a young man was killed right in front of me. Shot right in the face. I never saw the shooter. I saw a boy falling. he was 17, i ran to him as everyone ran from the shots.. it was in a park. He died in my hands as i tried to compress the wound.. it isnt the worst thing i have ever seen, the wound i mean, but it was the one that shook me. See i am an ex con. did 13 years for being a dumb ass kid, so i have seen men die and bleed and hurt eachother for most of my whole life. but that boy.. Shawn Scott Jr is his name. He broke me. I still see his blood some times on my hands. I still wake up nights and cry and scream and sometimes most time i cant sleep.. sorry to share that, it isnt something I like to talk about much. But your music, your words and bakers, they give me strength. There is absolutely no mercy for the weak of heart.. for i have been trampled.. and in many ways torn apart. and have never known mercy. trying to avoid sounding stalkery. I am not your fan. But am am moved by you. to tears. many cleansing tears. many days I just sit and sing your songs with wild abandon trying to get some of this pain out. trying to make some semblance of sense to why the fuck i am here. There is alot here I know.. sorry. My name is Dustin Jefferson Gollyhorn. If you google me you will undersand some of my pain. And some of what you helped me to get through. I want to thank you so much. You have done me a world of good without ever recieving a dime from me. Well i did buy flow on I tunes..lol but thats probably not even a dime when it gets back to u. Any way. Thanks. You really helped.
Alo Murphy and how does it feel to come back to a country thats sees you as nothing after youve done your job... not trying to hate respect from across the globe
"It's been a few years and a couple hundred sunsets Since I fired a rifle in rage. A dozen leather couches and substance filled pouches, Still I can't fully turn the page. You know that it's a snake eat snake world. We slither and serpentine through. We all took a bite and six thousand years later, This apple's getting harder to chew." Yessir.
From shawnjamesmusic.com - "I've let the sun set three hundred sixty five times with murder running deep in my heart. If I didn't directly pull the trigger, I sure as hell played my own part. You know that it's a snake eat snake world. We slither and serpentine through. We all took a bite and six thousand years later, this apples getting harder to chew. Tonight, boys, we're eating like kings. We've all tasted death too much it seems. Tonight, boys, we're eating like kings. It's been a few years and a couple hundred sunsets since I fired a rifle in rage. A dozen leather couches and substance filled pouches, still I can't fully turn the page. I feel like you wouldn't say "sniper rifle" then. cuz that was surely not just the standard issue it was a .50 with a short little scope. was a weird setup
Being a veteran this song really hits home for me. It gives me a feeling that I can't put into words but I'm sure my brothers in arms know exactly what I'm talking about without saying a word.
I kinda like the album version better :l I feel like the dude recording the vid was singing along. and I could hear him over Shawn . which is who I came to hear sing ya feel
heh. I recorded half the video, the other half was a friend, and we weren't singing along. I think the second voice you're hearing is Baker, he was pretty far gone by this point in the show, so he was behind tempo a bit where he sings. The sound didn't come from the camera, it came directly from the sound board recording.
cmon man, think before commenting.. clearly it's baker singing with shawn, and he's spot on with his timing, he's the echo to shawns vocals.. it makes the song what it is..
bud, looking for the part where u said sorry, still don't see it.but hearing u now say it I take back what I say because I wouldn't diss anybody on a shawn james track cos were all brought here for the same reason.. to some it resonates to the soul....as u were...

In description it says "Written by Baker (on banjo)" are you saying he wrote it while playing a banjo because he's playing a mandolin in this.
