First thing first -> change scale from 1 to 10 :) and you will se the magic. (For example human with real size 1.7 Height etc , and shirt with real size, make them 10x bigger, and all your jitter will gone forever (dont forget apply scale). Thanks for the tip with DAMPING on collision objects its intresting i need test it.
Wow thank you! I'm so happy you like the video! Btw i do also really enjoy your videos! I remeber back in I think 2020 I came across yor channel over the photogrammetry with visualsfm tutorial - and have been watching since! So really cool to get a comment from you!
What was your scale like? Real world? I was testing some sims earlier and saw a tip to increase the size of everything, get your bake, and then put everything back down to normal scale. It did work pretty great and the simulation looked good, but it messed with my props connected to the rig and couldn’t put the scale back in place. I’ll try your tip next. Another tip is to use proxies for a collider, that way some of the cloth can be sculpted a bit closer to the character without worrying about it clipping with the collider
Thanks! This helped a lot. The default settings gave me bizarre results, even when I changed settings to Silk, Rubber, Leather, or Cotton. Nothing worked as expected. Why does my cloth continue to slide across a flat floor, even when I turn up the friction? How do I change the roughness or stickiness of the collision objects. As is, it's like it's been sprayed with Teflon, which is not realistic at all. Also, could you explain impulse clamping? Thanks!
When I add any vertex mass value(0.0001-20), my clothes stop sewing and only slowly fall down :( I tried to change every other value, but nothing works. I don't understand
This video felt like it magically appeared on my front page, literally just starting to learn about cloth simulations and your information is so based ✨
straight to the point good video i remember watching your 3d scan video out of curiousity even tho I don't do anything with 3d scans but this video might actually be useful to me soon
@@edinspiegel keep putting out those good short tutorials you're definitely gonna blow up because there's too many 10+ minutes long tutorials that aren't as compact or good
Heya, it appears you don't mention which Blender version you are using. I can't replicate Damping slider, and Thickness because of that, my version has different sliders. Or probably you might want to revisit this tutorial for Blender 3.6. I'm currently using 3.6.4.
The human is normal human height so around 176cm - I specifically didn't want to change the scale - because you can't scale down already baked cloth simulations.
dame, I just don't get why those genius developers at Blender set such bizarre default parameters. Are they trying to create some kind of entry barrier?
Hmm - that's weird. Maybe you could try to play around with the vertex mass some more? if your mesh is more highres, you might need to go alot lower, if it's lowres you might need to go higher. let me know if that helps...
Would someone please help me? even though i have no keyframes, when i move the playhead on my timeline the clothes of my character keep falling off, please i beg you hlep me
thank you so much for responding, im truly desperate, even tho my charactewr has the collision modifier the clothes behave weirdly, any i dea ? maybe i need to adjust the settings on both modifiers but im really at lost please help' :(@@edinspiegel

Lol it work tho
I second the @BlindIllusionist comment, it's so kind of you to get straight to the point and deliver! Awesome, thanks Edin!

@@edinspiegel Thanks for your kind words!
Bruh... Short and straight to the point! You saved me a headache!
I'm glad it helped you!
it worked!, but only when I used weight paint with it, maybe it's just my case ... but using weight paint is also useful and it ease the process??

Thanks a lot, I especially love the fact that you came straight to the point and keeping the video short!
No problem! I'm glad you liked it!
Yes! Way too many seem to assume the viewer has never opened blender before, it's maddening.

good video

Thank you! It means a lot, that you mentioned "straight to the point" because that's exactly what I wanted to do with this video!

@@SwagHyde Thank you! I will definitely do that!
How do you get the seams of the 2 parts to be “ perfect ” ?
It solved my problems for a few days I'll share it with you.
Keep up this format and creativity, your channel will be big. From istanbul with love.
Thank you so much! I will!

did you try speed factor?
Finally a good blender tutorial. FINALLY. Ure a legend.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the video!
What scale are you using? Like is one blender unit 1 m, 10 cm, etc?
Scale has a huge effect on physics sims but isn't talked about much.
The human is normal human height so around 176cm - I specifically didn't want to change the scale - because you can't scale down already baked cloth simulations.
@@edinspiegelWild guess, but wouldn't it work to export the cloth sim as an alembic and then import it back in to scale it?
yayyy new edin spiegel video!
You just need to scale the skeleton by x10 or x100, it's that simple
Good Idea but no - that doesn't work (I tried), you can't scale a baked sim.
Thanks for sharing! It helped me a lot.
No Problem - Glad it helped!

dude im speechless those setting literally turned my goopy sim to damn near finished version
OMG You save me! Thank you!!
thanks a lot in just less than 3 minutes you saved me from hours of searching!
Can i ask something bro?
Sure - go ahead!
Thank you so so much! I'm excited to go and try these tips!
This is great but would be better a bit slower. Thanks
Super nice and concise video my man subscribed

I don't know how, but following these tips made my simulation even worse, even starting from scratch...

I think the problem might be that you have a cloth simulation on your piece of cloth - but no collision on you character - Hope that helps
