Im 34 years old, im Introverted & also a Highly Sensitive Person. Phubbing feels HORRIBLE when its done to you. STOP DOING THIS OR MAKE NEW FRIENDS IF YOUR INTERACTIONS ARE SO BORING YOU CANT PAY ATTENTION!!!!
I didn't know the word and I like it, too! So: Thank you! I knew only one person to consistently phub me when we met. I always felt it to be a cultural difference, instant - or rather constant - communication seemed to be very important to them. When I met friends prepandemic we either met to talk. And then we explained that certain calls or messages needed to be answered immediately (children, relatives or friends in hospital). - Or we met for smartphone-breakfast/ lunch and sat together at a table, eating and drinking something and each of us was occupied on their smartphone. We would occasionally share something or talk with each other for a moment. But otherwise we felt comfortable just being together. Really interesting!
I'm looking this up because it just happened to me and we ended up having a disagreement about it. Can anyone else read and listen to someone talk at the same time? Cuz I can't 🤷♀️ so I don't believe they're listening to me. They just think I need to get over my insecurity of not being heard.
Usually see middle school/high schoolers doing the ear pod phub, didn't know it'd reached the adult workforce? (Or maybe they grew up and became the workforce?) Was just in a German lab... and no earpods there... so hopefully if you switch labs at some point the culture there will be more... human 🙂 - Conor
@@dw_podcasts Most of my coworkers are in their early 20's. I have seen it in other workplaces too. Generally it is most pervasive among those in their 20's.

Admitting you have a phubbing problem is the first step 👐🕊❤

GOD bless for the knowledge. I feel more people should watch this. And then use the knowledge.
