This is an excellent setup. Easy to use and sharp looking too! These folks do an excellent job in demonstrating this camper. They obviously are more than “sales people”. Thank you
Absolutely love these campers and a dream of mine to have one. No way I can’t afford 20k+ and used ones are gone in a blink. Now that everyone and their grandma want to go camping due to the covid it’s even worse.. wish there were more companies making them. 4wheelcampers are the best in my opinion. Keep up the good work and maybe when I retire I can have one.😬
Watched for the video procedure of installing the turnbuckles but only got a verbal description of the process :o( But, I did learn that turnbuckles are used instead of ratchet straps. At least for long-term camper installs.
If you have oversized tires or are on even a slight incline this becomes *VERY* difficult, even after doing it *MANY* times. The jacks on the FWC are not heavy duty.
Another question is if the camper is usable off the truck, i.e. standing on the jacks? Keeping in mind it is standing leveled on the firm ground and etc?
Question for a truck camper vets. Do you actually take the jacks off? What happens if you go somewhere (say you need to get work done on the truck) and you need to take the camper off but the jacks are home in the garage?
Most customer remove the camper jacks for travel on their camping trips. But if you think you are going to take the camper off the truck for some reason, you can travel with the jacks on & attached to the camper.
Question, do the jacks come with wheels on the bottom so the camper can be moved around? In my case this would help with storage. Great videos, thanks.
Craig. Not a good idea to put wheels on the jacks, but many of our customers build a small wooden dolly, set the camper on that, and then push it around where ever they want. Easy. Safe, Secure.
@@FourWheelCampers I can see how the wheels on the end of long legs would be unstable. Thanks for the quick reply, a dolly sounds like a good idea. You guys build a nice camper!
Does pushing the camper from the back actually move the camper? The Hawk shell dry weighs 1100lbs. I think that would be pretty hard to get to move at all.
Thank you for your interest! For more info and videos on our Flatbed models for all truck sizes please go to our website and click on "models" and select "flat-bed". The flatbeds are bolted to the frame and are not practical to take on and off on a regular basis. It takes up to two hours vs. 30 minutes for a slide-in camper. Either way, we prepare the camper and truck at our facilities. After initial install, you can manage it. For more questions and info please email "Mike@fourwh.com" at our factory in Woodland, CA. Thank you and have a great day!
Approx. 1' ft (varies). Best to measure from the truck bed, up 54". From the floor of the camper, to the top of the roof vent (camper closed) is 54" inches.
You can sleep "stealthy" while roof is lowered but it is designed to sleep in the queen or king size bed with the top up. Check out our 3D videos of inside campers on www.fourwheelcampers.com. You can also ask questions directly at "sales@fourwh.com". Thank you for your interest!!!
Thank you for your interest! Please visit our website for great videos and info. It takes less than two minutes to set up from the moment you arrive at your base camp. Once up you can sleep in our queen or king sized beds, cook, eat at a table, use the sink, and use a toilet. The ceiling is 6' 4" to 6' 6" high so it is spacious. When the top is down it is possible for a person (possibly two) to sleep in what our customers refer to as "stealth mode". For more information from the factory please email "pete@fourwh.com". Thank you and enjoy your day!
What are the "D-loops" attached to the truck wheel well for? Is there also D-loops attached to the truck box in all four corners on the outside of the "bed bars"? I just received the Tacoma kit and there are NO directions for installing. I only understand that the bars are mounted using the bed the bolts. I called and emailed service many times but always voicemail and no reply by email.
Hi Tyler. I can send you the instructions we have. Please email me at melanie@fourwh.com. There is also a short video explaining a bit about installation on short bed Tacoma that may be helpful. ruclips.net/video/w7UQ8GJTHMo/видео.html
Hi Michel, Thank you for your interest. Most of our customer leave their campers on full-time or near full-time. Your suspension needs will depend upon your exact truck and exact camper (which impacts weight). Click on our "Find Dealer" button at top of our website and our nearest dealer can help you navigate the truck, camper, and suspension options.
Hi and thank you for this. We have just added cool videos that show where the turnbuckles are located. Click on "Campers" and then on "SLide-in Campers" on our website to see video. Have a great day!
The camper size relates to the truck type and bed length. Our campers on a full sized truck of 6.5 or 8.0 foot bed are actually quite large. The top pops up to make the ceiling 6' 4" or 6' 6". This creates a lot of space. Our flatbed versions are the largest and people take them to Central and south America for months and years at a time. Please see www.fourwheelcampers.com for 3D videos to see more. Thank you for your interest!!
Thank you for your comments. Please see our 3D videos on our website. You may find the interior space is appealing. The ceiling height is from 6' 4" to 6' 6" and the bed size is either a queen or king. Our largest model for 8' truck bed length with a flat-bed is actually surprising large inside. But, in general, our products are for people who prefer a less intrusive "RV" experience, reduced driving and parking challenges, less were and tear on their trucks, and the ability to go anywhere a off-road outfitted truck can take them. From Alaska to Baja, to Cental America, to South America....you will find our customers navigating the territory! Have a great day!!

I believe there's a 4 wheel camper facility around the corner from where I work in Woodland, CA.
Think I might go check 'em out.
That's the factory. There is an open house on Oct 26th.

Do you have a 4wheel pop up dealer in the Tacoma area of Washington?I have a 1/2 ton quad cab Ram with a 5.7 hemi single axle

Where can I buy the jacks alone??? I have a camper with no stands very hard to get on and take off

It does actually work! The momentum of pushing the camper along with the truck rocking eases it into place.
I would like to see this process with a flatbed.

What is the total height above the cab of the tacoma? When in the down position. Thanks!

Once the camper is on, do you just unbolt the legs that are used to lift the camper?
Yes. You can leave the jacks on, or easily remove them for your trip. Most customers leave them at home.
do you have a link for the Tacoma bed bars?

I would think the jacks would act as protection so people don’t get to close to you on the road lol
Its best to remove the jacks for travel as they can get snagged and damage the camper.
