5:45, you bring up a good point. Yes, I stopped playing the piano because I cannot play knowing that I have ears on me, hearing every mistake. And learning a piece takes months for me, which is tough for people living in the same building. I really need a practice room like the ones they had at university, just a small room with a tuned piano and no one else listening. I'm not much of a performer. I enjoyed playing the piano for personal reasons.
The good thing is that those ears seldomly judge the actual playing, it's more the fact that there is sound that can spark annoyance. The chance that people hear the mistakes is actually quite low, so that can be a comforting thought :) Do you have an electronic alternative that you can play on? Maybe a hybrid type? At least then you can practice at home without fear :)
I could tell a lot about my childhood and youth with lot's of nusic in our family. When I started to play the violin again in Covid-times, I talked wit tweo neihbours before and infromed them. And I do not play violin after 7 pm. Okay, I don't practice several hours a day - but it helped a lot to talk. - Could it be a solution for professional musicians to found a group and rent a house or a practice room - and share the cost?
Talking helps a lot indeed! It is somewhat of a dream of mine to be able to build places with several units for musicians to live and practice in with proper isolation materials, but I'm a long way from materializing that thought 😅
You’re awesome and I love your performance and musicality !! 😊
Thank you for your kind words!! 🙏😊

why not an house in the city v a flat?
As far as I know, houses aren't always available or within price range. But of course living in a house reduces the chance of upsetting neighbors :-)
