Something a little different from me, With an unseasonal deep low pressure for Summer forecast we headed for BHX to see if we could get some bumpy landings!!

6:50, I guess the audio is a couple of minutes out of sync, or is there a second 380 taking off shortly after?
Ha yes, I cut a bit out but forgot to adjust the audio

Great video Elwyn . We have had similar winds here in Sydney these last few days , with 40kt winds and some “ interesting” take off and landings . I will be in my beloved BHX in about 6 weeks on a flying visit , literally , and look forward to some different aircraft to spot . Thanks for sharing , and eat your heart out Mr Flugsnug 😀.
Been going here for 30 years, used to go into the 'cabbage patch' in the spotters lounge and it was more of a day out as back then we hardly had anything come in. The highlight of the evening was what the Lufty would be lol. They were fun days though and I recently took my daughter there as I did 12 months ago, she loves the 380.

Every day I get 2 A380's fly over the house from Birmingham. EK40 at around 14.50 and EK38 at around 22.30
WHY IS NOBODY BUILDING FULL CIRCULAR RUNWAYS??!!
Crosswind Landing would then be a thing of the past as all landing or take offs can be done into the head wind.
Greater safety for passengers!!!
The Dutch have been researching this for years. Too many potential issues though.

The sideways loadings on the landing gear must be absolutely enormous with some of these landings, quite astounding that the aircraft structures (and tyres) stand up to this abuse. Especially that long slender-looking gear on the Dash-8. Scary stuff.
How to get hold of ATC audio in the uk?
Holy moley! That's some kind of headwind on takeoff! Weird being a pax and getting to see the centerline on T/O or landing.
Why is the runway bumpy
