Sick versus Dying

Sick versus dying by Polly Samuel (aka 'Donna Williams'). Those who are sick are not necessarily dying and vice versa. But what happens if you are in your last weeks of dying from something like cancer? Is it ok that you prefer to see your situation as a person living in the 'dying time' rather than just a 'patient' sick as they are dying?
